Why didn't she understand the lengths that the CIA would go to fight cartels?

Why didn't she understand the lengths that the CIA would go to fight cartels? Real FBI agents can't be this jaded.

why would the cia fight the cartels?
the cia is one of the main culprits in importing all the drugs to the country essentially bankrolling the cartels themselves
    why would they fight them?

They wanted to fight the cartels so there would be only one organization left and they would be easy to control.
Stopping drug trafficking was never their plan

Since no one answered my question last thread and I still haven’t rewatched it, I’ll ask again: why was she even invited to work with them to begin with if they instantly knew she wasn’t cut out for the mission? Was she meant to just be bait?

      Why not?
I guess they thought they could recruit her but nope.

I think the movie explains it was because she's a dumb dumb.
The black guy was an option but they declined because he was a lawyer or something like that.

they needed her to sign a piece of paper

They were legally required to have an outside presence there to supervise and ensure nothing illegal is done in their actions. They specifically chose someone they could push around so they can appear to look like following the law while breaking it.
Remember at the start it seems like she's getting picked over the black guy based on credentials? She's not.

      >why was she even invited to work with them
Because she seen some shit, making her emotionally invested in the cause. Turned out shes a woman, so shes emotionally invested in bad guys dying as well.

Did you even fricking watch the movie?
It was very clearly explained, they needed an fbi agent to legally operate the mexico-usa mission. They were legally required. And they specifically picked the weakest person qualified for the job that they can bully so they can do whatever they want while still being technically following the law in paper.

More like naive. And she was hired specifically because she was naive.

It's kinda weird that the movie frames this as some sort of big moral dilemma, but I really didn't think it was that bad, or at all really.
Like the reasons are understandable. It's not like they're covering up some mindless killing or raping or whatever.
It's clearly just doing what has to be done to make things a little better.
What was so morally wrong about what the Glowies did?

      Tldr;
Why was it such a big frickn deal to sign that one slip of paper?

If she doesn't sign it then further investigations come along with political hearings and maybe the general public realising the USA is creating and manipulating the drug trade.

I get that but my point being I think mkst people would have signed that paper no biggie if they understood the logic behind it.

They're creating the drug cartels and the drug wars.

As supposed to multiple cartels shooting up eachother and pumping drugs to the streets?
If there's no way to stop it then what they did seems like the next best thing.
It seems pretty reasonable. Not really immoral

          >As supposed to multiple cartels shooting up eachother and pumping drugs to the streets?
They're shooting each other because of the CIA. They're not doing anything remotely close to stopping the trade. The CIA backs one side until they become too big at which point they finance a smaller side, build them up and then the cycle starts over. All out war between the cartels without CIA assistance would likely be little different except there'd be at least potentially an end in sight rather than an endless cycle of violence.

            how?

If there's a major war between cartels that ended with one victor then you're going to have a period of what's essentially peace time where there's no competition. That's the same thing the CIA says they're trying to do but under the assumption they'll be controlling the victorious party, which they won't, hence why the need to then supply cash, drugs and guns to the rivals to create a new war as they seek to replace the controlling party with their new one which they'll totally have control over.
If they just butted out the cartels would fight it out amongst themselves and then the victor would control the peacetime. Should just leave them to themselves and worry about your own backyard.

ask me how I know you are a fricking idiot.

Corporations at the regional warlord level will inevitably incorporate to expand after one gains an upper hand. See- England. See- Hanseatic League. See- Rome. See- Babylon. See- USA.

The best shot Team USA has for jungle spooks in South America or dog paddlers from Mexico is consistently destabilize by any means necessary.

It's irrelevant who claims to be in control, as long as everyone thinks they are, and the only one in real control is the CIA dropping off crates of AK's to one group, while dumping off black cash to the other to purchase M4's.

For the small mind and small hat, it's about money & perceived power.

For the winner, it's not about small think, it's about letting uncivilized banana farmers go to war with each other until we own it all and they never even know it, while thinking they run it.
