Basically. It wasn't considered "seething". You were just making fun of something ridiculous, which was totally normal and acceptable. It wasn't until the zoomer generation that everyone became gays about "bullying" and the only winning move became to never react to anything ever lest you be accused of "taking bait" and "seething".

well, they were definitely not fans of prostitute-culture and openly mocked homosexuals and trannies
Many many episodes had the "moral" that children should not be exposed to sexual things at all.

Celebrity is just a status. She had it innately because her father was a hotel tycoon. They had it because they worked hard in a skilled field and got lucky. I would argue that story is as old as time.

        moral degeneracy

Yeah, because we all know that South Park promotes wholesome family values and important life lessons.

I think you can still have morals while being comedic in nature. Lots of the early and middle seasons were specifically moral in nature, how many times has south park played with the concept of "scary individual is actually just misunderstood because society didn't educate enough about them". Not saying matt and trey are some paragonal geniuses but south park on the whole leans towards accepting and promoting loving your family and aiming to make sensible choices by showing outlandish opposites.

I live in bongland, I can't give specific names as they will do my location, but in my area there are tons of estates that got sold off, started as estates for the super wealthy and all have been sold and now used as public buildings or tard houses, there are at least 3 within a 20 minute walk and a lot lot more the further into the country you go, in fact I worked at one such estate that got re done into a tourist attraction, these estates are all over the UK, all were owned by title holding families

Most normies don't know who the Rothschilds are. Or who Klaus Schwab is. They don't know what Blackrock is. They MIGHT be vaguely aware of George Soros, but only as "some guy the alt-right hates for some reason"

                Anonymous

This is true yet you can find entire books and websites dedicated to their family history because, despite normies not knowing about them, they have had a huge impact in the world and are still quite famous. I.e. they aren't literal whos only known about in a single county. Fame =/= normie celebrity status.

The entire country was once owned by the descendants of Normans knights whose names you would never have heard of but they owned entire counties and all the buildings, animals and people in them. Some of their descendants still hold large swaths of lands and have tens to hundreds of millions of pounds worth of assets, but most lost their wealth and slowly chipped away at their holdings to keep themselves going (it was beneath them to work). Many had to integrate back into the working class. Some migrated to the US, mainly the south, and became ranchers.

                >can you name literally any family that once had Hilton levels of wealth and notoriety
                "Notoriety", lol.

                Names like this:
                >Smythe
                >Fortescue
                >Darcy

Indicate descent from a Norman Lord. Literal aristocracy who owned people. Fricking "notoriety", el em ay oh. Americans don't know what wealth is.

You can read about all of these families extensively online and you mentioned in your own post that they still have incredibly wealthy descendants so I'm not sure how that solidifies your point or why you are trying to argue that they had no notoriety.

Not all, I just gave a few examples. There are hundreds if not thousands of distinct Norman names (I have one), and there are multiple families with the same names who descended from different knights. Smythe quite obviously means smith, for example, and I doubt William only brought one smith with him.

I was laughing at notoriety because you seemed to think being famous for being rich comes anywhere near enslaving an entire country.

Sure if you want a list of old money families who've fallen on, relatively hard times just look at a list of privately owned country houses and estates who's on the national trust or the like. Thanks anon. I did find some good examples just searching national trust estates, although it seems hard to tell just how wealthy some of these estates were. I read about the Hampden family estate as one example though, apparently they went broke and had to sell everything after Richard Hampden invested in the South Sea bubble with government money and their estate got inherited by another family they married into after all the Hampden male heirs died out. John Hampden was particularly noteworthy for his war in the First English civil war https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hampden

that's me, that's not what that implies at all, the houses around here were owned by well known people, I would dox myself because if I gave you a list of 10 names and all of them had an estate near one area (they owned multiple estates btw) it would be pretty obvious where I was located within the country, and I know that's not enough to find me or my exact location but autists found a flag by listening to frogs and looking at stars so I prefer to be cautious

SP making cartoons about how much they hate this or that used to be charming because they were just two guys making a crappy cartoon that strived to be offensive and ridiculous. Then the show gained visual fidelity, fame and wealth and suddenly they're the top dog. Now with the $900,000,000 deal they definitely aren't outsiders anymore so mocking another branch of the media empire seems less edgy and more petty especially when they leave more worthy targets alone. Remember when they spent two years seething over Trump and have given pedo Joe a free pass? Now watch as someone takes what I wrote and decides to derail the thread even though I just used them as an example.

For a time she was everywhere. Its one thing to be the hhot blonde on a reality tv show, but after The Simple Life her exposure took off. She was in a movie, she released her own song, she was getting pictures taken everywhere and thrust into the middle of the entertainment scene immediately. She was hanging with Britney Spears at her worst. She even coined "That's Hot!" as he catchphrase and was selling that on t-shirts for $100 each. By the time Matt and Trey focused a whole episode on her, the exposure was starting to wind down and they bsaically just animated what everyone had said about her and and was just more less pissing into an ocean of piss at that point. She laughed the episode off, either having watched it in its entirety or just saw the clips of it people were buzzing about and when asked about, she just brushed it off and shurgged, which probably pissed Matt and Trey off to no end. As others pointed out, the focal point of the episode is the concerned tone of getting little girls to emulate Paris or those shitty BRATZ dolls that had come out around that time glamourizing that lifestyle.

In the end, Paris stepped away from the limelight and Matt and Trey fill South Park seasons up with shit jokes about a weed farm and are desperate to try other things. Neither side won but nothing matters about it now.

Thats right they havent mentioned Biden even once. They made fun of every president since Bill Clinton and even a few mainline Presidential candidates. But silence on Biden

Very suspect. Every US president since the show started had beeen lampooned or mocked. Either they know he isn't president, or are in the same club now and don't want to rustle feathers. Trey and Matt lost their piss and vinegar of what made them popular and famous in the first place.

Because during the early 00's when celeb culture was at its peak, Paris Hilton was famous for 'doing nothing.' In all seriousness, back during those days, it was rare for rich socialites to be considered A-listers or famous. Sure, you could be famous for just being hot, but normally those people worked their way up through modeling or acting (Pamela Anderson, Monroe, etc.

Paris Hilton was the original Kim Kardashian. People would reee about her because she did seemingly nothing to get famous, just like how people seethe about the Kardashians and Jenners today. But back then, Paris was the first of her kind... Stone and Parker were just pissy because she carried herself as a 'stupid, spoiled prostitute' but they didnt realize she was actually pretty smart in creating a brand an parlaying that image to generate fame.

In the 2000s there was a whole class of young women called "it girls" who were famous for being famous (closest you have today would be the Kardashians). They would do and say absurdly stupid/bitchy/entitled/ignorant stuff, providing endless material for comedy writers and tabloid journalists. The writers and journos would in turn make fun of them, providing free publicity and making them even more famous in an endless symbiotic cycle.
