Aight, Doctor's In again, give me your rants be it Finncells, Bubblines, the show, and etc.
My rant is that the show really didn't need romance to be a plot point, ESPECIALLY the BS fake drama shit with flame princess. That was the shit that made me give up on the show. It's a show about adventures; the closest thing to 'romance' would be finn getting a kiss from a princess he saves, and that's more of a formality and a 'repaying the debt/reward' than areal romance. I think the best case scenario would be finn finding an adventure-girl to pair well with his adventure-boy (which they kind of did with HW later on, but she was sort of a non-character except for literally two episodes.) Ultimately it's not a topic that needed to be covered at all.
I don't think FINN would be okay with this. He's see this woman made *for him* and with his good conscience would feel as disgusted at that as any good person should.
I think that it realistically should have ended after the litch became sweat pea. It's basically a different show after that, and while I actually do like later adventure time, I only like it as it's own thing, because when you look at it as one show yeah it betrayed what it was.

This has me thinking, if they did manage to remove Lemongrab, how would PB have aged from that point on? She said she wanted to stay a kid with Finn, would she have aged normally or slower than Finn. If slower, that might cause some problems in the long term if they did get in a relationship. In addition, how would Marceline have reacted to PB being 13 and in a relationship with Finn?

Yes. Ward went from controling the show show to just producing starting season 3. As the show went on he drifted more and more out.
Something like this happened, actually.
IIRC, Bubblegum kinda did that with somebody else who grew a very strong, unmutual infatuation with her despite having barely met each other. She recognized this as an issue, going out of her way to build a visually-identical duplicate of herself that matched with his perception of who he thought she was. Said robot immediately latched onto him, and he couldn't have been happier.
With Finn though, he knows Bubblegum much more to where it's definitely a bit more than just infatuation there. A visually-identical robo-Bubblegum is simply not in the cards for it to really work the same way.

PB has always been an amoral mad scientist, but it was also balanced with her being a genuinely caring and motherly queen/princess to her subjects (early on at least). The later seasons ramped up her evil tendencies a lot.

When it was known that AT would be renewed after season 2, the writers didn’t want to continue the Finn/PB angle after it’s supposed send off in Mortal Recoil. They just didn’t want an endgame couple to happen so early in the show. That’s also why Finn/FP broke up early on and Bubbline was saved for the series finale.
