Not happening. They didn't make the Nolan movies canon with the Snyder Superman movies (which they should have) they aren't going to do the same with the Pattinson Batman movies or the Todd Phillips Joker movies. It would be the smart move. But it's not going to be the move they make.

Besides. By the time they finally have a good cinematic universe going the Superhero movie trend will be far past it's sell by date and fans will be moving onto the next trend, and Hollywood will be moving onto the next genre to ruin with politics and racism. It's sad that the entire Superhero movie trend will have come and gone without a good DC movie universe, or a good Superman movie trilogy. But it's just the sad reality. Cope and move onto something else.

The normies are the reason the DC movie universe is in the pits it's in. because they keep recycling the 'Superman is boring' meme, which encouraged DC to edgelord him up. Which ruined everything DC related that came after it even implicitly.

Without a good Superman movie trilogy as a strong foundation. There is no DC movie universe worth existing.

Superman returns was (for the most part) true to his character. Didn't stop it from boring the shit out of people. A live action Superman movie that is true to his character and isn't played for camp like the original Chris Reeves movies willl fail. Face it. Batman turns everything dark and depressing and brings down the mood just by existing. It's why they never had Iron Man or Captain America crossover with Dardevil or Purple Man. There's no way they'd be able to keep their heroism around something that dark. It's also why Supermans rogues gallery doesn't have bad guys as messed up as Zsasz or Scarecrow.

I think Christopher Nolan was the piece that was preventing those two movies from being connected. I wouldn't think he would want his work to exist in a shared universe with super human fantastical elements. And for a while Warner Brother's biggest priority was keeping Nolan happy.

        >fatigue is setting in
The last 2 MCU movies made half as much as the entire DCEU (SM:NWH + DS:MoM = 2.85 billion vs the entire DCEU at 5.8 billion WW)
The Covid movie did poorly and it's hard to say how much better they would have done but it's hard to deny they would have done a good bit better seeing as BW was a simultaneous release on D+

The real panic at WB began when Thor 2 came within a few million dollars of outgrossing Man of Steel.
That's when they scrapped the plans for a Superman trilogy and told Snyder he was doing a Batman v. Superman movie as the SURE FIRE CAN'T MISS film.
...and the story of that movie is just the 'Death of Superman' movie he always intended for the second film in the trilogy with Batman awkwardly stapled onto it.

Snyder NEVER course-corrected. Even when told to make a diffewrent movie he just kept making the one he originally intended to. Disregarding the fact that the REASON he was being asked to make a different movie was because no one liked his 'vision.'

        Standard objectivist bullshit.

At a certain point it wasn’t even about patience. It was about commitment. WB wanted it perfect right away but it wasn’t. However they still had something that the MCU wasn’t providing, and there was an audience there at least curious to see what could be done. But instead of powering through the fumbles and experimenting to see what audience they could accrue, they kept slamming on the brakes to retool, and eventually wasted so much time that everybody just gave up. They’re trying to reboot the continuity with a Flash film 10 years after Man of Steel which was only 4 years before Justice League bombed. The truth is the MCU has had plenty of frick ups too, but they have better PR and an ability to drop plot points and mistakes until they can circle back and boast they had a plan all along. WB meanwhile is like a deer in the headlights, throwing away whole scripts and plans the second a negative review comes in. Hell even their good films like Shazam get no prioritization, the sequel should’ve already come out and we should all be waiting on the Shazam & Black Adam crossover with Cavil’s Superman, but Shazam 2 is still waiting for release and the kid playing Billy is gonna be like 20 before we get to 3. WW84 was so bad it killed all good will towards the Justice League cast, and even though Zack was forbidden to use Green Lantern for his JL film they don’t seem to be fast tracking a Green Lantern film anyway.

They could have done what the X-Men movies did. Lead with the team movie introducing all these characters through a point of view character. Like Wolverines character was introduced to the X-Men they could have used flash or Batman for a Justice League movie right out of the gate then if it was a hit, then done the standalone movies.

The worst part is that Flash was meant to wipe the slate clean and start over, but now it might never happen, despite future films already following on from it.

Flashpoint is gonna bomb. If not because the movie itself sucks then because people will be so disgusted by the main actors behavior that they stay away.

Assuming they don't just bite the bullet, accept the massive loss, and dump it on HBOMax.

almost like it's a stupid fricking idea to film five movies before the first one's even out yet

I mean fricking hell not even Sony does that

At this point WB needs to take a scorched earth approach to it and start over. Cut the cord, recast literally everyone, start with a brand new trilogy of standalone movies for every character. Even Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Shazam. Keep Battinson, and maybe make his trilogy canon to the new universe after Reeves finishes up his trilogy. But otherwise? Scorched earth. Then after you have a Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman trilogy. Then you do the teamup movie. Oh and don't call it Justice League, that brand is tainted because of the failure of the first one. Call it Worlds Finest or The Trinity or something.

Which is exactly what they aren't going to do.

Of course they won't, they're too stubborn to admit they fricked up.

For frick's sake guys, at least Universal saw the writing on the wall enough to give up on the Dark Universe.

Yeah. But they only made one movie and unlike Superman. Nobody gives a shit about the fricking Mummy or Jekyll and Hyde.

Zack Snyder immediately went for the old grizzled Batman and it was a bad idea. I know he's obsessed with Frank Miller but he should have been patient.

I disagree, it was the best way to do it if you're going to do Batfamily as you can just start with Tim.

Unironically Think Alan Moore Curse DCEU. He practices wizard shit. Not "chaos magic" or wiccan meme tumblr witch stuff-- I mean old-school wizard shit. He said he put a curse on DC and Zack Snyder for making Watchmen when the movie adaptation was realesed. Then, when Damon Lindeloff did Watchmen, he apparently sent a letter to Moore asking for "advice". He said Moore responded, but didn't feel comfortable sharing what he had to say. Now, after the fact, Damon Lindelof is open about saying Moore put a curse on him, too. He hasn't been a showrunner or written for a show since 2019, merely executive produced something.
