I’d need specifics for something like this, I can see something like Comedy Central pushing for this. But I’ve listened to plenty of comedy albums and specials where there isn’t any sign of canned laughter. Why are you such a persnickety prostitute? The way we figure out the hierarchy is with certain brain chemicals, which translate to subconsious body language. You can just feel it when talking to someone higher or lower, even if you've never met them or know anything about them. The brain chemicals get released depending on your experiences in life. If you contantly get shit on because you're low standing it will show in your body language. Women, on average, get more shit on in life due to their smaller stature and less inclination to self-defense, so they are usually low on the ladder. This is also why everyone seems to hate manlets so much.
Anyway, comedy is like 95% percieved social standing. High status = funny. If you've ever seen clips of Joe Biden interacting with commoners, you'll see that they laugh like children at all of his awful jokes. Comedians in general have a body language that implies a high social status, so they are seen as funny. If you really think about their jokes you'll realize that most are unfunny, and if you think about some random person telling you these jokes you'd realize it too.

Because being a human who wants things from other humans (money, relationships, etc.) requires that you put your ego aside more often than not and do things other than what you feel like doing in the moment.
