Young obi with Qui-gon going on silly missions through the galaxy was what i wanted
yoousa hatted jaar jaar messa sad thinkings bout that
I honestly liked Jar Jar and spent my life being bullied by the hivemind into not liking him because everyone else did. And now is the time to stand up and say...I thought he was funny and George knew what I wanted in a star wars film.
Thank you Mr Lucas for giving us some good kino.
Your sense of humor must be put into question
Last time I watched TPM I laughed at Jah Jahs scenes. I dont like how the cynical shitfest intetnet tries to taint my child like appreciation of movies.
What scenes of Jar Jar made you laugh?
We're so far into contrarianism now people are praising jar jar binks.
My grandfather and I saw TPM on opening day together, his favorite character was Jar Jar. I'll always have those good memories with him.
I lol’d
Uh, Obibros?
Yeah I mean I've been through a lot of bad shit and I'll probably kill myself before too long. But it didn't turn me into a homosexual. Why is he a homosexual now?
>Why is he a homosexual now?
maybe he likes it.
nah m9 imagine your brother was the next antichrist lmao and YOU were responsible
>Luke did I ever tell you about that time Darth Vader almost killed me in a poetic justice was for leaving him to burn alive after almost killing him?....and he was a good friend.
Obi cuck Kenobi
>Obi Cuck Kenobi
all jedi are though
>the force... the force has changed
>implying Obi was a winner at the end of RoTS
In terms of combat, sure, but he lost everything else. Would you rather him be an emotionless Gary Stu without struggle? He never was.
He never was one to give up or be a coward but this show changed that.
He hasn’t practiced anything in a decade and doesn’t even have the mental clarity to properly use the force. The show hasn’t degraded or humiliated him anymore than the ending of RoTS did (so far, at least). We’re just witnessing the aftermath and how he bounces back.
I’m not defending what we’ve seen of Reva or some of the action scenes, but Obi’s arc isn’t an issue.
>He hasn’t practiced anything in a decade and doesn’t even have the mental clarity to properly use the force.
Which doesn't fit with the ending of ROTS where Obi-Wan is curious and excited when Yoda tells him to continue to learn the Force in order to talk to Qui-Gon's ghost.
The writers have used the PTSD excuse to make him 100% incompetent. There's no way a Jedi in hiding for 10 years would forget to use Leia's code name but they had to make him look like a complete buffoon in every single scene.
Also its just damn boring to do PTSD in a kids show because just like Luke in TLJ he will just flip a switch and fix all his problems in one scene after a talk with Qui-Gon. It's funny how only the white males "cut themselves off from the Force". Ahsoka lost everything Obi-Wan did but never gave up. Leia watched her son turn into a school shooter and her brother try to kill him but didn't tell the Force to frick off and was ready to train Rey.
Leia was ruined worse than Luke by Disney canon.
>failed wife
>failed mother
>liar
>failed politician
>failed Jedi
>ran the New Republic into the ground
>Ahsoka lost everything Obi-Wan did but never gave up. Leia watched her son turn into a school shooter and her brother try to kill him but didn't tell the Force to frick off and was ready to train Rey.
Um, sweetie? Women are better than men.
Kathleen Kennedy doesn’t give actual character arcs to females. Ever. She treats women like tiny helpless children who need to be protected from pesky things like flaws or arcs.
Great characters = great character arcs. Now tell me how many great female characters have been created since Kathleen took over?
Rey (all the jedi) Skywalker
>She treats women like tiny helpless children who need to be protected from pesky things like flaws or arcs.
I think that's most mainstream entertainment nowadays. If you imply that a woman needs to learn moral lessons, that would make the media go fricking ballistic.
>He hasn’t practiced anything in a decade and doesn’t even have the mental clarity to properly use the force.
That wasn't the case for Luke in TLJ. He didn't practice for years and picked that shit right back up.
