Odo has the same fundemental problem as Superman, which is that their powers are exponentially more useful for common people in mundane situations that don't make for good stories. Once you think about it for a few seconds, you realize that they're basically selfish buttholes for using their powers for their own adventures.

Bajoran is undoubtedly his first language but not learning and speaking Cardassian while working for them is just stupid. When the occupation leaves he switches to Bajoran.
