Did anyone find the later seasons kinda boring ?
Earlier seasons seemed to have had a bigger cast that engaged in the action stories.

In season 6 until 7 most of the cast seems to have just "retired", with just the Monarch and Gary actually doing cool stuff.
Rusty didnt do anything besides babysitting a heroes/villains meeting.
Brock became a bodguard again who does even less stuff what Hatred did as a bodyguard in earlier seasons.
Hank and Dean just live their lives with the ocasional villain/hero meetup.
Dr mrs the monarch became a boring b***hy boss that just does offscreen stuff, along with the rest of the council members.

It was really close to in the last season, but I think the next season would have cemented it. The writers realized "oh crap this comedy show is actually getting serious" and they also would have kept the show going forever if they could. I think its better it dies a heros death with one last movie as a deus ex machina from cancelation

I still enjoyed them immensely, but there's not much for Brock/Vatred to do anymore so the action angle is pretty much gone. I actually find Shiela's arc to be more interesting than Malcom despite her lack of screen time, he's been on a pretty predictable trajectory for ages.

Considering the leads were in their mid 50's in S1 it kinda always was, they just pretended to be relevant to the hero/villain industry for a while and did some pulp cartoon spoofs in the process.

      Anonymous

It started with season 5. Seasons 5, 6, and 7 had some great points but nothing has matched how much of a blast season 3 and 4 were. Personally I think season 4 would've been a decent ending for the show.

      Anonymous

You're totally right. The series and the characters in it all got bored of the shit. They wanted to do a "Rusty collapses the family company" extended bit but they accidentally did it too well and too fast with him firing everyone, the rest of the two seasons just felt inevitable, like of course the company goes breasts up, of course Jonas is evil, of course Monarch gets out of his crimes squeaky clean. The only surprises was involving Blue Morpho and Venturion, but those plot threads went out the door after episode 1 of S7. Iirc they just forgot to give S6 its big finale, miscalculation, so they had to make the climax of that arc S7's opener and then after that nothing was available to work with so it was just "Dean go to college".

Is it bad that I was happy for Dean when he got with Serena? I mean yeah it was shitty for him to do that but at the same time Serena was in on it too, and it just showed how far Dean had come from being a little b***h in the first few seasons. It's more that she realized she had more in common with Dean than she did with Hank. She was also gradually losing patience with Hank because, while she found his antics charming in small doses, he never learned to tone it down.

Everyone thought she was a black widow because her husbands kept dying, Rusty wanted to get with her because he thought that she would treat him well before trying to kill him and that Brock would prevent him from actually being killed, plus it would effectively be no strings attached since she would ultimately be dead or arrested. But it turned out that she wasn't a black widow at all, she just had a string of husbands who all died due to other reasons, which may or may not have something to do with the fact that she was also secretly a bride-themed superhero named Novia who used to be Dr. Mrs. The Monarch's arch back when she was Lady Au Pair.

I dunno but it's mostly age of the reference
Having a 80's or 60's reference fits better with the show, so when you get Star wars reference, the "keep toys in a box" jokes from 2000s it just makes it more jarring if you remember those times.