That’s because Luke is canonically (at least) 3x as powerful as Obi Wan, if not more. According to George, Luke is the most powerful Jedi ever
Sorry, actually that's Leia and The girl from the sequel trilogy.
Leia and Luke have the same midichlorian count.
But Luke trained for 30+ years and Leia trained for 1+ year. So there is literally no comparing them. I would have loved to see Leia become a badass Jedi though.
He literally starts out as a hermit hiding from the past in episode 4.
He's not hiding from his past in 4. He has no problem readily admitting that he's a Jedi who fought in the Clone Wars, and he doesn't mind using his Jedi powers. He's on the planet for the sake of Luke and to hide from the Empire, which is not the same as hiding from your past
I would have given him a stronger ethical core than 'leave a man who needs help to die'.
Careful anon, you’re sounding kind of racist there.
Because the writers have heard the concept of character development and then saw that there wasn't enough to expand on between RotS and ANH.
So they have to do their damnedest to force some kind of deep character conflict into it even if it is moronic and stupid.
if the writers had been actually competent they would've used Kyle Katarn as a formular for the losing your jedi powers arc.
I didn’t mind so much that he would disconnect himself from the force’s Wi-Fi to avoid detection, but having him watching over Luke while being completely useless at fighting is moronic.
Even without the force Kenobi should be a highly trained individual with unreal amounts of experience who has done and seen it all more or less. He was a general for crying out loud.
To be fair, he is still competent against basic enemies from what we’ve seen in episode 3. The fist fight against the mooks in episode 2 was rough, but I guess they’re trying to show the rust coming off over the course of the series.
You'd think he would have kept himself fighting fit, maybe show himself doing some chin ups or having a jog.
that would trigger the fat sjws
Do jedi even do strength training? The training only seems to to be more like yoga and stretching.
He had to resort to using a civilian as a human shield in episode 3 of the show. Kinda seemed lame. I guess hom commiting war crimes is on brand though because he likes to do things like fake surrendering and making padawans into good friends
Pretty sure all jedis were given general status as a ceremonial appointment like Jar Jar
No they actually served as Generals to the clone armies
Have you even watched shit or is the sequals literally you introduction to starwars zoomer?
he's literally beat the absolute shit out of multiple groups of enemies. are you guys watching the show?
In what world a show called Kenobi is totally not about him, but instead giving some third rate character no one cares about a redemption arc? No one gives a shit about some angry, unhinged inquisitor who will invariably turn good.
I don't mind the subplot, but her force parkour across the rooftops was fricking ridiculous. At one point she backflips over a small gap for no other reason it seems but to look cool but instead it was cringe.
watch the racism, pal
are you actually that fricking moronic or is this just lazy bait? whatever here's your (you)
He's on the run and in hiding from a galactic empire, pretty much like all the /misc/ posters, do you think they're happy and normal?
>I just want to have fun stories about space samurai.
>This show isn't fun.
I can guarantee you none of the show makers have ever seen a single Kurosawa samurai film. It's so obvious that new creators are not on the same wavelength as old creators who made the series to begin with. They are on their phones 24/7 so more in line with twitter world than classic cinema or myth.
That's probably true. Though the Mandalorian had hints of Lone Wolf and Cub.
The Mandalorian also had Filoni on board, who understood Star Wars' influences.
I don't even think those people actually like movies. Most of their influences seems historical or ideological. We need to have a strong woman, Leia must be sassy and competent even as a toddler owning her silly white privilege cousin, there must be some kind of slavery reference, space trump stickers on a space pickup, and then the whole underground railroad thing.
They definitely don't. If they did they'd be more inclined to respect literally any part of any of this which they obviously do not.
Why did they degrade and humiliate the main character?
You have to be clinically moronic to even consider the idea of those two things being the same. That or you're 12 and still see the world purely on the superficial side.
>moronic original trilogy comparison #479
right on cue
C3P0 is the main character
Why did they degrade and ... etc etc
The show actually introduced Corran Horn. Is it possible that we’re actually going to get Luke Jedi Order Kino with Based Corran?
