Any historical movie is going to be super expensive, and there's no reason to think the room temperature IQ audiences of the modern world will go to see them, even if they are good which is unlikely.

1st and 2nd crusade were modest, 3rd crusade the big famous one, ones after that were huge embarrassment and crusades within european soil usually don't make very bombastic historical films. You could make a crusade drama film about Cathars being massacred I guess.
