For as much as people like to say the same about Marvel movies, mob movies are way more cookie-cutter.

Mobs dont really exist anymore with italians rising the social ranks over the past 30 years. Most of the crime in america is centered in the black community and central america now and they arent as kino as the mob

Exactly. It is no coincidence that the 20's-30's and the 70's-80's, times where the Italian Mafia was making news headlines and to a extent came to define 'Crime' in the popular imagination, were also so the production of lots of Mob films.

      Correct answer
I used to work for AirBNB, I remember I had to keep dealing with a ghosted "mobster" who was using short term rentals to evade NY rent control laws.
Big tech is insane, I had to keep telling him something was wrong with his account instead of the truth, so he would call every day to see if we had an update from IT.

There's no "mob genre" because there are so few mob kinos:

    -Scarface (barely counts but whatever)
    -The Godfather trilogy
    -Goodfellas
    -Casino
    Mean Streets
    -The Irishman
-Once Upon a Time in America
    And that's it...

If there's a police deparment involved in the plot then is more of a detective movie

I have certain “connections” with the Turkish mob in Europe (before you ask, I’m not Turkish myself), and they LARP the Italian-American mob really hard (literally every capo-equivalent I know has a commissioned painting of themselves with Don Corleone or Tony Soprano in their office). However, I think a lot of the similarities are just universal to mobsters.
Kind of weird that there aren’t any movies about the Turkish mob in Europe yet. There’s a whole bunch of shit about the Moroccan mob but those guys are boring morons. Turkish mob are hilarious.

I will bait. How dangerous is the Turkish mob? Let's say, I get into a fight with one of them for fun. How would they take revenge?

Sopranos destroyed the genre by being too good. It set a standard so high it left no way to go back to the way mob movies were before.
