>Why did bruce timm’s Superman fail
Huh?
It's a shitposter, or template poster. You will see that exact pattern reposted repeatedly in an attempt to drive discussion. Look at the >yous he collected.
What this post says.
> Why did X
> Why did you X
> Why does Cinemaphile X
Anything that makes a statement like this is just fishing
Here's another post with the same basic pattern.
>fail
It had 4 seasons, set up the other DC heroes, and lead directly into Justice League who's entire background lore was based around it. I get brownoid creatures like the new "Lois" make you horny but there is no reason to just make up stupid bullshit.
>Justice League cartoon from 20 years ago
>a success!!
At least try with your shitty bait
Twinkerman will just be a embarrassing piece of history in 3 years.
More like in 3 months.
Zaslav already axed it. It's not getting renewed.
Proof?
I second you on this a 100%
I would do the same if I was in his place honestly
...huh? Is a show not successful unless it lasts for 20+ years? Is everything except The Simpsons a failure?
>Is a show not successful unless it lasts for 20+ years?
of course
I hope that homie's trolling and isn't literally one of those zoomers who literally think anything older than 5 years is not worth checking out. God it would be embarrassing for them to find out how much the shit we have today stands on the shoulders of giants.
>find out how much the shit we have today stands on the shoulders of giants.
Name three
A show is only a success if Toei gets the rights to its anime.
Go jump off a bridge.
Double Black person.
>4 seasons
It had three seasons. Which were half the length of BTAS seasons. And of which had literally 1/10 of their episodes being Batman crossovers.
>54 episodes
>failure
It had four seasons, it's just that the last one was just three episodes long. Batman was made back when doing a 65 episode first season to run every weekday afternoon was normal, and the drawback of that approach was inconsistent animation, the best studios can't do them all. Season three of Superman was the weakest because the crew was stretching themselves thin doing Superman, Batman, and Batman Beyond at the same time, so the first two ended so they could focus fully on the last one which WB particularly liked because more younger kids watched it.
Three episodes isn't a real season. It's not even movie length (of which DCAU Batman had 3 and Superman had 0).
Superman basically had one season. Seasons two and three were then merged into a package program with more Batman. And because even that wasn't enough, about 1/5 of those two seasons were Batman crossovers (six episodes). A lot of others were backdoor pilots for Justice League. Arguably by season 2 it's already proto-JL instead of a Superman show. On top of the six Batman episodes we had a Green Lantern episode, a Legion episode (which you can at least semi-excuse if you consider them Superman characters), an Aquaman episode, a Flash episode, and a Dr. Fate episode.
Then because even that humiliation wasn't enough it got canceled outright for a Batman spin-off. Didn't even get a single movie (again, to Batman's 3) to wrap up the cliffhanger arc.
If it was truly a failure they would have canceled it after the first. Kids WB wasn't shy about canceling Road Rovers which debuted on the same day or Waynehead which debuted a month later.
you don't think retooling it into Justice League Limited after one season was a sign it wasn't doing well? Especially when that was a short season to begin with.
It wasn't a massive hit like Batman, but things that aren't massive hits can still be successful. And pairing it with Batman did boost ratings.
>you don't think retooling it into Justice League Limited after one season was a sign it wasn't doing well?
no. I figured they just wanted to make justice league and saw no point in also having a super man show since both take place in metropolis a lot.
Also, superman is easier to write as part of a team than stand alone.
Superman would hate both your racism and how easily you fall for dividing bait like a moron
OK troony, everything he said was right regardless
>It had 4 seasons, set up the other DC heroes, and lead directly into Justice League
i didn't know that
is there a watch order for this universe? or at least a chart listing everything in it?
btas, stas, jl, jlu, static shock
They let Paul Dini fill his Batman fetish by having him frick Lois
Frick off OP
Technically I'm not ignoring you. I just want to post this image.
Bruce Timm's superman is the real superman. Anime superman is a flashing scam from a southern Irish.
>Cemented itself as the definitive Superman cartoon
>The show doesn't even bother to show the name of the show in the intro
Neither did Batman
it didn't fail, it just wasn't as good as Batman TAS, which few things are
You're right, it was better.
