i get up at 5 for my office job, they dont have enough parking, so if you get there past 6 to 6:30 you wont find a spot. Plumbers, electricians, HVAC, carpenters can all easily charge 80/hr. I make 36. They can also chose their own hours as independent contractors.

Carpenter here. It's good making 50 bux an hour because by the time I'm 40 both my knees will be blown out and I'll need to retire twenty years earlier than a tax accountant.

Only redeeming feature of trades is being able to be a contractor and not have to work for a boss. When I worked in a supermarket or as an apprentice it was hell.

            >Wow, isn't it great apprentice-anon. We're going to stand around doing nothing for 5 hours and charge for a 12 hour day

if you blow out your body by 40 youre doing something wrong. I hear this all the time and see it with my father, but he smokes, drinks, insists real men have a beer gut, rarely goes to a doctor and when he does, ignores their advice. There are farmers that remain spry up till their 70's. If you're a healthy weight with no vices you can handle this shit into your 60s.

Most of my family are low IQ plumbers. The ones who aren’t constantly in pain are strangely enough the ones who don’t weigh 300 pounds, wore their knee inserts, aren’t alcoholics, and unlike my uncle dont brag about how they carried entire hot water heaters into basements without anyone assisting in the lift and also went into their business for themselves and outsourced all of the heavy lifting to younger staff.

                Anonymous

farming is easier on the body then any trade, because farmers perform a variety of tasks. its the repetitive motion that fricks tradesmen. Farmers don't spend literally dozens of hours per week on their knees- plumbers do.

anyway, the whole "my grandpa lived to be 95 and was a brick layer his whole life!" thing is nonsense. What determines how well your body functions past your 50s mostly comes down to genetics. yes good diet, stretches and exercise help. but 99% of people start to break down past 45, regardless of their lifestyle.

I think the fact one doesn't realize anything tangible to the world or any value to anyone makes the work miserable. I had a summer job working for a township filling potholes and taking down trees 8 years ago. The guys that do that get to drive around their community and fix real problems you have daily. That p1othole that ruined your rims the other week? Bill gets to tell you he took care of that for you. How did Western society adopt this fantasy that work is supposed to be satisfying and fulfilling your dreams? Civilization needs trashmen, construction workers, menial laborers, custodians, grave diggers, shit shovelers, clerks, servants, etc. Those jobs aren't fun, but someone has to do them.

90% of people across all of human history have worked jobs that they disliked to varying degrees and/or suffered immensely performing. That's life. You work to satisfy your material needs and seek your spiritual and emotional needs elsewhere.

Yes, even trashmen, custodians (which I was once) and shit shovelers should have their occupation looked upon with respect and be paid fair, livable wages.

I started wagecucking fulltime 3 years ago and it honestly ruined my life. Everything seems like a waste of time. I stopped volunteering. Slept less. Began to feel numb to reality. All creative energy and motivation drained away. I make 21 bucks an hour as a factory wagie, up from 15 when I started. I worked hard to learn everything I could. Still a waste of time. I want to quit. I want a work from home job so badly. Nothing feels real anymore. I've slept 5 hours a night for 3 years now. I'm probably permanently brain damaged. I was gonna finally quit but now I'm scared if I do I'll think about my oneitis all day and it will ruin my NEETing as I work on my projects. I want a work from home job but I'm too tired to study when I get home. I want to die in my sleep, my hobbies are losing their allure, I'm a 29 year old virgin and my life feels genuinely pointless. It's my own fault but I understand how this guy feels. I also have mild tinnitus due to 5k hours exposure to 70 dB hissing air and no one else wore earplugs so I didn't either. I wish I'd stayed a NEET. Currently trying to find a way to move with 2 trannies who work part-time and don't own cars and walk to work and supermarket so they live off of 1k a month each.

        are you fricking moronic?
        just get an IT job
why in the world would you go from NEET to a factory job?

Because I was 25 and been out of work a year so I was desperate for a job. I fell asleep standing up a few times so I started drinking coffee cause it was free at work. I hated coffee, it's for women, but now I like it like a good söy. All my coworkers are subhuman homosexuals. Now I have tinnitus cause I worked there 3 years and it wasn't that loud, it was like that hissing air from a sawdust cleaner but much quieter so I never worried about it, I thought the earplugs was for if you were using them so I just covered my ears near those and didn't worry otherwise. September 2021 after I'd been there almost 2 years in first noticed the tinnitus and now I'm fricked forever. My only hope is that years of using QTips pushed earwax into my ears and caused it and maybe getting them cleaned professionally will help but deep down I know that's not it and I'm fricked. My mind is fricked. I cannot imagine a life where I work 8 hours a day and still do what I want. I start fricking seething at 8 pm realizing I need to go to bed in 30 mknutes or else not get enough sleep. I cannot believe 90 percent of the population lives like this. I was not cut out to live and I knew this since childhood which is why I lived under the mentality that I had terminal cancer and 18 was my death date. I just got to procrastinate an extra decade. But once reality hits I'll probably domerip because I don't enjoy life anymore it's just a fricking shell of what it was now. I took 2 vaccines so hopefully the myocarditis takes me in my sleep soon. What little of it there is.

in addition to the constant background ringing every once in a while one of my ears will ring VERY loudly for like a minute and i'm effectively deaf in it
my lifestyle doesn't help either, i've never worn earplugs at a concert and think those who do are pussies (even though its objectively a good idea)
if there's a lot of background noise sometimes i can't understand what people are saying
i'm only 28 and i have the hearing of a 60 year old sailor

I haven’t worked full time in over ten years. 20 hours a week is my sweet spot.

What do you do? How do you support yourself? My dream in life is to work part-time again. It's the only thing keeping me going. No woman will ever want or respect a man who doesn't work full-time but who gives a frick none of them want me anyway.

I work as a janitor at a hotel. It’s an easy, stress free job. I have zero dollars left at the end of the month. No savings. I don’t care, i enjoy my living.

The thing is, when i worked full time i would have these moment. Every time i was knee deep in someshitty work task i would thing the same thing: ”this is not worth the money. It is not worth it.”

same tbh. im a museum security guard after doing IT and electrician apprenticeship work for years, and the pay is half what I was making at those jobs but I literally get paid to just walk around and talk to people occasionally. as soon as i clock out i completely forget the job exists until I clock in again. i havent been stressed from work in years.

all the problems you complain about in here would be fixed with socialism and allowing workers to control the means of production

and you cant prove me wrong
in the movie the main guy said something like "why should I work harder to help the company when i dont see any of that extra money." When the workers own the company, everyone benefits.

Yes. If things are done differently then different results occur.

Time, the quality of time, and the compensation of time. All of it accruing to an impersonal machine and its more or less arbitrarily guardians & managers.

I quit my accounting job to go back to cooking in restaurants like I did in college because I couldn't stand how boring it was and missed the adrenaline and yelling. Over the years tho it does get tiring, but saved enough to buy a food truck and live comfortably and can pay my mortgage. Probably would be making a lot more money if I stuck it out, but I look forward to going to work most days and never just waiting to go home.

Would Cinemaphile love or hate working as a Japanese Salary Man?

I'd rather be a fat ugly Yakuza guy who does porn and bangs cute Japanese girls, if I'm being honest.

I heard it's easy to get film roles as a white guy but you always get stiffed. the paycheck never arrives and since it's a one time thing there's no recourse
