Because they are irrelevant
That's their whole thing
The original idea for the ring was that it would give you more of what you already have. Which is how a powerful being like Sauron could use it to multiply his power. And why a small irrelevant creature like a hobbit would turn invisible. But that was changed when Tolkien thought that it would be cool to have more than just one ring in the story.
It extends your lifespan, consumes your thoughts, while wearing it your hearing is enhanced but your vision reduced, it seems to be able to change your appearance to others, Sam is mistaken for a big warrior by some orcs when he wears it. Frodo also seems to change appearance slightly in the eyes of Sam, when he makes Gollum swear on the ring.
I'd say that was also the only instance of Frodo actually using the ring's power to dominate someone's will. Although when he asks Galadriel why it doesn't let him dominate people, she tells him it's because he hasn't tried to.
hobbits are a race branched off from men. did you even read the books?
NO. ONE. CARES. ABOUT. THE. BOOKS.
This board is for the Peter Jackson movies EXCLUSIVELY. Go to /lit if you want to jerk off onto a page. We'll be here watching kino.
They are irrelevant in the movies too, the other races have powerful kingdoms and the hobbits have little villages of underground houses
A better question would be why didn't the orcs get rings
Frankly none of the kingdoms we saw in the movie were that big. Biggest was probably the tree people because all of the forest was their kingdom, technically.

they should have used a drug mule instead of hobbits. put it in a box that cant be opened and order half a dozen elf ninjas to throw it in the volcano.
problem solved
>why didnt hobbits get rings of power? >all the other races got one
the vast majority of races did not and the hobbits are an unimportant minor population and race.
Wait, so that was a legit question and not some morons joking and baiting? Why would Sauron waste a ring of power on some irrelevant midgets? Are they unironically moronic?
Tree people, orcs and large Eagles didn't
>eagles
if you start giving rings to every animal too, it would need a quite bit of materials
the idea is they live such peaceful and pure lives they cant become corrupted. also the ring works differently in the books.

orcs are corrupted elves. did you even watch the movies?

cringe
Film gays get out.
no one cares about what assburgers think either but here you are
>books
>TV and film
Huh
the hobbits were essentially unknown
Why is New Zealand so comfy
how come they all look like the same person
How come not a single pose is accurate
they do not desire power like men, dwarves and elves.
photo unregulated
Looks safe to me

what does the ring of power do other than turn you invisible?

He wasn’t wearing it, and Gollum swore by the ring, not on it.
You're right, but to Sam his appearance also changed
does anyone actually enjoy the 30 minutes after the frodo wakes up at the end?

problem solved
Hobbits are a kind of Man, not their own race
Because the point of the rings was to corrupt and control the powerful races.
Hobbits were no threat.
so the lesson is never underestimate your enemies?
Sort of. Gandalf was the only person in the world who saw the value of Hobbits. They were his secret weapon.
That's the recurring theme in Tolkien: the mighty destroyed by the humble.
My understanding is nobody really knew they existed.
Hobbits are humans
They didn't exist.
Not all races are equal
Because hobbits are notoriously easy to kill
even in middle-earth, shortkings can't catch a break....
Do you not remember what happened the minute some hobbits found a ring? The Shire wouldn't last a month before they all killed/enslaved each other
Hobbits weren't around when the Rings were made.
Sauron was racist
Hobbits used to be black (thanks Bezos!) and Sauron is a racist prick.
I thought Hobbits where a younger race that only recently came to existence.
>why didnt hobbits get rings of power?
>all the other races got one
the vast majority of races did not and the hobbits are an unimportant minor population and race.
>the vast majority of races did not
Literally all races but hobbits got them.
Except for the ents, the orcs, and the eagles.
and the Shelobs
>ents
They're plants, not people.
>orcs
They're elves, Morgoth took their foreskins and brainwashed them with propaganda, turning them into abominations. Still elves.
>eagles
Not people.
>b-but they can't talk
Just like (you), point still stands.
Elves and Dwarves are not people either.
They were created by the Valar to be people, so they're people.
who whould give a cool ring to a midget
Gollum.
What do you mean? The dwarves got a bunch.
>b-b-but hobbits aren't dwarves
Yeah, and Black folk aren't human, but what can you do?
They are just a human sub-species.
Also not important enough to get one of the human rings.
Why not watch the YouTube video from Nerd of the Rings that was released yesterday. But I think you already have.
Wait, so that was a legit question and not some morons joking and baiting? Why would Sauron waste a ring of power on some irrelevant midgets? Are they unironically moronic?
sauron didnt even know hobbits existed