>anime Superman is a giant success?
>giant success
wut?
I have a theory that now that the schizo can't spam his "Superman is outdated" bullshit, he's moved onto shitting on DCAU.
look at him go
Did you know Kyle Baker made the Batman Beyond title sequence alone on his home computer because the WB animation department didn’t have any computers
I thought that was by Darwyn Cooke
me in the middle
>Why did bruce timm’s Superman fail
What? It was great.
>Why did bruce timm’s Superman fail but anime Superman is a giant success?
Superman TAS competed with Batman , Xmen and Spiderman shows so many kids ignored that show(and still was successful enough).
MAwS launch at the perfect moment, is been 15 years without a GOOD spiderman cartoon and he release before the Batman series.
What Batman series?
Will it tie into Adventures since there was a Vicki Vale reference?
No, Amazon has 2 Batman cartoon in developed(Caped and another)
https://www.animationmagazine.net/2023/04/holy-animated-content-amazon-nabs-two-new-batman-shows-and-a-movie/
>15 years
Ah frick.
TAS was great and the current one seems to be good.
Is like console warring at Batman TAS vs BaB or Spiderman TAS vs Spectacular
Is insane , Spiderman would works better in a series or comics than film but somehow there are the spiderman media that miss the point the hardest in the last decade
> release right before the batman series
is the batman series even made yet? I thought it only got re-ordered by Amazon.
>Why did bruce timm’s Superman fail
It did well enough for its time
Possibly the weakest OP bait I've ever seen and people still bit. So good job, OP. You're still a homosexual.
It hits a wider demographic like all anime do. I never liked Superman but my adventures managed to make me a fan.
>bruce timm’s Superman fail
What
Because Koreans are better animators.
This show is completely responsible for pushing the crap downgrade animation american shows were known for during the anime boom.
80s shows did that
Superman the Animated Series was born into a situation where it could never really succeed no matter how much it tried. My Adventures with Superman was born into a situation where really, it couldn't fail as along as it made it a basic Superman story. Timm was dealing with the consequences of the high expectations from Batman the Animated Series, and he himself was never terribly good at content outside of pulp detective material. In hindsight, he even admitted that he should have leaned harder into sci-fi action adventure rather than making a halfway compromise between the fleischer cartoons and BTAS. The MAWS "anime" may have terrible animation, and show runners who don't have the talent to actually use those anime references well, but they're also coming off of a decade of mediocre Superman films made by people who think they're doing Miracleman, DC animated films no one watches, and the dominance of the Evil Superman concept played to death. In that environment, any superman story that was just the basic good neighbor guy Superman was going to succeed; it just happened to also appeal to thirsty fujos who realized probably for the first time in their lives, that yes, Superman is a pretty awesome dude, and no, he's not a stand in for their father figure, who they hate so much. So an additional demographic of new fans along with long-suffering old fans desperate for even a hint of the traditional Superman made for a pretty strong showing for the new show.
But the animation for the new show is fine? I swear you people are delusional.
the animation doesn't have to be good
it just has to not be flash tweens
anyways here's the Fleischer universe getting nuked in the Arrrowverse "Crisis on Infinite Earths" comic
>But the animation for the new show is fine?
>?
Well is it or isn't it?
> it just happened to also appeal to thirsty fujos who realized probably for the first time in their lives, that yes, Superman is a pretty awesome dude, and no, he's not a stand in for their father figure, who they hate so much
easy on the projection Frued
Thanks ChatGPT
>see a long post
>it must be a bot!!
Better question is why did Ruby-Spears Superman fail?
Because it aired at like 4 in the morning
Too close to the previous Superfriends era.
Plus Superman IV: the Quest for Peace sucked donkey balls.
I'm pretty sure this guy admitted he doesn't give a shit about the new Superman show and just wants to see DCAU fans "suffer" for arbitrary reasons that he made up in his head. Like claiming that they never gave GLTAS a chance, even though that's very blatantly schizo bullshit.
I honestly don't believe whatever the frick he's saying, he's just making up inane excuses to attention-prostitute with low quality bait threads while jannies refuse to do their jobs anyway.