It seems like they are actually trying to conflate the EU and Disney timelines now.
Actually that's what everyone did want from this show, Punished Obiwan. I dunno what the frick you're whining about since you can watch one of the like four other shows for 'fun stories about space samurai'
He is a heterosexual male that is why
Season 2 should be autobiographical. He should stay on Tatooine protecting Luke but we should also flash back to various moments in his life to basically tell his life story from birth on.
Season 2 should end with the Obi Wan - Maul lightsaber battle from Rebels, and then Obi Wan watching Luke look at the twin suns and then fade out
George wrote them into a corner.
ROTS ending the way it did forces Obi-Wan to be on Tatooine for the entire reign of the Empire and to be a sad, defeated man who has all but given up, wasting away for 2 decades not helping anyone.
He basically has to not care anymore, otherwise he would be fighting the Empire.
The classy thing to do would be to not put him in such situations or better yet, don't make this show at all.
He doesn’t have to be sad though. He could just live a simple life watching over Luke, protecting him, and waiting to train him. Obi Wan is convinced that Luke is actually the chosen one so he has one more mission in life before he passes and that is protecting and training the chosen one. In a sense his mission is more important than a bunch of proto-rebels who run small anti-imperial missions and fail. By staying on Tatooine, Obi Wan does actually save the galaxy.
Would have been far easier to abandon Luke to coarse sand getting everywhere and instead training Leia from a young age on comfy Alderaan
No. Leia has protection and support and insane comfort on Alderran. Luke doesn’t. Bail protects Leia, Obi Wan protects Luke. Plus, Obi Wan has a quasi-religious conviction about the boy (which is ultimately proven correct)
>Obi Wan has a quasi-religious conviction about the boy (which is ultimately proven correct)
That he's a potential child murderer?
>Child
Ben was in his late 20s, almost 30, and a full grown man who has been with Luke for 15 years training. He had turned to the dark side and would wreck the galaxy. Luke had a passing thought about stopping it and that was it.
>he doesnt get the symbolism of SW, that both Yoda and Kenobi went into exile to patiently wait, train, meditate and keep an eye on Anakin's kids
ngmi rlm chud
If everyone wasn't so tired of Tatooine:
>10 years after
>Bandits are raiding farms and extorting them
>Obiwan gets wind that they're heading for Owen's farm
>He dispatches them but something on their persons shows that this is much larger then just simple bandits causing Obiwan to leave his post and eventually a quick off world trip to maybe something like narshadarr
The problem is that general audiences are tired of desert planets. Blame Disney for creating uninspired dogshit like, Jakku, Pissana and using tatooine for some fricking reason in Boba's show.
It's pretty fricking obvious it'll end with a reinvigorated and back to form Obi-Wan, he wasn't exactly a slouch in ANH
Why do people keep saying this? Did you not see Star Wars (the movie?)
You mean the one with the old man who was pretty gung ho about fricking with stormtroopers, haggling with a smuggler and dismembering dudes in a seedy bar, and then sneaking through a giant space fortress alone to sabotage it before embracing a meaningful death in battle? Yeah, I think I saw that one.
>uses the force competently
>actively engages in fighting the Empire
>holds his own with Vader
Did YOU watch the movie, anon?
>Why did they degrade and humiliate the main villain?
ftfy
Vader walking down a street killing people at random for the evils was stupid.
why did vader let him get away? surely a bit of fire doesn't prevent him from using the force to crush that robot that saves him?
why didn't that game of thrones woman shoot vader instead of shooting the storm trooper?
how did that brown sith get all the way to the other end of the tunnel without passing leia in the middle?
stupid episde of a stupid show
The show is just bad and the writers are moronic. I usually feel bad for hate actors get when the writing is horrible but even Wong is terrible. This show is a fricking dumpster fire
It is poorly directed, and the teleporting was a big issue, but you can argue the other points. Vader being down for some cat and mouse now that he's caught Obi's scent works fine, and the chick shot the trooper that was actively about to go snatch up Obi before cutting the rest off so the droid could get him out. If she just shot at Vader, the one trooper would still be on top of Obi and possibly just shoot him in retaliation, and they would have nothing else to focus on besides shooting back at her. It wasn't a well done conclusion to the episode by any means, but there are better things to dislike about it.
