Nobody brought this up at all. Is this “woke” in the room with us right now?

Put your guns down Anon, he’s saying he hates that people are refusing to watch it because it’s “woke” when honestly it’s playing like the old cartoon would've but with an altered cast and art style. Writing wise though it’s hardly changed.

Come on man, i'm liking the show but please don't gas light like this. For frick sake, Episode 2 was literally a j6 parody. They fricking had x-cutioner using anti blm rhetoric to Cyclops and don't get me started on that cringe "don't talk when a black women is talking" moment with Storm. Now, for the most part the show is good so far but don't lie about what is vs isn't.

Something about this headline made me giggle. Like, you could replace the "Disney" and "latest Marvel Show" with any big name well received franchise installment and just swap it in and people would believe it based entirely on their own biases. It's not even trying to hide the spin.
God you could probably do this same shit with SJW types by swapping in "Anime industry" and "Goblin Slayer" or "Dudebros" and "Zach Snyder film"

      Anonymous

You could extend this to the posters, and replace them with cardboard cutouts.

But I'm optimistic. Maybe this will be the sacrificial thread for all the pol shiposters of every axis, and they won't frick up the actual threads on the show so much.

It just had its second season air last year Anon, it’s still a good show, people are just passed the bs controversy of the show.

          Anonymous

Honestly, the controversy was never about the show. It was about the first episode. Which is funny in hindsight because one of the best criticisms of the show is that they didn't follow up on the first episode's tone very well. That tonal whiplash of a more generic fantasy rpg anime gone horribly wrong followed up by the Slayer's character being communicated to us through his jaded actions and emotional numbness to the situation was made for an extremely solid introductory episode. It kinda keeps dialing back the cynicism after that as it goes and just ends up a generic adventure anime but with rape and torture, which doesn't work as well when the series hinges on the viewers fascination with the Slayer's one track mind and cutthroat nature and the cruel world which lead to it

    >no, they decided to do a massive marketing campaing to shill a random animated series that has nothing to do with the MCU
sometimes i wonder if the world is actually filled with morons or it is just a vocal minority.

"X-Men '97" is a thrilling and nostalgic journey back to the beloved animated series that captured the hearts of fans around the world. Disney has done a fantastic job of bringing back this iconic show, staying true to the original while adding a fresh perspective for both longtime fans and new audiences.

The animation is top-notch, seamlessly blending the classic style of the original series with modern techniques, creating a visually stunning experience. The voice acting is also superb, with the original cast returning to reprise their roles, adding authenticity to the characters and the world they inhabit.

One of the standout aspects of "X-Men '97" is its storytelling. The show continues to explore complex themes such as prejudice, identity, and acceptance, making it both entertaining and thought-provoking. The writing is sharp and engaging, keeping viewers of all ages invested in the characters and their journeys.

It's important to note that this review is based on the quality of the show and my genuine excitement as a fan. Disney is not paying for this review; it's a testament to the excellence of "X-Men '97" and the joy it brings to fans of the original series.

    >Why are they so desperate for people to like it?
Disney's had a miserable few years and they're desperate for a hit. This cartoon is nostalgia pandering for 90s kids, shills professional and amateur are out in force to promote it.

X-Men is a brand that's historically been used for decades to push The Message, so professional reviewers are going to be inherently inclined to support and shill it.

Despite the comics sucking for more than 20 years and the movies declining into irrelevance, X-Men still has a big fanbase that's been losing their minds for years over the MCU heroes overshadowing the mutants. They're desperate for a win, so they're all in on supporting this callback to the glory days of the franchise.

Still not going to watch it though.

because that way more dumb people would pay for the Disney+ subscription and they'll have more money.

Xmen 97 first episodes are a bait for X97 turbo woke final episodes and next seasons, which are bait for THE MUTANTS in the mcu.
They think if they can drip it and feed it slowly you will eat the bugs instead of rejecting them like The Marvels.