This place became so bad at creating baits that I feel like even the failure is a bait itself.
anime Superman looks actually white, instead of chinese
all anime characters look white instead of chinese
yeah, but look at Op, it actually looks like an intentionally drawn ethnic chink face
>yeah, but look at Op, it actually looks like an intentionally drawn ethnic chink face
anon, you must live around some jacked fricking chinks
funny guy
I mean why his eyes so chinky
that is way too squinty
he doesnt wear a mask
synergy with dean cain
Anime characters are cats
>sameface is acceptable when Japan does it
What metric are you basing this judgement on?
3 episodes out and one greenlit season?
Twitter reviews?
1/10 Bait
OP is 100% a troony
Commit suicide.
>fail
What?
Superman cartoons are never wacky enough
What do you mean "fail"?
Because anime is far more popular today
>a giant success?
huh?
the anime is very amateurish.
90s Superman had more mature writing, smarter plots and better action.
sex with asian genki girls
>kids in the 80s generally dislikes anime and manga because it was too cartoony and thus childish
>adults today like manga and anime because it’s too cartoony and thus childish
Weird when you think about it. Kids like adult stuff but adults want to remain children
The buffet just opened, you can eat as much shit as you please.
But Bruce Timm's Superman was a huge success and kept on being successful for many years.
That said, the new cartoon is looking promising too. At least based on its first three episodes.
Not anime.
Superman 1996 was hugely successful.
weakest fricking bait
Here you go
>Why did bruce timm’s Superman fail
False
Reminder that Bruce Timm doesn't like Superman. He's a massive batgay and it shows
This isn't the first time this happened. In JL, he said they wanted John Stewart because they were fans of his stories only to never adapt any of those stories. Then he later admitted it was done because they needed a black guy on the team.
Bruce Timm doesn't give about what goes on unless his beloved Batman is involved.
>Bruce Timm doesn't give about what goes on unless his beloved Batman is involved.
And it really showed in the JL cartoon. Everyone else shared one braincell and were worfed to death so Batman could swoop in and save everyone and condescend to them while doing so.
It was a good cartoon for the most part but it birthed the unbearable Batgays of today
>It was a good cartoon for the most part but it birthed the unbearable Batgays of today
How many characters benefitted from JL/U? Flash, the Question, obviously Batman, and Green Arrow?
>obviously Batman
Does he? He is dead inside by his 60s
Darkseid I guess. And John Stewart.
>Finale
>Batman dodges the FRICKING OMEGA BEAMS
>Superman gets a nice little speech, two good hits in and then has to be saved from Darkseid killing him with a Kryptonite Knife by Lex Luthor
i don't think anything you said there actually ever happened in Justice League.
see
It happened all the time, Bruce was literally never humbled or proven wrong. I guess when Clark was right about the Darkseid betrayal
>bruce was literally never humbled
>Batman can only be correctes by Other Batman
Is this supposed to be a rebuttal
?t=54
>everyone dodges Justice Lord Superman's punches
>Superman takes two before landing on a shelf
Anon, you could not have made the argument that clearer that Timm thinks Superman is a b***h.
>see Batman's not a mary sue because only Batman can trump Batman
I have to believe you're baiting because no one can organically be this moronic, you have to be doing a spiteful impression of delusional batgays.
>have a cartoon where anything can happen
>its just dull sameness
It's weird really. Like you could easily do "Superman grows an ant head" episode
or "Superman shoots a mini version of himself out of his hands"
I wonder what the logic is behind it. Even the new cartoon seems pretty basic.
They couldn't even have Silver Banshee has have a mystical origin.
I like both series but they both feel like stuff you'd do in a live action series for budget reasons (or because adults watch it wouldn't want it to get too wild)
But cartoons for kids could use some of Superman's far out story ideas but they tend to avoid it
Ok John k
Will we ever have a Wonder Woman show on the level of Timm's Batman and Superman
Wonder Woman isn't interesting enough to carry a whole show.
No, there's nothing new you can do with Greek supernatural shit
Whats wrong with having two different good versions of superman both be successful? It’s not a contest.