Vader always hated himself himself and wants to be put down like the idiot he is. Lighting a fire under Obi-wan's ass is his best chance at having good win some day, at least as far as he knows at the time.
I hope the show was just trying to convey that Vader is still conflicted and he can't find it in himself to kill his old friend. Otherwise is a bit stupid. He could have made the fire disappear with the force like the first time otherwise ..
Couldn't he also just force jump over it? Force speed run around it? Oh yeah I forgot in star wars everyone gets worse with time since they keep making prequels and giving people new powers they forget later on, it's a convoluted mess, just like the marvel garbage.
a rchive (.) ph (/) Pzszb
Thoughts?
So, are there going to be any flashback scenes with Obi-Wan and Anakin, so we can finally get more scenes with them being the best friends that they're supposed to be? We barely saw it in the prequels, and otherwise we've only seen it in the animated show
It’s coming in the next episode. I hope they do more full flashbacks next season. Most of next season should be Obi Wan training, getting his affairs in order, and looking back over his life.
>NO CLASSIC ALIENS ALOWED
>ONLY A FEW OF OUR BLAND PODGY EARTH TONES SQUINTY EYE MUPPET SHITTY RIP OFF ALIENS THROWN IN THE BACK GROUND THEN EVERYONE ELSE CAN BE HUMANS IN RAGS
Why are Disney so moronic?
the mole guy is just like what you want though
Lucas gets royalties when they use the original designs. They scrapped almost every one that they could get away with and replaced them with legally distinct knockoffs, which is why you sometimes see duller, brown versions of old designs. The "canon" reason for this is because the First Order enacted a genocide off screen and wiped but missed all the Chinese knock off races.
what they did to max rebo in the book of boba fett still pisses me off to no end.
Lucas does not get royalties any more. He sold all his rights. The only money he is still making from star wars comes inderectly through Disney stock he got in the deal.
The point is to give you the opposite of what you want and force you to voice your approval. Because being woke means feeling entitled to extort unconditional approval from others.
Another show about the best character of the prequel hijacked by the Skywalker circus with that insufferable smug little c**t Leia.
Yo even old samurai movies have character arcs.
He’s white.
I'm trying really hard to like this show. I don't mind what they've done with Obi-Wan, I was expecting the show to be about him rediscovering himself after losing faith in the aftermath of the Jedi's defeat.
I like Little Leia, she's adorable and totally feels like a 10 year old Leia to me. I'm not a big fan of how this show seems to be implying Leia met Obi-Wan ten years before ANH and somehow never put together that Ben is Obi-Wan, but I love how Little Leia reminds him of Padme and it makes him sad, and I loved the scene where she asks him if he's her father.
I also don't like that Vader and Obi-Wan have a fight, because it really undermines the whole "When last we met I was the student, now I am the master" line, which was already on thin ice based on ROTS. And I thought Vader randomly killing people was dumb, but whatever, he's in a bad mood.
But then there's the problem of Third Sister. It's not the character I hate, conceptually she's fine, and I even think her motivations and plans are solid. No, the problem is the actress is fricking TERRIBLE. Holy shit, she's so bad. How does someone that bad land a gig like this? She's completely unconvincing, wooden, and just...uncool.
Worse, she's surrounded by villains who ARE cool. The Grand Inquistor? Fricking awesome, such a sinister, creepy looking dude and I loved the way he talked. Then the Asian alien dude with the weird hat? He's cool too. I want to see more of him. But Third Sister? Jesus fricking Christ. She's pure tedium. Everytime she's on screen I'm like "I don't believe you! I don't believe you are an evil badass!"
