No, it makes sense for both. Spider-Man learned his lesson. Batman isn't the Punishers in a bat mask, he believes in law.

Peter didn't kill goblin. Green goblin did some dumbass shit and Peter didnt have the strength to like catch the glider and save him, he just got his ass whooped and just GTFO of the way. If he was watching someone else do it, he may have stepped in and saved the goblin
Peter ducked the glider, let it hit Osborn, and quipped "I missed the part where that's my problem"
Just because Peter played it off like a chad doesn't mean that to he wouldnt have saved goblin if he had the strength to do so. Peter was simply in no position to stop the goblin from killing himself without also sacrificing his own life in the process, and Norman wasn't fricking worth that

They were made for 7-12 year olds, there's a reason that comic nerds and nerds in general have been the butt of jokes since day 1. The cream of the crop of comic characters are entertaining sure, but every other aspect of the medium is cringe in adulthood

NWH was a victory lap for Tobey. He had his time as Spider-Man and is practically retired now so he's relaxed and just having fun in the role. It'd honestly be embarrassing and sad to see a 40+ year old man tryharding for a fan service cameo. So desperate for the studio to take him back and give him a second chance after his awful first run...
Garfield didn't have a bad first run, pretty much nobody has anything bad to say about his performances in those movie and focus is nearly all on how badly the studio fricked him over.
He played it too quiet and gay instead of too awkward but masculine like Toby played it. But that can be down to writing too, I haven't seen them in years.
Otherwise I think he was a decent Spiderman but Toby is the current champ still.
Tobey played the best Peter. But his Spider-Man was too rigid and inflexible.
Garfield Spider-Man was very flexible and moved like an arachnid. Plus his web swinging was on point. Garfield was superior.
Yeah Garfield's body mechanics are better, he was more traditional Spiderman whereas Tony was more of a hard-hitting heavy. But imo Tony's Spiderman had a personality that fitted his build and his a fighting style, so the film is more complete and coherent
That's fair, but a truly, stereotypical "dork" wouldn't have the courage to become Spiderman, powers or no. Toby's Peter Parker had courage but was a book worm and socially clueless
He was the best actor when he was in the suit as spiderman he was superior to Toby and Holland in that aspect, his Peter Parker was hit or miss, but that was more do to them writing him as some kinda cool rebellious teenager instead of a dorky kid.
Tobey didn't kill him though. He accidentally killed himself.
I just watched this movie and am impressed by the despair kino. Honestly didn't expect that out of an MCU movie.

I love the Raimi flicks but Tobey was sleepwalking in NWH. Garfield was always the superior Spider-Man
because the whole point is that both andrew and garfield already went through their punished arc, and they came to give holland spider boy hope and guide him through his grief

The thing with the Goblins death in the first movie is, even if his plan succeeded and Spidey got turned into a shish kebab there was a good chance he'd get fricked up by the glider's blades as well, was he just too crazy or stupid to care?
He was likely bleeding to death and going to a hospital would've been a life sentence in the worst federal prison they could find for him. Some people will happily fight to their dying breath if it means taking their enemies with them

The only good part of this movie ended up being the Garfield spiderman somehow. Him saving the falling girl this time and barely holding it together later was great.
Because that Spider-Man accidently killed him and regretted it for two movies afterwards.
