Yeah I don't get at all how the colonies died. Especially when it was shown the colony ship had the means to make Kryptonians even without the index. The index I assume you need for long term civ building. The colony ship likely had the babies that had the knowledge to set up a colony. Still the tech is there.

It implies that the colonies got something more than just bodies from Krypton. Raw goods and energy make little sense given the easy means to create their version of USB sticks. And energy also seems easy for them. Then again why are they using geothermal instead of fusion?

      Superman V Atomic Skull

Movie starts out with Superman fighting Atomic Skull, shocking moment went Atomic Skull goes full nuclear explosion obliterates metropolis, with only Superman barely surviving. Superman is almost immediately met by the Legion of Superheroes, who are ternage heroes from the future that idolize Superman that traveled back in time to stop the Atomic Skull from exploding. It turns out their timeline frickery led to Atomic Skull exploding in the first place and now they're trying to fix it. Time travel shenanigans ensue, basic plot twist that a member of the Legion is actually evil, Atomic Skull is just misunderstood and insane and dying because of the state he's in and there's a nice moment as Superman pushes him into space for him to explode harmlessly

It's literalky that easy to come up with a superhero movie plot

At the time, no. Man of Steel was great for setting up a sequel. Call it Man of Tomorrow. Going right into BvS should've waited until the third movie to drag the best modern Supes into MCU slop.

After MoS underperformed DC panicked and force jumpstarted a cinematic universe despite the fact that the original plan was for MoS to be a stand alone universe and basically be the dark knight but for Superman. People always forget MoS was never supposed to start the dceu. Nolan said several times Batman and Superman would be universally separate. Too bad they didn't stick to the plan

      Anonymous

It didn't even underperform. I did way better than the last Superman movie. They were moronic for expecting TDK money

Even more moronic if you compare Batman Begins’ numbers to Dark Knight.

        Anonymous

Except the last Superman was a disappointment that led to canceling the sequel so no exactly I high standard to compare it with.

This is Superman, one of the 3 biggest heroes, alongside Batman and Spiderman, the ones that everyone knew before superhero movies became popular and this one is probably the most popular one. So yeah those numbers are pretty underwhelming.

because man of steel bombed. apparently a movie so shit that superman is actively killing people in it and millions of people died because superman fought in downtown smallville and downtown metropolis and never once saved a single fricking civilian and even used super speed to dodge a gas truck thrown at him so it blows up and kills whoever is in the building behind him is not a movie people liked or wanted. so they had them blow up metropolis again with batman but had a random news cast say no one is the entire downtown area with doomsday.

Hilarious that Batman Begins had a $150 million budget and just $374 million box office. DC wanted their new Superman film to get a reception like TDK but didn't even remember that Bale and Nolan's first film got a lukewarm reception.

Only Zod who it was either him or let a family get killed by him

He literally just started being Superman. You except him to just save everyone, apprehend the bad guys, and fly off waving bye to the camera? No one wants that cringe shit
      >never once saved a single fricking civilian
That’s a straight up lie. He saved those workers from the fire in the start of the movie. He saved soldiers during the battle with the kryptonians. Saved people multiple times.

      >but had a random news cast say no one is the entire downtown area with doomsday.
No the final fight moved to a abandoned port area that Bruce had already specifically chosen for his fight with Superman dumbass.

Superman specifically already removed Doomsday from downtown into space and then the military nuked them.

You can't stop to save civilians against a foe who moves like the Flash. While you save 10 they could blitz attack 50 others. He did the right thing and kept Zod's attention on him.

If they were smart they'd catch everyone off guard and still do a MoS trilogy with Cavill and Snyder. A billion Indians and South Americans would shit and fart and cum in their pants the second they saw a legit trailer for Man of Steel 2. They can still do their silly little reboot on top of it.

The fundamental problem is that MoS and Snyder as a whole don't like the Superman character and never manage to replace it with anything of their own. Cavill never got to play Superman and barely has any lines across all 3 movies.

A Man of Steel sequel simply salvages the great casting. You'd need to do a massive creative overhaul and do something akin to "The Suicide Squad" in that you make it a soft reboot.

You keep reposting this but every time you do you expose yourself as a casual fan and a moron that got filtered by the movie. Man of Steel reference so many comic book runs, so many obscure comic lore, and the take is very reminiscent of past characterizations.

For you Superman star and end with Christopher Reeves and that is it. You can't even see that Cavill characterization was homaging the golden age and John Byrne's take where Clark and Superman aren't that difference personality wise since Superman didn't felt the need to put on airs as Clark Kent. They were both a silent type that let their action spoke louder than words.

        >Man of Steel reference so many comic book runs, so many obscure comic lore, and the take is very reminiscent of past characterizations.
And what it fails to do is tell a good story in the present. References are easy, anon. Especially with wikipedia and the internet at your disposal, let alone the entire WB catalogue. References are the death of cinema. What matters is good storytelling, which MoS has none of.

He both gets his Clark Kent disguise and name "Superman" offscreen as a sort of
        >Uh yeah, this has to be here, let's get this out of the way.
Rather than giving those moments weight and/or having them motivated by character, it's just there because they feel obligated to put it there.

But it did. The series didn't fell apart. Zack Snyder's trilogy even with all the interference by WB is done. It tells a continuous story from star to end from three great movies. It will stand the test of time.

Meanwhile all the junk WB produced with other hack directors will just end up being ignored and forgotten. Shit like Shazam and The Suicide Squad.
