Giving constant attention to a woman who doesn't care about you makes you a simp.

Except he wasn't cutting her slack
A simp would've agreed with her every word, Gaston never dropped his loud personality or his values, he simply wanted her

Somewhere along the line, you lost your grasp on the definition of the word "simp", and now you're too deep into the bit to admit it.

i myself recommend harlots. you should try it. they're way more fun to be around and often have more interested personalities than snobby virgins who will date buttholes that treat them like shit sooner or later anyway

I think he sees Belle as the ultimate prize. Like a hunt that eluded him. I have no doubts he would either discard her after he lost interest or marry and cheat the hell out (probably with the triplets) whenever he wished, since he didn't love her, he loves the perspective of acquiring what he believes is a trophy.

This movie pisses me off now that I watch it as an adult.
    >Be Beast
    >Capture Belle's father
    >Say you'll only release him if Belle stays with you forever.
    >Be Gaston
    >Have Belle's father kidnapped.
    >Say you'll let him out if Belle marries him.
IT WAS THE SAME FRICKING PLAN. It was the same fricking plan but for SOME REASON we're supposed to take Gason's implementation as his "point of nonredemption" that marks him as a villain. But when the Beast did it... ?

I don't think Beast wanted to frick her from the get go.

Beast wasn't a part of their community. Gaston was. There are different rules for your own community than for outsiders. Kidnapping a fellow citizen is a crime in civilized lands. Which explains why you have no clue about it.

Beast didn't first propose to Belle and then capture her father as a way to force an unwilling woman to sexually and maritally submit to him, as Gaston did.

He captured Belle's father because he was lurking around in his castle (and iirc took something?) out of being a pissed off shut-in angry at the world. He then demanded he remain his prisoner because he was a pissed off stubborn shut-in angry at the world.
Also, Belle was the one who offered to stay as his prisoner in her father's place. The beast never said
      >"I'll only let him go if you marry me / stay forever", he said
      >"frick off, he's my prisoner 4ever"
but when Belle offered to stay, he agreed.

Also when Belle stayed, he was really sulky and pissy towards her at first, and wasn't trying to force her into a romance despite being in a desperate situation. When he fell in love with her he let her go, knowing it meant doom for everyone in the castle. This self-sacrifice out of love, and in general growing to be respectful of Belle and her interests and intelligence (instead of mocking her interests, throwing her books into puddles and telling her to get to the kitchen), is what ultimately won her over

The real question is which of the armies marching around France during the early 1800s got to viciously rape them?
    Russian?
    Austrian?
    Prussian?
    English, God forbid?

None of those. Beast's castle is near Valmy. Prussians marched back home before getting to the castle.

    >Why didn't Gaston frick the Triplets instead of chasing after Belle?
In most stage adaptations of the Disney version he is fricking the triplets and tells the audience (sometimes even the triplets) that he is going to keep fricking them after he marries Belle
It doesnt even occur to him that Belle would say no, he really thinks he is going to just have his 3 side pieces for fun and a wife for producing sons as beautiful as he is up until about 20 minutes into the show

Don't delude yourself. Gaston was never about challenge. He wouldn't of stayed in a town where he was borderline worshiped if he cared about that.

        >Gaston was never about challenge
The entire town breaks into spontaneous musical numbers about his many accomplishments
The first time a woman said no to him in his life he kidnapped a man, bribed public officials and when magic stopped his scheme he marched off to 1v1 an 8 foot tall monster in a fist fight
He stayed in that town as a hero because it was 18th century France. 95% of the population was born, lived their entire lives and died in the same 5 mile circle

he's a closeted gay that has toxic personality traits resulting in chauvinism

only reason he wanted belle was for his own narcissism
