Heck I don't think modern Spongebob could compete to OG Spongebob. It was calmer and quieter. Made it easier for adults to sit and watch it. AS a teen though I didn't want to give spongebob a chance but hearing Tiny Tim's song in the pilot changed my mind.
This show, I saw clips of it from the story borders and didn't like it... and I think i saw whole 2nd of the show it's self and had a gut reaction to turn it off. I can't explain why but I still don't want to watch this show longer then a silent gif.
I say get someone like Dana Terrace or Genndy Tartakovsky or ND Stevenson or whoever to make an animated drama show for Nick.
It doesn't even have to be good, it just needs to get eyeballs on the network immediately to escape axing–or at least get a fanbase large enough to actually fight Nickelodeon.
Watching it makes me feel old because I remember being a kid and watching every cartoon I could. Now I see something like this and I don't feel anything at all. Least of which would be entertained.

What do a ship captain, a weird rainbow cloud guy and a walrus have in common? Not much. There’s a reason why almost all cartoons have a cohesively themed main cast. Keep the Walrus, replace the captain with a Polar Bear and the cloud with a Penguin. Bam.
