Same reason they hate Michael Mann's Miami Vice.
I caught so much shit from people for loving this movie. I was working in a theatre when it came out and would always watch it when it was a slow day. Best job I ever had honestly.
Never stop praising Miami Vice. Always talk about how good it is. Based Mann. Based Farrell. just efin based.
>Based Mann. Based Farrell.
They have both openly said how shit it is.
The dialogue is stilted and awkward. Vince Vaughn has trouble playing a gangster, I like him a lot but he was badly miscast in this. The rest of the cast is fine but I think the series was rushed out the door because the first season was so popular
Vince is kino in this. Anyone who dislikes his performance has soft hands.
>Vince is kino
You were the poster hyping Prison Fight on Cell Block C
That is a good film too.
Vince is fine. The casting in general is fine. It's entirely a garbo script.
Vaughns character and velcoro carried the season. If anything it was his dumb prostitute wife that was insufferable. She’s lucky she has such nice breasts.
Because Vince Vaughn is a worthless joke of an "actor"
No
>I just really like big dicks
What did she mean by this?
she's a size queen
She's mocking the HR lecture guy by saying obscene shit instead of predictably playing the "vulnerable woman" role. S02's jabs at political correctness are one of my favorite things about it and probably one of the reasons it was panned by many critics.
>the mental gymnastics dicklets perform to convince themselves their "totally average" 6 incher is enough to please women
Lmao
All women CRAVE big wiener.
Is Rachel a nymphomaniac in the series?
Yeah.
>Why did people hate season 2?
cast sucked and the story sucked
This is not a common criticism of the show, you just have poor taste
>filters redditors (No rust or muh comfy season 1 feels)
>Filters chuds (gay and woman characters)
It's an npc curb stomper. Only the soulful can handle s2
>kino as frick
You need to recalibrate your frick meter
The Area51 video game shootout was when I completely gave up. Granted, it was long and boring and they hyped Velcoro scenes as cant miss shit only to let down when it aired. He is still the only thing worth watching, but they over played teasing next scenes.
The homosexual was a boring character, but had the most insight of the city plot. The big reveal was a remake of China Town or LA Confidential.
McAdams was forced and annoying. They used 5 intersecting characters to distract from a lackluster plot with red herrings everywhere. Just writers bag of tricks to put something out on an accelerated timeline
>Finally got around to watching it and it was kino as frick
Succinctly summarize the plot for me real quick
Diamond robbery with corrupt cops back in the day. Kids of the robbery victims kill guy involved. Murder victim is involved in big property deal with Vince vaughn who loses all of his money and fights to claw his way back. Meanwhile task force of police no one wants to work with is assembled with gets assigned to investigate case by corrupt police department (they are not supposed to succeed.)
Ok and what is the third season about?
Rape
I didn't hate it. It was a solid 7/10. I DID however hate season 4
because they were too stupid to understand that it wouldn't be Woodie and McConaughey and complained about it constantly
terrible dialogue, meaningless characters with zero depth, and a shitty, meandering plot
/tv/cels pretend to love it because they're heckin contrarians
Finished my first S02 rewatch yesterday and yeah it's great, much better than I remembered it, may well be better than S01. Vaughn's acting is fine, a bit try-hard, who cares. You get the occasional Pizzolato groaners in the dialogue too but that's okay (anyone notice how McAdams sometimes tries to salvage them by acting embarrassed by what she just said?) But yeah I love everything about it, the relentless oppressive atmosphere, the byzantine noir plot, characters, performances, soundtrack, it's just excellent. I even liked Woodrugh this time around. Velcoro may be the best TD character.
I agree that it's better than season 1 and that Velcoro is the best TD character. If you voice this shit all the soulless insect brained posters come of the woodwork and start chittering the word "contrarian".
As far as I'm concerned anybody who can watch this and walk away complaining that it wasn't like season 1 is an absolute subhuman and not worth listening to. S2 is hard hitting shit while season 1 may as well be a comic book by comparison.
>You get the occasional Pizzolato groaners in the dialogue
This is what makes the show memorable, regardless of which of the three Pizza-headed seasons we're talking about. People who complain about the ridiculous, edgy dialogue don't get it.
Critics used to actually be, well, critical and harder on shows/movies, Now of course critics fellate shit like season 4. If the first season is a 10/10, season 2 is a 9/10 or 8/10, but because it was not quite as good as the first it got badly underrated.
I'd put both S1 and S2 at an 8/10 but I like season 2 more because it has better characters and the ending doesn't suck.
>contrarian turns his attention to true detective
finished my rewatch of the first 3 seasons before i dig into 4 (i dont have high hopes)
both 1 and 2 are very strong, right after finishing 2 i was leaning towards 2 being even better. farrel was fantastic.
different seasons, both excellent in any case. i enjoyed 3 as well, it's not as strong but i enjoyed the atmosphere and both main characters. maharshalala ali is very enjoyable on screen.
For me the action scenes were a huge let down. The big shoot out and the one at the end were horrible.
For the same reason people hate their second girlfriend - she's not their first love, but after several relationship they realize they didn't appreciate her enough... ugh, you know the feel, right?
It had some good aspects, like Vince and Colon Farrells memeworthy acting. I didn't really like the homosexual characters though. caspere knew this...
Everyone says the dialogues are shit. Can someone who remembers the dialogues write them here? I haven't seen the series yet and I want to know what they are talking about
>bad thing actually ....LE GOOD
>good thing actually....LE BAD
Season 2 is only bad if you're a bad person.
