>General Graves could you do me a favor and see if we're still on schedule?
>I'll check.
Damon was the best part of both his Nolan films. Plebs disagree.
What's the other one? I legit forgot lmao. Was it Dunkirk or some other shit?
Interstellar
Nolan's script and directing.
>Nolan's script and directing.
He's truely lost it
Oppenheimer was so bad i walked out after the piss weak nuke scene
Oppenheimer actor tierlist
S - Casey Affleck, Benny Safdie, Tom Conti, Gary Oldman
A - Jason Clarke, David Krumholtz, Josh Hartnett, Emily Blunt
B - Cillian Murphy, RDJ, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh
C - Everyone else
That's a pretty bad assessment. Murphy and RDJ are very good. Casey is just doing himself for the umpteenth time.
S+: Devon Bostick
Christopher Nolan has a special talent in making the lead actor look not like a lead.
I also really liked Safdie's peeformance but also correctly guessed that it would be overlooked
nah his ugliness ruined every scene he was in for me
He's one of the weirld looking actors where it makes the performance better.
I liked the guy from that French sci fi film nobody likes. He was quite good. Robert Downey Jr just played Robert Downey Jr again though.
F - Alden Ehrenreich
That boy cannot act
>Jason Clarke over anyone
he should have his own tierlist
him and and all the other shitty aussie actors Hollywood uses
>not a single mention of Kenneth Branagh
He did more than alright
OLDMAN WAS IN THIS MOVIE? Just looked it up, he was TRUMAN? How does that son of a b***h do it?
Krumholtz was S, he was great
Pugh put in an A tier performance, she was just distracting ugly and fat
Quaid deserves at least a B for his bongo playing
>Why did Matt Damon forget how to act during this scene?
He knew how to act?
Isn't Nolan one of those morons who doesn't do multiple takes even though he has more than enough funding to use more film?
>actor made a bad take
>director keep it to the final cut
Whose fault?
Actors have to bring their A game on the first take when you're closing downtown streets to film.
>when you're closing downtown streets to film.
Why is this tolerated?
City gets paid. People in the city get hired (police and whatnot)
>we are on a tight schedule here so we can't take many takes. Do your best team!
then Matt Damon went full moronic out of spite.
Damon was great
Are those the four simple words that have been whispered since the time of the Romans?
Editor who used that cut.
what if they didn't get a second take
>build him a thread
Thank God I cannot distinguish good from bad acting. I enjoyed Damon.
Does the dialogue in period flicks like this ever seem too 'modern' to anyone else? Like the writers never really make an attempt to capture the essence of the era, it's just treated as a backdrop for a drama whose characters may as well have been from the 21st century by the way they speak and act. The mannerisms, the sensibilities, the personalities. Would a general born in the 19th century really say something like "the most important thing to ever happen in the history of the world"? I dunno, maybe I'm overthinking it.
I think you're conflating the way people performed (in movies and televised hearings) and the technology they were recorded on as part of their everyday sound and mannerisms.
I know people in Shakespeare's time didn't talk exactly like in Shakespeare's plays but they didn't talk like us either. And so on. Surely people weren't talking exactly like us in the 1940s. I get there are limits for practicality and accessibility but I like it when there feels like an attempt at at least being pseudo-authentic was made.
Yeah absolutely, not a minute you believe you are watching something set in 1940s
Its tough to actually talk like someone from the 40s.
It isn't like you have a lot of recordings of random people just bullshitting.
>nyeahh see?
it's that simple
Yeah I get that, I don't need dialogue that'll make an anthropologist blush, all I really want is something that doesn't sound just like we do. In the same way productions about ancient Rome/Greece will have some regal sounding English guys speak in a dramatic pseudo-old-timey way. And maybe the low-class slave will sound wienerney. About as authentic as a caveman with a machine gun, but at least they don't sound exactly like regular middle-class modern dudes. I think everyone agrees that'd be far worse.
One recent rpetty good acting role from Damon is that movie Stillwater. His petformance in that was great and very nuanced
The splitting of the atom SHOULD HAVE been the most important event in human history equal with the creation of fire or permanent settlements, surpass the likes of the lightbulb.
It should have solved all energy issues and led to a revolution in scientific progress and wealth. We should have had nuclear powered rockets on Mars by 1970. I can't fricking believe how badly humanity has squandered it all and we've actually regressed in many ways.
This isn't really political btw, china sucks too and has a hand in tech stagnation.
maybe we should have worked with the nazis instead of against them.
nazi troonys shouldn't have surrendered so readily (80% surrender rate)
nazis were way behind nuclear physics vs. the US and dismissed it as "israelite science" while they wasted money trying to make land battleships and find Odin's spear
captain america the first avenger was real?
The SS had an occult unit that they poured millions into to find various mythical artifacts from across religions to harness their power. In the end, they only find a (phony) piece of the True Cross dating to the 17th century. This was at a time where the war was going increasingly desperate for Germany and they could have used something like a reliable 4 engine strategic bomber or an intelligence agency able to predict anything.
Bullshit. They had some expeditions in an archaeological sense but what you’re claiming is pure hollywood nonsense
blame chernobyl and the simpsons
I’m so glad Oppenheimer did well at the box office, so Nolan can keep making pretentious movies that make anti-Nolan gays cope and seeth
Didn't watch it and never will. Suck my dick homosexual
You can't even get hard anymore b***h breasts
Objectively false. You're now going to suck my dick, turn gay, and wreck your home life. It's never been more over
Was surprised to see Josh in Oppie's movie
>oppie, where's the stop button?
>it's right there. See, I drew it with a magic marker.
On a small enough timeline, Man discovering masturbation is the most important thing to happen in the history of mankind.
Everyone forgot to act in this movie. It's incredibly bad.
I thought it was bad delivery in the trailer but when I saw it in the context of the full scene it fit. I think the over the top way he says it is supposed to be kinda cringe. The look Cillian gives the guy after is great.
