Same reason the Love Guru is shit---when Mike gets too much power he refuses the collaborate with any editorial voice. Jay Roach, a corporate today, sure wasn't going to say shit.
we didn't even get a "son of austin powers" seems like that's what they were setting up for later. not saying it would have worked but I'd pick it up in the $5 dvd bin for sure.
I am glad he left it at Goldmember, where it was already starting to get stale, but I do wonder what a Austin Powers pisstake of the snorefest that is the Craig era of Bond would have been like.
>Austin Powers 4 >Direct sequel to first movie, follows Austin and Vanessa’s half-human, half-gem it daughter >She’s a “girls get it done” Daniel Craig spoof rampaging through a Roger Moore camp world >She has sexual tension with the Kylo Ren style enemy, a thinly veiled update on Doctor Evil… who is revealed to be a pawn of the actual Doctor Evil, now kept alive on a elaborate life support crane machine >Austin is called out of retirement after being cancelled for his comments about the Dutch >Father and Daughter must team up in an elaborate spoof of the Craig era films, with a riff on the church brawl from Kingsman 1 tossed in somewhere, along with a parody of the taxiway takeoff from Top Gun Maverick.
According to Craig, the Powers movies is what cause the Bond franchise to go down the route it did and became more serious in tone because they were no longer able to do gags and jokes.
This is a clever way to make Austin Powers threads.
Negative threads usually last longer because people who like it will defend the movie and someone will eventually post a funny scene then other people will post their favourite scene and so on.
Austin Powers movies are complete and utter shit and it amazes me that it lured anyone into the theaters at all. Only thing that could have made them worse would be if Jim Carrey had played Powers. Gads!
The first 2 never fail to make me laugh
Goldmember is HILARIOUS and I'm tired of pretending it's not
I hate to admit that the silhouette scenes and the radar dick jokes and make me laugh every time
I LOVE GOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD
The majority of people do not deserve this level of satire.
I feel like Myers knows not to make a fourth one, and I'm so fricking happy for that fact.
because colin quinn wasn't in it
it didn't and it ended while it was ahead
Same reason the Love Guru is shit---when Mike gets too much power he refuses the collaborate with any editorial voice. Jay Roach, a corporate today, sure wasn't going to say shit.
>Fail
Has to be bait
It never got another movie after 3 and it's not remembered anymore.
it had 3 successful movies and they called it a job well done. People quote Dr Evil to this day
>NOOOOO U MUST MAKE AUSTIN & FURIOUS: FAST POWER 17 FOR A MOVIE TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Fricking zoomers, man, they don't know when to stop.
No shit buddy, check the archive for this exact thread text and image
It's just another episode of "mentally ill homosexual seeks attention online"
Goldmember was a total dud, and was not funny at all.
how did it fail? they were slam dunks in the box office and in the cultural zeitgeist
>fail
I hate zoomers so much.
Because of you
it had a trilogy, it rans it course. its still super quotable and rewatchable. it didn't really fail.
they ran jokes into the ground and then kept going.
It's gross and unfunny. That simple.
You might not like the austin powers series, but I dooooooooooooooooooooo
Heh
>M-mole
one million dollars
Doctor evil is a chud.
youre replying to a bot thread btw
>Myers has to blame bots instead of dealing with the fact that AP failed
every thread on Cinemaphile is a bot thread
What's actually the benefit to making a bot thread like this.
Data mining/teaching AI
It said all it had to say, and then it tried to keep talking.
we didn't even get a "son of austin powers" seems like that's what they were setting up for later. not saying it would have worked but I'd pick it up in the $5 dvd bin for sure.
id prolly would have liked a dr evil spinoff movie or a son of dr evil movie
riiight
How is having a series of 3 wildly successful movies considered a failure?
I am glad he left it at Goldmember, where it was already starting to get stale, but I do wonder what a Austin Powers pisstake of the snorefest that is the Craig era of Bond would have been like.

Frick, I'd actually watch that
According to Craig, the Powers movies is what cause the Bond franchise to go down the route it did and became more serious in tone because they were no longer able to do gags and jokes.
The anti-Asian racism was a bit much considering how many Americans now are Asian.
You either die, an hero, or take it up the ass by a guy named Stefaniolopia
>Why did Mike Myers fail?
Is the correct question
Because goldmember had a resolution that ended the plot basically
all 3 were juvenile dogshit
god you're so mature and cool
yes
This is a clever way to make Austin Powers threads.
Negative threads usually last longer because people who like it will defend the movie and someone will eventually post a funny scene then other people will post their favourite scene and so on.
>You said 'my father'.
>NO I DADNT
>one of the most iconic comedy franchises ever "failed"
Why do you keep making this thread?
It would be kino if they made another one parodying the overly serious grimdark tone of the Craig movies
Austin Powers movies are complete and utter shit and it amazes me that it lured anyone into the theaters at all. Only thing that could have made them worse would be if Jim Carrey had played Powers. Gads!
