Superman represents the best in America and its values. That archetype doesn't translate well to the type of low-level melodrama Marvel found success with and WB now tries to emulate. DC is the superior brand as far as depth goes but Marvel has a simple format that translates well to films a general popcorn audience will appreciate.

He’s more grounded and more human than the rest of DC’s characters. That’s why pic related worked well and all other super hero origin stories suck.