Glad to see someone on the same page. Its still the midpoint of the series though, I'm still holding out that a second duel will happen that will put things into a more sensible perspective. Obi-wan getting it together, actually connecting with the force, and showing Anakin that he's still too young in some form would do a lot of good. That opening scene of the series was definitely a lot of fun, so there's still hope that they can put on a good fight before it ends.
Yeah the third sister just sucks assss. The problem with Lucasfilm is their so far up their own asses that whenever anyone would have legitimate complaints about the actress being crap they'd get labelled a racist and ignored.

Reddit love this show. Every single thread is talking about how awesome was the last episode or how they loved some scene. They love annopying leia too.
Nah, that couldnt be reddit paste.
Reddit
this is literally 100% copied from reddit isnt it
>I'm trying really hard to like this show
what the frick
It probably is, but I imagine redditors got mad at him for criticizing the black woman.
Just watched Obi-Wan and Vader's duel, and it made be appreciate how Lucas did it in RotS, even if it went on too long and was overindulgence. This just seems so flat, and that constant stop-and-go with shots that look the same makes it all come off as slow. Vader does his appearing out of nowhere shit three times in a row, and the end where he pushes Obi-Wan out of the fire, away from himself, and then tells a stormtrooper to go get him. Vader is right fricking there. He just put Obi into the fire and then force pushed him away. Why the frick didn't he just walk over there him or use the force to pull him back? Why did he decide to stop doing anything at that point and instead send a single guy to go fetch him when he's RIGHT FRICKING THERE A FEW FEET AWAY. And then the same fire starts again because of someone shooting it, and Vader just stands there looking like a moron instead of stopping the fire, walking through it or fricking walking around it. It all seems so fricking strange. The only excuse is if Vader let him get away on purpose, but then there's still the problem of it all being executed like a fan film.
And why not show flashbacks of Obi-Wan and Anakin together BEFORE the confrontation, thus allowing for more emotion by having the contrast of scenes of their friendship clash with the fight
So I'll say it again, I don't think Vader wants to win. He doesn't want to just punch down at Obi-Wan at his lowing point, he wants things to be made right. He does everything in his fricked up mind short of begging to get Obi-Wan to be a hero jedi again. As for their previous relationship, as if anyone watching the show isn't aware of their relationship, the show is only 6 episodes. They just don't have the time to fix everything the prequels did wrong on top of figuring out how to do their own shit right.
>As for their previous relationship, as if anyone watching the show isn't aware of their relationship,
It's been almost 2 decades since we last saw them together as friends. You need that reminder and you need it in the context of the show where we're seeing them duel again. Besides which, my other criticism stands. The scenes feel cheap, slow and rigid. Vader teleports three times in a row. They have similar shots of Vader appearing and Obi-Wan running away multiple times, and the part with the fire seems awkward as hell, and even if Vader lets him get away, it looks silly when it's just a narrow bit of fire that separates them
>the show is only 6 episodes. They just don't have the time to fix everything the prequels did wrong on top of figuring out how to do their own shit right.
The problem is that it's all backwards. If you don't have time, then don't have the confrontation take place in the first season. Of course, you and I both know that they fought in season 1 because due to the business side of things
i think they were trying to foreshadow vader reconsidering what he's doing when he was staring into the fire. There is no excuse for the push away, just lazy screenwriting.
It would have made more sense if obi wan started the fire and vader reacted in fear. Obi wan then taunts him for never getting over fear, or offers to help as he failed him and now he knows what fear is etc. Vader then loses it, breaks through obi wans force defence, extinguishes the fire, starts monologuing about the dark side and stepping forward over the fuel to watch obi wan choke. The lady then starts the fire which should have been much bigger, vader engulfed in flames panics and retreats. Drops obi wan in the flame and watches his old friend getting burned like he was before being rescued by the droid. Do a wide wide shot showing vader and the troopers cant reach them then show vader staring into the flames. Maybe even chuck in the echo of the i hate you exchange just to remind people of the prophecy and the reason luke and leia are important
please report back to your containment thread
So I suppose all the manchildren whining about Obi being depressed never watched Episodes 3 or 4?
