True Romance is better than anything Quinton has ever done. And he would have ruined Natural Born Killers, he's not creative enough to do scenes like the Mallory sitcom scene or the jail break
One of the dumbest comments I've ever read.
Quentin had a million chances to "sell out" by agreeing to rewrite his scripts or taking high profile blockbuster studio assignments. Instead he's written originals for 30 years and never compromised an inch of it. You're free to not like his art, but he's the opposite of a sellout. Going on a talk show to promote your new movie was basic marketing in the 90s/00s, at least he's never done a fricking bank commercial like Sam Jackson.
Based. You'd have to be a midwit to think his later stuff is anything but schlock. He's the quintessential midwit director, why every zoomer cuck and e-prostitute has Pulp Fiction in whatever ludicrous Top 10 they've conjured of the 15 movies (at best) they've watched in their lives.
I’ve recently just rewatched pulp fiction. It’s just like 3 good scenes sprinkled into an overlong show offy dialogue ridden snorefest. Im convinced the chronological switch up in the movie alone really made his career and elevated his status to extremely inflated levels
>Im convinced the chronological switch up in the movie alone really made his career
This. Nobody likes to admit his "le epic monolog" scenes only really pay off 1/10 times it's just he crams in that many statistically he's going to have at least 1 or 2 memorable ones per movie.
I mean, Tony Scott or Oliver Stone wouldn't be the worst options, but yeah out of modern directors who don't write, I don't think I'd trust anyone outside of maybe Fincher to execute something with any competence.
This usually happens at the beginning of a writer/director's career, they have a good script but no directing experience so the decision becomes
a) take almost no money for a chance to direct (like Cameron receiving $1 for Terminator)
b) take a good paycheck for the script, let another director do it and then direct your next (smaller budget) project like QT did ala Reservoir Dogs
True Romance is the only good movie Quentin has had any part of. On paper, the whole thing is schlocky and deranged nerd fantasy and not in any tasteful way. Owe it to the master Tony Scott who could direct any fricking script and give it SOVL and style. He even made something as truly shit as Domino, on paper, cinematically palpable and enjoyable. Also, his version of the ending of TR shows what you said should have never happened and thank god it didn't. That movie is incredibly good only because of Tony Scott and the pitch-perfect casting and chemistry of Alabama and Clarence. I don't have much to say about Natural Born Killers, though.
Because he decided early in his career that he would ONLY direct 10 movies.
Other things he’s written or produced don’t count towards his official “Directed by Quentin Tarantino” projects.
>watch True Romance with my high school gf >start fricking halfway into it cause she can't pay attention >enter Tony Soprano >get the hardest orgasm of my life while fricking the gf from behind as Gandolfini beats the shit out of Alabama
I don't think Tarantino would've channeled the same shit Oliver Stone did. This movie is fricking frantic (I love it). It would also lose a lot of themes, I think QT wanted this to be straight up serial killers, not a story about love and demons and mass medias

It masters multiple different styles documentaries sitcoms, police tv show, 90's punk stuff, movie is above Quentin's skills as a director.

True romance mogs the tarantino movies shitdick it’s clear as day
Most of the films he has done are more critically acclaimed and well known than true romance.
Unfortunately
Yeah because Quinton is a prostitute and will do anything for money and sell himself out on tv talk shows

This is correct. Quentin has not prostituted himself in Hollywood. If he had done it his net worth would be huge
>le critical acclaim and popularity
You're a mindless fricking bugman. May God have mercy on your soul.
It's the metric by which films are measured. Sorry bro.
Yeah, by morons.

Inglorious Bastards is one of his best movies
He needed the money and would've butchered the ending to True Romance
NBK was kino. Ahead of it's time.
they weren't wasted, these are kino films. not like that PIECE OF SHIT from dusk til dawn
I'm feeling the same about my screenplays, I'll never be in piece selling my best work to some unknown director
I mean, Tony Scott or Oliver Stone wouldn't be the worst options, but yeah out of modern directors who don't write, I don't think I'd trust anyone outside of maybe Fincher to execute something with any competence.
Good thing that is a problem you'll never ever have to deal with.
Yeah it seems a bit cucked to let some other dude thwart your own ideas like QT did. Don't be like that bro.

those are both better than any of the garbage Clinton Tapatio ever directed

ya got a lot heart, kid
Natural born killers was fine as is. Hell, some people even thought Tarantino himself directed it, so you got that.

It's also good if the story is about the perils of mass media. Oliver Stone's own interpretation of the script is just as good.

>I'll call you a hearse. This is for Cody.
True Romance is absolute kino what the hell are you talking about?
This is the only good part of it
Oh look the redditard posted the reddit scene

Two pieces of garbage.
>two perfectly good projects
weren't both of these movies based on the same initial script or something
Yeah in the original True Romance, Clarence was writing a script called Natural Born Killers.
NBK is the finest modern 'American' film.
>triggers school shootings
Yeah it doesn't get more american than that
Tarantino = Pulp Fiction. Don't be an edgelord about it.
