I watched the paramount+ revival and it was alright, a lot of the video segments were lame though. I don't recall seeing a self insert though, unless you're talking about beavis' love interest that's in it for a single episode.
Yes, not too much creative control, his beavis voice sucked compared to the new movie and the paramount+ new show, and MTV was in the dead end period that even led to xzibit quit doing pimp my ride.
The 2011 one felt exactly like the original besides the MTV reality shows. The Paramount Plus revival would've been watchable if the animation wasn't so shit.
It wasn't ratings but a lack of toy sales that killed it. And the reason the toys failed was because Mattel just kept churning out He-man and Skeletor variants instead of producing play-sets, vehicles or new characters.
>Like seriously can anyone name a revival that didn't suck?
Urusei Yatsura, but:
a) it's Cinemaphile
b) It's still not as good as the 80's show and doesn't really have a reason to exist imo
c) Broadcasting standards in nipland today aren't the same as they were in the 80's, so it's also less fanservicey. I don't mind too much but it's enough of an issue the UY threads were absolutely unusable when the first cour was being aired.
Overall reboots suck more often than not. Don't make one.
That revival sucked tho no matter how hard you try to shill it on boards outside Cinemaphile >Toned down Ataru's pervert behavior >Changed the scene of Ataru trying to frick Oyuki like in the original manga and the 80s anime to Oyuki trying to force Ataru onto her while he resist her advances >Removed all the scenes of Ran's mom beating the shit out of her when she was a little girl >Mixed up to 3 manga chapters into one single 11 minutes segment half assing the adaptations >Adapted Kurama's THIRD fricking manga chapter as her first removing all the scenes of her trying to "fix" Ataru on top of removing 2 of her nude scenes from those skipped chapters >Characters are not as expressive as they were in the 80s version or the manga due to the new art style being more restrained
It's okay if you like it, but it ain't good
i used to know a girl irl who shilled this revival, but then cut every contact i had with her andd the circle of friends i had since my life went to hell with no return and i had to make mess of fight to make sure no one knows of my whereabouts. 1 year later, and my life got even worse
Family problems, heritage problems, country going to hell, unemployment and other shit that is ruining my mental sanity as days goes by.
I feel like Old Man Bruce in Beyond and DKR before the comic began.
The only anime revival I was 100% satisfied with was Fullmetal Alchemist... mostly because it was a full adaptation of the manga, thus separated itself from the first anime enough to become its own thing.
I have to agree, the second anime was far better, but only because it actually adapted the original manga. The first Fullmetal anime has none of the charm the manga does once it split its story off.
>Like seriously can anyone name a revival that didn't suck?
In general? Star Trek TNG.
Recently? Samurai Jack '17 was pretty fun outside of the poorly written romance.
I'd consider it a new series over a reboot, few characters return and they don't retread characters/plots for the most part
Closet I would say would be Discovery but even that just uses the skin of a known character in new plots instead of a straight reboot now I'm questioning if TNG could be called a reboot...
>with writers who are older and worse
Shit's depressing the more you think about it. These new episodes of Futurama can't ever feel as groundbreaking as the jokes and stories they were pumping out two decades earlier because it's been TWO DECADES. It's nice to know Cohen and Keeler and the gang are still so passionate about keeping the engine running, but the show has quite literally hit its peak. It can only get worse and more awkward from here on out. Best I can hope for is that the next finale sticks the landing.
Which ain't gonna happen with Cohen being israeli. He could probably criticize the israeli religion and get away with it though. I'd imagine most israeli people aren't really religious but follow the traditions out of respect for their culture and familial obligation.
beached seafood rotting in the sun for days, anon
zoidberg's implied to smell bad enough, I doubt he could even get it up with that smell hundreds of times over
For the last time, seasons are split now for the purpose of making you think it's successful and worth watching. It's like taking one cent off a price to make you think you're getting a bargain.
Why wouldn't it?
Because every revival fails.
Like seriously can anyone name a revival that didn't suck?
Beavis & Butthead
Wait.. which one?
The first one, not the second one with the stiff animation and cringy self-insert.
I watched the paramount+ revival and it was alright, a lot of the video segments were lame though. I don't recall seeing a self insert though, unless you're talking about beavis' love interest that's in it for a single episode.
>it was alright
The response of someone that watches modern television.
The paramount+ one is fine for it follows the movie, The MTV one with jersey shore garbage was hated by everyone, even Mike Judge.
>even Mike Judge
Really?
Yes, not too much creative control, his beavis voice sucked compared to the new movie and the paramount+ new show, and MTV was in the dead end period that even led to xzibit quit doing pimp my ride.
what's wrong with the 2011 one? I feel like that one gets the short end of the stick just because it's associated with those MTV reality slop shows
The 2011 one felt exactly like the original besides the MTV reality shows. The Paramount Plus revival would've been watchable if the animation wasn't so shit.
the tweening looks shitty but come on, beavis is butthead isn't a show known for its stellar animation
Frick you. Loose animation is the best animation, prick.
Seriously, what point was that anon even trying to make with that clip? This is how you spot the fake fans.
>if the animation wasn't so shit.
Wasn't the original series animated in MSpaint?
Beavis and Butt-Head
The He-Man 2002 Reboot I don't think did well ratings-wise, but is well liked among those who kept up with it back then
It wasn't ratings but a lack of toy sales that killed it. And the reason the toys failed was because Mattel just kept churning out He-man and Skeletor variants instead of producing play-sets, vehicles or new characters.

