You know what I don't understand is why hyper sensetive ' omg a sound will kill me ' autists don't wear ear-plugs. Those little foam things completely block all sound. Nah, it has to be big frickin headphones doesn't it (autism is fake. it's a put-on)

They should be hyperdosed with LSD until they either develop a normal personality or learn to fold space.

First rational solution to the ‘tism I’ve heard in ages, I’m unironically for this. inb4 “that’s cruel,” yeah sure because they’re totally having such a not terrible time 24/7 otherwise. At the very least it’s a way to shake things up

        no they don't, stupid idiot.

I mean, a very loud noise can get through, but I'm talking about low the level sound involved with visiting a mall, for example. Obviously they block a lot more than big Beats by Dre headphones

the invasive sensation of the plug in their ear would probably freak them out, my bro is autistic and can't wear normal glasses because the feeling of the little arm things on em that rest over the top of the ears makes him spaz out. autistics just hate any minute or intimate sensations

Don't you get tired of accommodating that shit? I used to act exactly like that until i grew up and learned that you choose what sensations you give attention to and how you do it. If you find something to be a problem that's because you're choosing to make it a problem. Sorry, that applies to "autistics" just as much. Unless your bro is legit institutional tier moronic in which case just kill him

The concept of toughening up is completely alien to the modern western liberal society.

The idea is that if there's anything that irks you or displeases you it needs to be removed from your life at any cost and you also need to go to therapy for it (lifelong therapy) and go through mental gymnastics to explain why you can't handle it and how it's someone's fault.

            Anonymous

I didn't say anything about 'toughening up'. That kind of fight-based thinking is the problem that causes the autistic response to sounds etc in the first place. "This sound is attacking me" "this person's chewing noise is an attack on me, I need to flee or fight gaah". Exactly the opposite thinking to 'tough it out' is how you get out of that kind of life. The sound itself has no meaning until you give it one so stop designating it a threat, an attack an annoyance that isn't fair. Just let it be meaningless sound.

female autism is fake, male autism is real
on a serious note, the female version of autism is so massively different (and weaker) that it should be called something else entirely

Female autism is just “I find it slightly tiring to be polite and sociable”, which >75% of men experience.

either that or "i have a niche interest in something other women don't find interesting" which obviously means she must be defect since they are groupthinkers

female autism is the new coeliac. it's just a thing you can take up that means that it's not your fault you were lazy today. or, if you did accomplish something, then you should get double points because you have a special secret hindrance that only you can feel and nobody can understand

she made a movie about a nonverbal autistic girl but fired the nonverbal autistic actress when she was having a hard time and hired maddie instead to pretend to be autistic and make weird faces like that. also theres a part of a movie where the autistic girl is held down which is NOT SAFE in real life and she liked autism speaks and called a autistic girl a bad actor so thats why

This thread is filled with people who have no understanding of autism. Not a single person have seen what actually happens when the tough-it-out approach is used. It's not pretty. I'm as antiwoke and antiliberal as they come, but at some point people just get conspiracy theorist levels with it. It's just so poorly thought out to blame a western mindset when science and experience have proven how fricked in the head autist can be. Normal people toughen up and adept to stuff. Autist will literally scream for days on end and wreck themselves because they're incapable of adjusting.
