      It's entirely up to the creators, but animal characters aren't thrown in arbitrarily, they should fit the work
      Should a gritty WWII film have animal characters? What about a mockumentary about the opioid crisis?

    Anon it's completely fine for a show to have humans and blank just coexisting without reason. It's actually more unique not to have an explanation, that they have just lived together all through out their history.

    If you NEED an explanation, like you can't enjoy/understand the relationship without an explanation. Then you have autism.
