orange box is the fricking worst. Forget fricked up colors and and other shit. The stretched aspect ratio on that set makes the show unfrickingwatchable. The fact they are now selling blu ray versions of that butchered set in stores to this day should be a crime. They literally just released a new remastered version a few years ago that done away with that stretched shit and I know that version sucks too but why not just sell the less shitty version in stores instead of reselling the 15 year old unwatchable version?

Also One Piece anime on Netflix for the older episodes is also stretched and they wont fricking fix it.

Why does the audio in these remasters get lower with each release?
Got to have the volume maxxed out to hear anything on these bluray releases.

I've watched Dragon Box (DVD) but wasn't aware the colors were off THAT bad. Levels seems the only one decent here.

The Levels are indeed the best official release of DBZ. But it’s unfinished. They only released the Saiyan arc. Then they switched to a different release which was way worse. It’s a tragedy. The original Dragon Ball however has been remastered by a French company and they did a near-perfect job so here’s hoping DBZ will get done by them eventually

QRD on that French remaster? I've just been supporting Seed of Might.

Ikaos/SoM Db, Dbz, Gt collection on nyaa should in everyones hdd if they’re a fan of the series, they did an amazing job with it, albeit its a bit space consuming lol

The anniversary dbz blurays are okay if you have autism with resolution, as it’s complete and the level sets aren’t

French Blurays were released earlier this year or the last year i forgot. It’s perfect, but only 68 episodes are done as of now so we’re still waiting for the rest

          >French DB remaster
How faithful is the completeness footage? Is it DragonBox perfect, as in, proper OP/EDs, correct Japanese title cards and credits on a per episode basis, commercial bumpers?

No its just very barebones, just subs the original jp dub thats it, no fancy anything. Not sure if the Ikaos/som guys will touch it
          I hope they will though

That's too bad. I got the original DB DragonBox DVDs back in like 2006, would be nice to have a set that's on-par with it but with English subs.

Ive never liked Japanese Goku's granny voice.

If you watch it from the beginning, it becomes a non-factor. Seeing Goku as a child and transition from that to an adult with the same actor voicing him really showcases how incredible she is at performing. It only seems odd because you grew up with the dub (like the rest of us) and only ever heard clips of her voicing him occasionally which obviously is weird for you but taking into consideration she has been Goku for 40 years, it's hard to argue she's not the best for that role. I use to share the same opinion as any other English speaker who watched the show on Toonami, but I've grown up and seen the definitive version of DB from start to finish.

I heard Goku's Japanese voice first with Super, and it took me only 2 episodes to get used to it.
I don't get why people have so a hard time accepting it.
I'm currently watching Kai, and I prefer sub over dub, I never want to hear dub DB again

              >I don't get why people have so a hard time accepting it.
Because adult men should should like adult men and not old grannies because of Japanese autism with never changing a VA for a character ever even if it's completely appropriate like a boy aging into a man.

People only focus on her gender and not her actual performance. Yes, it's initially strange that one of the well known masculine anime characters is voiced by an old woman, but it's unironically a perfectly cast. Goku is two things, a dumb hick, and someone who feels righteous anger when the moment calls for it. She certainly makes Goku sound stupid in normal situations, but in battle he does sound very heroic and she can make Goku sound extremely angry. Jap Goku doesn't really sound like a female.

    >blu ray is cropped to shit and everyone I talk to says to not waste my money
Just fricking get it together funimation, the toonami generation grew up and wants those sweet rock tracks to hype them and their kids up. Frick

I’m convinced they do this solely to get everyone’s hopes up and buy the next box set every time, damn shame we won’t get anything that looks as good as the Level sets in 4K ever.
