I'm sure she probably views it as her magnum opus so she likely has little motivation to work on something else.

Steven Universe was a work of genius

        It's a cheap DBZ fanfiction.

Honestly based. Unless she's making another series it's what I'd do. Make my shit and leave is the objectively correct thing for content creators.

Not to stroke her massive clit but I have to agree with this. It's a gigachad move

Hey man after like 5-6 years I'd be pretty frickin' burnt out over discussing the series in general.

People like her are expandable resources. Once they fulfill they paper in the culture way they get discarded.

With the amount of network bullshit both her and her husband had to go through it's no surprise she'd just silently retire. It's better to go out quite then become an Alex Hirsch type who spends his days b***hing about networks on Twitter.

And Kiff's creators recently got greenlight for a second series at Disney TVA while Alex Hirsch's second show went back to the development phase at Netflix

She got two series and a movie. With the amount of fricking back bending she got from cn she couldve helped her husband out. Ian Jones quarty got royally fricked by cn for years.

Implying the 'madness' wasn't about her time working on SU.

And it's not very good, though I envy her ability to just make one song a year and then frick off by herself for the rest of it. An ideal life.

Not really that necessarily. If you're buying a big house it's gonna have some extra rooms. Even lifetime bachelor celebrities have mansions with a bunch of extra rooms.

Frankly I'm surprised more people don't disappear off the face of the Earth after hitting it big and making enough money that they no longer have to work

I'm not sure that any of these shows will set the creators up for life, but they will have a nice nest egg out of the deal. Most of them end up still doing storyboards or other assistive roles on other productions after they finally recover from showrunning.

      >CN showrunners get big bucks!
Not unless their contract includes merch and the show explodes

The same reason Ward and Van Orman and JQ and to a lesser extent Quintel disappeared: they were destroyed by the job of CN showrunner.
CN studios had showrunners doing 5 jobs and boarders doing 3, the underpayment and long grueling hours are just not something most people are willing to do, especially after having done it once already and having that show to their name.

I've pieced together evidence from MiraculousTang hinting at this. First Tang made a blog post talking about how Zuke got her a gig on SU. Later on, on Twitter Tang makes a comic about her time working at CN:

      https://twitter.com/ranchuppi/status/1499926729200050179/photo/1

This doesn't specify its Sugar so it might not be her, but it still shows you exactly how bad the behind-the-scenes were.

Yeah, CN and Nick in the last decade or so have had very exploitative business practices. It likely goes back to losing the network ad revenue of the pre-streaming era but that doesn't excuse overworking and underpaying people who are only willing to take it due to passion and inexperience

Thurop Van Orman directed Angry Birds 2 and has a new show at Disney (pic related) while Ian JQ announced that he developed a film at Netflix

Weren't a lot of the 2010s generation of animators next to impossible to work with as well?

Someone I know who works at WB (who signed an NDA) said she had a show in the works but it was canned along with a bunch of WB projects for tax write offs.

she's a rich kid. SU was a vanity project.
she never had any interest in being a career animator. that's why her show sucked