why'd your life go to hell
Family problems, heritage problems, country going to hell, unemployment and other shit that is ruining my mental sanity as days goes by.

Based
never saw the OG show, but the new UY feels sterilized.
first cour was a decent watch, but the second cour was unbearable.
The only anime revival I was 100% satisfied with was Fullmetal Alchemist... mostly because it was a full adaptation of the manga, thus separated itself from the first anime enough to become its own thing.

Tiny Horses
does it really count as a revival if they make a new series every few years to advertise their new generation of toys?
Beavis and Butthead.
>Like seriously can anyone name a revival that didn't suck?
In general? Star Trek TNG.
Recently? Samurai Jack '17 was pretty fun outside of the poorly written romance.
It gets worse since the game is the Canon finale of Samurai Jack
bullshit
Yes it is
Jack manages to reverse the shit Aku did and Ashe lives with him in the end.
no i won't buy it gennedy, get off the internet.
>In general TNG
There hasn’t been decent Star Trek since Enterprise and I damn sure hope you don’t mean Peecard
Picard still isn't a reboot though, it's a out new series/story. Think anon just thought TNG was a direct continuation of TOS
They did say " Its continuing mission:"
The inclusion of the word "continuing," is a bit of an implication.
I'd consider it a new series over a reboot, few characters return and they don't retread characters/plots for the most part
Closet I would say would be Discovery but even that just uses the skin of a known character in new plots instead of a straight reboot

Tell your Hulu corporate masters that if they want to revive an old Fox cartoon, they should pick up Duncanville. I will subscribe for it.
you just want to have sex with the mom and little sister
It tried too hard to be topical when that was never the point of Futurama. It was satirical, but it wasn't trying to be South Park.
Lack of female nudity
>Lack of female nudity
Agreed
highly spankable
Not a problem for most nu-Futurama watchers
boring, doesn't add much to keep the franchise exciting, feels unneeded in the age of rick and morty
Because the Comedy Central revival was already bad and it's being revived a second time with writers who are older and worse.
>with writers who are older and worse

They're owned by Disney now, the only way the show ends is if they pull a surprise move and badmouth space israelites.
Which ain't gonna happen with Cohen being israeli. He could probably criticize the israeli religion and get away with it though. I'd imagine most israeli people aren't really religious but follow the traditions out of respect for their culture and familial obligation.
No reason to exist. It already got a few decent finales, and the previous one was more than good enough to send it off for good.
Futurama ended in 2003, plain and simple.
Fry is a pussy
beached seafood rotting in the sun for days, anon
zoidberg's implied to smell bad enough, I doubt he could even get it up with that smell hundreds of times over
imagine the smell
Didnt they order another season?
For the last time, seasons are split now for the purpose of making you think it's successful and worth watching. It's like taking one cent off a price to make you think you're getting a bargain.
Because Futurama was always mediocre and deserved to be repeatedly cancelled.
frick you
