Why didn't Vader sense that Leia was strong in the force like Luke? They're twins so they should have the same amount of midichlorians in their blood.
Is Lucas implying that women are weaker jedi?

He didn’t have the Jedi midichlorian measurement device, maybe they were all destroyed along with the Jedi temple.

why did they hide luke but make leia a fricking princess?
as always the answer is because lucas is a hack and the star wars universe makes less sense with every addition

Bro. yoda decides to split up the twins so they’re more likely to survive. bail takes the girl back home to his fancy aristocrat family, and obi takes the boy to live with owen, whose dad was married to anakin’s mom. Have you even watched RotS?

          >Obi-Wan decides the best place to hide Vader's son where he'll never find him is on his home planet
          >He also decides the best way to lay low and stay incognito on said planet is by walking around wearing Jedi robes
Wow, Obi-Wan is kind of a dumbass huh?

You ever notice how the Jedi all dress throughout the prequels, regardless of whether they're on a desert planet or not?

George thought the robes looked cool and monk-like on Obi-Wan, so he gave them to Yoda as well, and then Vader when he appears as a force ghost, and by the time the prequels got made, nobody was left to tell George how stupid it was that an order of powerful wizard knights would be wearing literal sand people hobo rags.

So two people are to blame. The costume designer for doing such a good job designing cheap burlap monk robes, and George for having literally no self control.

you ever notice how regular people wear formal suits even thought this uniform is reserved only for politicians?

No. WTF are you talking about you shitpipe.

The point of comparison would be religious robes or some kind of military regalia anyway, numbnuts.

Formal clothing has a completely different aesthetic to "regular people" clothing. That's the point of it.

My understanding of it is, being lured by the dark side is effectively the Star Wars version of being possessed by a demon/evil spirits
This is why Vader gets a redemption arc while none of the mundane mooks or empire's officers do, because he wasn't in control of his actions like they were
Palpatine is just absolute pure evil on another level though, so he still gets thrown down the Empire's Trash Chute

Why do Prequel and sequel gays try and use mental gymnastics to make everything connect when even Lucas said he just made it up as he went along?

The OT exists in a vacuum and has nothing to do with anything that came after (except shadows of the empire)

      OT exists in a vacuum
      PT exists in a vacuum
      ST exists in a vacuum
EU games exists in a vacuum

Pick your poison and ignore the rest

        moron take
Star Wars was made in a vacuum
The Empire Strikes back was made based on ANH and not in a vacuum
RotJ was made to be the conclusion of a trilogy based on the previously existing canon and not in a vacuum
The prequels were explicitly made to be viewed as the first three films in the six-film saga and to retroactively expand on the originals and not in a vacuum

          Anonymous

Yes. He made them up as he went along, rather than planning it all out ahead of time. That was the point, you colossal dipshit.

            Anonymous

Your point is shit because the prequels were specifically made to add to an existing story and give additional meaning and context to things in the OT, which come later in the intended chronological order of watching the films from 1-6. It makes no difference that they weren't planned that way from the beginning and were only added later, the intention still is for the prequels to be the first part of the saga. Not to be viewed viewed independently as a separate story.

            >The Empire Strikes back was made based on ANH and not in a vacuum
No it wasn't, it was made up as they went along, literally. Leah is only related to Luke in return of the jedi, for example, not in ESB. And she's not even the other one yet in that movie, Lucas had no idea who the other force user would even be.

            Source: Lucas himself

I'm not saying Empire was made with knowledge of what would happen in RotJ.

              >I'm not saying Empire was made with knowledge of what would happen in RotJ.
Yeah, because that would mean that Lucas pre planned these movies and wrote them down first before filming them.

Instead, he made them up as he went along. Glad you finally understand.

Luke is literally the only person in the universe who sees good in Vader. Family is super important to him, or at least it was until the Sequel Trilogy assraped his character.