Obi-Wan didn't act depressed in 4 at all. The most we see of his melancholy is when he talks about Anakin in his hut, and that's a few short lines
He's not some swashbuckling wisecracking in episode 4, he's a reserved, yet sometimes whimsical hermit. Obi in the show posses some of those qualities but is more depressed, clearly his growth is to become more zen by the time of the OT.
It's like OP only watched attack of the clones and thinks the guy should be acting like he does there
He was great in episode 4, he was whimsical and patient with Luke when needed, but when push came to shove he wasn't afraid to slice someone's arm off.
It was very clear he was a once noble protector of the weak who had seen some serious shit.
This Obi wan has the ptsd and nothing else.
>This Obi wan has the ptsd and nothing else.
Because the show is about him getting better.
That's what the show SHOULD be about. An Unforgiven style story of a lonely jedi in the desert who's lost everything who finds a reason to keep going and keep his old values.
Instead he has inquisitors chasing after him, is doing rescue missions for Leia and even battling Vader.
That is what the shows about.
I can’t wait for Obi-Wan to talk to Qui-Gon, gets motivated and we get to see an amazing Rocky IV tier training montage.
Its about a come back. The hero's return from a fall. Flaws make for an interesting character. Did you really want Obi Rei instead?
No we just want some consistency and quality of writing. Start spending more time watching the movies and making Obi-Wan likable than casting black female leads.
This show is so fricking bad.
Mando and Boba were great but clearly Disney has their trash garbage tier team working on this crap. Nit sure I can even bother watching for free.
Mando was a complete fluke. Boba was trash too.
Mando worked because the main incompetent goons at the top of lucasfilm were laser focused on Rise of Skywalker and just let Favreu and Filoni do their own thing.
Then of course once it became a hit they couldn't resist inserting themselves into the show to try and make it more profitable.
It's why the Grogu bullshit was cranked up to the extreme in the second season.
>Boba
>great
it was terrible.
Mando was class boba was awful , only made half decent by them putting mando,Luke and grogu in it
This is good , it’s more realistic rather than him just wading through stormtroopers with his glow stick
>Boba Fatt
>Great
There were exactly 2 good episodes - one with Din, and one with Luke. Outside of those two episodes, the rest of the show was a literal trash fire
Vader was killing people to draw Obi-Wan out of hiding. It's like you gays didn't see the clone wars show, they're both unrepentant heroes so anakin knows exactly what's going to get on obi-wan's nerves.
>clone wars show
not canon
Who is complaining about Vader killing people?
>watching anything but certified Lucas autism
Disney appreciates your stupidity
Wait until you look at writing credits
his name is there
>he wants to watch something "fun"
what a fricking homosexual
>Cinemaphile still hasn't learned to spot a diversity bait and switch using an established and beloved white male lead
It's been half a decade of this trope. Why are you still falling for it?
>I don't believe you! I don't believe you are an evil badass!
Disney has to shit on past characters so that when they introduce new characters even braindead ESL chink morons will understand "oh this is the newer more proactive person, I like this one better". Despite this though it has never worked
for me its e-girl leia
Because you can't have a story about israelites which fails to impress you with their plight under completely unjust persecution. They are god's chose. It's in their midichlorians.
Oho wow, I really can't wait to watch that for free in the comfort of my home.
Reading about this (cause there's no way I'm watching it) just makes me even more surprised Top Gun Maverick turned out the exact opposite way. Both named after the main protagonist who is returning from a beloved story after a very long absence. Star Wars disrespects its protagonist and treats him as if they were never worthy of being loved, only capable of serving as a vehicle to promote newer younger characters that fit into modern conventions and agendas of the showrunners. Top Gun reveres its protagonist and reminds the audience of why they loved him, not only that but promotes them even further by showing that time has not erased their glory, and that they are as necessary and valuable as ever, their timeless qualities shining through any conflict and inspiring both old and young, without controversy or at the cost of anyone else's inclusion or enjoyment.

