Yeah banana is one of the worst Gundam protags full frontal is kind of uninspired just char again, and the whole plot about achtually the federation and Zeon signed this agreement ages ago was just dumb. Cool MS designs though.
terrible protagonist, full frontal is only good because he’s moronic, absolutely disgusting retcons, and a complete fundamental misunderstanding of newtypes
but its very pretty, i guess
In the final battle with the Neo Zeong after Banagher unleashes his ultimate Sore Demo, the Unicron and NZ grapple onto each other and then go into a psychedelic acid dimension where they see basically everything in the UC up to that point and into the future too. In the novel it’s just a vision but Narrative makes it abundantly clear that the power of muh psychoframe actually made them travel through time, somehow
I think what peeves me about that scene the most isn't the supposed time travel or vision, it's that for the "entire history" it shows CCA and then immediately skips back to 0079. As if there was nothing at all that happened in the 13 years between those two events.
>What was empathetic about turning a beam saber into a kilometer-long whip

Did you miss the part where both Feddies and Zeeks both went to stop Axis from falling? Or how it was referred to as being caused by a concentration of 'human wills'?
That's sort of the tragedy of newtypes Gundam is that newtypes are essentially people with super empathy and they're mostly used as super soldiers because their empathy makes them good at sensing when people are going to shoot space lasers at them and some of them like Haman and Scirocco become so corrupt they use their power to manipulate others to wage more war. It's squandered potential of a new generation by the baggage of the old.
>Haman and Scirocco become so corrupt
Oh great, so instead the uncorrupted empathetic newtypes allowed the perpetual existence of federation dooming mankind to stagnate.
People did like it and do like it, it was the meh finale that soured a lot of people. This is /m/, so if a show instigates negative emotions and is less then 20 years old, that automatically makes it trash.
Huh? Where the frick are you from? Unicorn is one of the most liked and best selling entries in the entire franchise. It even got a 1/1 for frick's sake.
Most people love the frick out of Unicorn. Sold lots of merchandise both model kits/toys but also Blu-Rays, and knick knacks and shit. It's just this shithole that's an echo chamber who thinks it's terrible.
I think the biggest issue is the plot is a complete lost in the sauce McGuffin chase. Anime characters usually being cardboard cutout deep aside, most people show up to die or prod along their side. Those that don't generally don't change in a sensible way. But it's high on general design, animation, 3D incorporation, and music and does well enough distracting you from the plot through swells of melodrama.
In the worst part of the script where Mineva and Full Frontal end up saying "key-box-key-box" a few times over some bridge officer even says outloud they're confused. Also time travel to log flume through a UC greatest-hits.
There are awesome 2d mobilesuit battle scenes, but the story is such a preachy moralising.
Shit plot. Shit characters.

Also Marida was like "I'll follow my heart now, I'll make my own decisions" and then proceeds to die for feddies. This was cruel.

I don't like it because it's not by Tomino
The story sucked and the vast majority of the screen time was focused on story.
that hack Frickui completely missed the point of newtypism and couldn't write a compelling character to save his life
Was there time travel in Unicron?
did you fricking watch it with your eyes open anon?
What did I miss?

Narrative makes clear that the shenanigans with the RX-0 and Neo Zeong's shards were actual, literal time travel.
What was empathetic about turning a beam saber into a kilometer-long whip or reversing the trajectory of a giant rock?
That was a retcon. It was just a vision in the novel.

I hate Fukui so much it’s actually unreal
Fukui confirmed in Dengeki Hobby interview that the finale of Unicorn novel was Banagher merged with Unicorn and traveled through time.
If you had bothered to look shit up, you would've learned that Yas thinks that Newtypes are mutants.
>Why didn't people like it?
you're kidding right ? outside of this shithole ?
It's CCA but objectively better
It brought more attention to the UC so I'd say people liked it enough

Nice MS porn. Terrible story. About on par for UC Of OVAs I say.
>Nice MS porn
>MS porn
I don't wanna look this up
i'm just one episode away of completing this
lord please give me strength to finish this once and for all

They don't like UC post CA.
Honestly every theme Unicorn tried to tackle, Turn A did it better.
Fixed

What was his name again?
General Butt Naked.
He has sideburns, wtf
He has sideburns AND a mullet.
Full Frontal's so intent on emulating char he's even emulates a hair style of the decade when CCA first released.
What a Char fanboy.
