It was shit and not based on a big enough IP to cause outrage watching like Velma. Honestly Harvey Birdman seems almost forgotten these days,.despite how influential it was on internet humor.
>ride the coattails of a funny, well-liked show >have absolutely none of the previous show's good qualities >make all the women ugly because American women aren't sexy anymore >NO HANNA-BARBERA CHARACTERS
what was the fricking point
>>make all the women ugly because American women aren't sexy anymore
They also had zero nudity, even during sex scenes. So in addition to everyone being ugly or plain, you can't even see a hint of sexuality
One of the reasons Harvey Birdman Attorney At Law was successful was because it used existing IPs from the Hanna Barbara universe. Birdgirl was a fail because they didn't use either while providing no good qualities of the characters. Basically this & this

It is a comedy show that is not funny and has none of the charm of it's predecessor.
I remember some anon trying to shill the show for a while during release but no one even bothered to shitpost on his threads so they would die real fast.
Kek I remember that, probably some intern they got to try and get it big on Cinemaphile for free. The show was a fricking trainwreck and it had the even worse problem of being associated with a show that was so funny it'd regularly make your sides cramp from laughing so hard.
I showed a friend Harvey Birdman for the first time about a year ago and they were in absolute hysterics at some parts, the show's as funny as it ever was.
Still an underrated show. IMHO. But I remember being called a shill because I genuinely liked the show in here. Still hoping for a season 3. Seems the chances for a S3 are slim now due to this writers strike.
Why do you put the H in IMHO? Are you afraid of offending someone by asserting your opinion by prefacing that their opinion isn't worth less than yours as if just stating one of your beliefs is an act of aggression or something? IMO is too harsh so you need to disqualify what you're saying as you're saying it?
This could have been a totally different show and had no need to bother with the Birdman IP at all since it did not bother with a single fricking thing HB related at all. Just make a new show.
Fricking this, just change the main character into a generic superhero like amazing girl or something and you basically has a totally new show that steps on no toes.
>with a single fricking thing HB related at all. Just make a new show.
What baffles me is there is only one toon character ans he's an OC. He sticks out like s sore thumb,
It wasn't funny.
The only people I've seen praise this show are waifugays, and they would watch their waifu sit in front of a wall of paint drying if it meant being able to watch their waifu for another few hours, so their opinions don't matter.
Bottom line, it just wasn't funny. The jokes were tired and cliched (Oh ha ha male superhero wears skimpy outfit. Not like Dick Grayson hasn't been beating that drum for 30 god damn years.) , nobody had any comedic chemistry.
>make girlboss spin-off of funny show with tongue-in-cheek jokes about old HB cartoons >it's not funny >there's no jokes >there's not even any HB characters >acts like you're supposed to enjoy it just because it's related to that other thing you liked
Made no sense and didn't feel like a true sequel.
In the first series Phil didn't consider dogs people, here there is a dog that was apparently part of the main CEO board.
They state that she was birdgirl since childhood when in Harvey Birdman she just created the suit on the spot and it is implied she didn't know about Birdman up until she was almost an adult.
She never mentions Harv as her main inspiration ever, as if he never existed.

Well, maybe if it was funny it might have done better.
The original show was funny because of all the perverted sexual harassment jokes. This didn't have that because women aren't interested in sex.
>ride the coattails of a funny, well-liked show

Took all the things that made HB interesting and discard it. Leaving it as a lifeless husk
I wonder why

Harvey birdman's time has passed a long time ago, remember that one the show came back to mock trump that no one remembers or cares?
It still had the same humor, but somehow Birdgirl didn't

try the psp game later, it is just poor man's ace attorney but it is real fun.
It's ok to like something shitty but at least admit it.
For every funny joke it had, there were like 3 that just didn't land. Not a good ratio.
It was unfunny.

If they had not added the "H" then I would have automatically assumed the opinion was less than honest, dishonest even. It's an important distinction.
>Why do you put the H in IMHO?
You're thinking to hard about this dude. I just put it there
It was woke. Perhaps too woke even.
Birdgirl wasn't a super funny character in an of herself and can't carry a show.
They forgot to make it funny.

I liked it. A lot of people here don't seem to get that Paget Brewster is the appeal, what fricking plebs.
It wasn't funny.

lel
remarkably unfunny
had absolutely 0 reason to be connected to birdman at all
No one liked her in the original outside of the gag of her dad wanting to frick her
The bird didn't see the glass ceiling.
Bottom line, it just wasn't funny. The jokes were tired and cliched (Oh ha ha male superhero wears skimpy outfit. Not like Dick Grayson hasn't been beating that drum for 30 god damn years.) , nobody had any comedic chemistry.
Still one of the best sequences of gags in the series.
2 scoops
It was an unfunny comedy made exclusively for 20-something white women.