Had Disney Lucasfilm just done this with Luke Skywalker, ALL of their films would be making $2 billion now and they’d be putting out 1-2 every year.
It’s amazing how much they destroyed their brand through insane pettiness
tom cruise still understands what people want. disney has been twisted by woke parasites into a "we will go after the kids and the kids are woke" mindset - which doesn't really work now that economy is tanking and the woke kids are becoming cynical coz they can't buy a house.
stay in your containment threads redditors

Why didn't Old Ben keep his giant lizard friend from Episode 3?
The one on Utapau? It got shot out of the air.
Who does his hair?
Is that a jedi power?
And now we know why this shitshow wasnt marketed until a month out.
Yep. Mandalorian managed to succeed briefly because Disney didn't swarm it. As soon as it became semi-successful you could see the quality nose dive. Women and homosexual men largely make up the decision makers and writers these days. Women and homosexual men are enormously preoccupied about what they can fit inside themselves. This occupies at least 75% of their waking cognition. When you walk past a bowling pin or a soda can do you wonder if you can fit it up your ass/pussy? Well, women and homosexual men do and they do it with everything. Even while writing, they can't escape how important it is to insert things into themselves and it actually becomes obvious in the way they write characters. Every character is written like they're having their hand held while lowering themselves down on to a wiener. They speak in this very "d...do...you think I can do it...?" obsequious way. Don't be surprised if Obi-Wan in every scene acts like he's about to put a dildo up his ass while eating a bunch of ice cream.
I was tempted to watch this but after seeing numerous articles and reports on TV about le racism being the reason people don't like it, I won't even bother to watch it.
>I was tempted to watch this but after seeing numerous articles and reports on TV about le racism being the reason people don't like it, I won't even bother to watch it.
They were running news articles about how they warned Miss Bossy Black Chick about racism in the Star Wars community before the first fricking episode aired. Now Ewan is weighing in and telling us oh no, le racism is bad. Yidsney thinks I'm a racist, Obi-Wan thinks I am or might be.... it kinda does suck the joy out of it. I don't understand what these chucklefricks are thinking.
they were prepping the narrative because they knew in pre screening it sucked. now all criticism is racist. Leia is the huge problem but Disney is playing operation get behind the darkies to suck all criticism toward Reva because they can always defend against waycisms.
nobody complained about Moff Gideon, maybe because the guy could act and the character wasn't complete shit.
Brother called all excited about this show and asked if I had seen it and I told him no it doesn't look very good and he went off talking about how all the racists hate it unfairly. It's sickening to me that I have a brother like this but he's beyond all reason.
it's the only way they get people to keep watching it
>I'm not a racist so the show is good, I'll keep watching because I'm not racist.
just try to logically explain to him why it's bad. he might actually agree but he's too afraid to take a position that's been labeled racist.
it won't do any good in the short term but once he sees what they do, he'll never be able to unsee it. A person like him will probably just quietly walk away, never bash it but just stop watching it.
Sole Women director for the entire series is your answer.
It feels like part of the disney/general new era frick everything you used to love. Ritualistic shaming and degrading as a mockery of all you used to like
Because the powers that be want to demoralize men into compliance or suicide.
His broken character is a metaphor for apologizing for his inherent racism and misogyny.
I imagined he would have spent the time training / force meditating to keep his powers sharp until he unlocked the force ghost ability. I like to think that Darth and Obi were actually at the peak of their Force skills in their duel in anh. And the fight is slow and calculate because of no room for error and also because when you are the master of space magic you probably don't need to do dance moves and pirouettes
It's not about fun, it's about sending a message.
