Exactly, they don't care about the feminist undertones, all they see is a movie about a pretty girl who likes pink. Girls secretly want a return to hyper-feminity even though they won't admit it.

Barbie is well known to be a girls toy for girls for empowering girls, etc. So the movie isn't some gotcha moment or surprise. On top of that, the man still is still a badass and takes over barbieland without even trying.

It's because The Marvels *isn't* a woke movie. People, especially women, like watching stories with pro-feminist social commentary. They regularly come out in droves for movies that do that.

But nobody cares for the confused mess that is The Marvels, and it doesn't even HAVE any woke themes. People only come to watch it because they saw the ads.

Women like superheroes like Batman and Iron Man because they wear nice suits, look handsome, and throw cool parties. When women see Iron Man they don't think 'I want to wear that suit and shoot aliens' like what they did with Pepper Potts. They think 'maybe he would invite me to a cool party and buy me a $10k dress and I'd take photos with him for all the magazines and Instagram!'

This is also why Superman isn't that well liked by women. Selfless boy scout ideology and working at a newspaper doesn't bring in much cash.

Marvel fatigue is a real thing. They have like what now, thirty something marvel movies, and God knows how many TV shows. And I'm not calling Barbie original, but it's the first time they made a proper Hollywood version of it, so women still flocked to it. Chances are the inevitable sequel won't do anywhere near as good, simply because the novelty of it won't be there anymore.

The foot is the greatest overall indicator of female beauty and overall feminity. A woman who takes care of her feet knows her place in the world. She isn't supposed to be laboring which would make her feet rough or working an office job that would make her grow bunions. They're supposed to be lovers and caretakers, which is what a nice pair of well maintained soft feet indicates.

I find it funny that liberal society has gone so far with female liberation and feminism that they've circled back to the patriarchy. The need to dress up women like men, inserting them into male dominated activities shows you that they place more value in masculinity and their disdain for femininity.
A strong woman is no longer a representation of feminine virtues like empathy, patience, intuition and nurturing, but just violent hypercompetitive stoics.

The haters are pathetic. Completely fricking pathetic. "Boo, hoo, I'm so moronic and shit and I like to try to make fun of Brie (and fail *MISERABLY* at it) because she's so much smarter and successful than me, hoo". It's jealousy, pure jealousy, but you wouldn't dare mock her to her face because no matter how tough you try to be online you know she'd kick your fricking teeth in even if she didn't care to (which she won't btw because she has way more important things going on).

Just frick off you fricking entitled incels, the trailers were fine and the movie was fricking great. if anyone fricked this movie it was management. KEVIN FEIGE and BOB IGER failed Brie. KEVIN FEIGE and BOB IGER NEED TO GO. my Brie owes you shit. frick this board. I almost kicked my cat in the face because of how mad you all make me.

I didn't really like Barbie but ultimately it was pretty tongue and cheek with its feminism. The cast was really good and I can appreciate that it was a well made movie on a technical level.

I've not seen The Marvels, but it looks like complete slop. The only actress who is endearing is the pajeeta. The effects are so awful they should be embarrassed. It looks more like a live action power rangers movie than anything else.

Barbie was advertised as a fun musical with cute outfits about a woman finding herself
(I didn’t see it so I don’t know if it was a fun musical)
Women don’t hate “attractive women” since even fat women think they are hot shit.
What do women dress up like for Halloween or for cosplay ? loose harley Quinn or skimpy outfit Poison Ivy

Probably because Barbie as a brand has always been part of most women's lives while Captain Marvel is male content trying to appeal to women. There is no connection. Barbie could have been the biggest piece of trash ever made and women would still go pay to watch it.

  46. 6 months ago

You're a moron if you b***h about Barbie because of feminism. As a man you should not go in to a Barbie moving expecting anything less. The problem is that they force that shit into the movies that are supposed to appeal to men too.

There's something about the tone of Barbie too. It feels like it was written by a woman who was just getting in some good spirited jokes while ultimately loving dick. The Captain Marvel movies feel like they were written by brainrotted venomous dykes.

      >You're a moron if you b***h about Barbie because of feminism.

Because it’s Barbie, every girl knows Barbie, every girl played with Barbie growing up, the movie looked like a Barbie movie should so naturally girls wanted to see it. Just like how every boy knows and played with Pokémon and star
Wars growing up, imagine how successful Star Wars and Pokémon live action movies if they starred white males and thus everyone wanted to see them.

If you strip away the woke veneer, Barbie is a decent movie. Cut out that nonsensical angry rant by Gloria at the end and rework the Ken storyline, and you have a solid movie.
The Marvels has nothing going for it. Not the script, not the actors, not the special effects, and not even the political angle. It can't be fixed.
