why did they choose to continue the way they did with Pullo and Vorenus' story? the plebian story arc kinda ruins the series for me, I thought them surviving the sea storm was ridiculous but their story lines Season is just them doing things because the plot somehow needed them to?

season 2 is like 3 seasons in one because hbo wouldn't pay for it to go on further.
They weren't even going to be in egypt until season 3 with season 4 being about antony and cleopatra's downfall with the season 5 ending the series with jesus
>season 5 ending the series with jesus
IMAGINE
they hint at it with the king herod stuff in the first season
It would the greatest season of TV ever. What a fricking tragedy.
You have The Chosen /misc/tard, don't act like you can tell the difference
>calling someone /misc/ for no discernible reason
Take your meds.
You're excessively excited about your Jesus media, don't play dumb
what a israeli thing to say
Case in point
hating Jesus is a israeli past time
Shit writing anyway with their once a lifetime coincidence every episode.
the gods are real in Rome, how could you not get that?
So tired of hearing about this ass show. Such overrated bro-dude slop. Domina outclasses it, if you guys haven't seen it. I promise.
lmao, get that terribly acted feminist shit out of my thread
It's literally incredibly acted, some of the best tv acting ever, but of course the /misc/tard has no taste or discernment in art. Shocking
And what of good Solonius?
I never saw that motherfricker once in the series where is he?
Rome. Duh.
They were trying to insert them into historical accounts. Like, getting shipwrecked actually happened, but it was Octavian and his friends that made their way to Caesar's camp (without running into Pompey, of course). The series is to some degree historical mad libs.
cleopatra's son is insanely cute shota hot
The gladiator fight when Pullo was sentenced to death was capeshit tier, same with the fight that killed Vorenus. What were they thinking
He managed to survive 1 month until reach Rome again just to die minutes after, ngl I find funny rather than sad
Second season is bullshit, the whole vorenus becomes a gangster arc, just stupid.
>gangster
Moron. He was a made man not some two-bit gangster.
You obviously do not understand what the word gangster means, idiotic zoomer child.
Do you? DO YOU?
Yes, I do. If you did as well you would understand that you cannot be a made man if you are not a gangster. Without a gang being made would not have any meaning.
Are you? ARE YOU?
I like it. Gives the show a touch of mysticism like they are characters in Roman Mythology.
>show called Rome
>season 2 out of 2 half takes place in greece and egypt
shit move, the city itself was one of the best characters. literally stopped giving a frick about the bro duo once they left the city. does anybody have any youtube recs for the ancient rome rabbit hole?
Rome is not just the city, pleb
no shit but the egypt part still sucked
it could've been a lot better
but w/ever, season 2 was doomed anyways
Some of the best scenes of season 2 are set in Egypt. Furthermore: if you knew anything about Rome at that time you would realize how closely it's fate was tied to Egypt, to have a show about Rome and not have Egypt in it would be unthinkable. Season 2 still sucks ass, but not because of Egypt but because of its rushed nature, it's out of character moments and pointless digressions (like everything about the israeli assassin)
bro i'm well aware of egypt's relevance that doesn't mean the show had to be there, would have been better if they stayed in mostly rome/yurop and the events in egypt were off screen. but that's just my opinion man.
And it's wrong. Spouting a wrong opinion wasting dubs - unforgivable.
>It's 2023 and Cinemaphile has turned to against Rome.
I don't even know why I come here any more.
>turned to against
illiterate esl donkey
i wish the blond teenboy played by max pirkis had sex with the boy prostitute instead of the girl

THAT GUY IN THE LOWER LEFT IS CUTE
Who is this being sponsored by, herald? How can I be a true Roman unless you tell me what to buy?!
Pullo and Vorenus were fine but the woman scenes were fricking unbearably boring

Atia and Joan from Mad Men are the best written women in tv. Yes, I unapologetically like older redheads with big boobies
Did Cicero really compare Marc Anthony with Helen of Troy?
Yes. Well kind of. It was published but he never gave the speech in public.
>As Helen was to the Trojans, so has that man been to this republic,—the cause of war the cause of mischief the cause of ruin The rest of his tribuneship was like the beginning. He did every thing which the senate had labored to prevent, as being impossible to be done consistently with the safety of the republic. And see, now, how gratuitously wicked he was even in accomplishing his wickedness
> You assumed the manly gown, which you soon made a womanly one; at first a public prostitute, with a regular price for your wickedness, and that not a low one. But very soon Curio stepped in, who carried you off from your public trade, and, as if he had bestowed a matron’s robe upon you, settled you in a steady and durable wedlock. No boy bought for the gratification of passion was ever so wholly in the power of his master as you were in Curio’s.
lol gay
I thought pullo and vorenus where the weakest part of the show, they should have focused even more on ceasar/antony/augustus and the other more historical characters.
Maybe then we would have gotten more kino shit luke cleopatras betrayal at actium.
I tried to rewatch it, but dropped it halfway through. It got sort of boring and meandering and just lost a lot of charm. Also I felt like the dialogue got worse, is it just me? The first couple of episodes and Servilia's death were still great though, same with S1 despite Atia and Octavia being wildly out of character. Atia at least was entertaining, Octavia was just an annoying bawd.
