Why are americans so fricking obsessed with this? Can't zoomers conceptualize an old show having old people look old? Yes, to a cast composed of kids in a show aimed at kids I'd say 28 is pretty fricking old, it's a stylistic choice or are you so dense and autistic that you can't fit this in your deepfried burger brain?

People use to die when they are killed. I mean, back in the 1970s, their 40-50 year olds look like our present-day 70-80 year olds.

Cutting back on all that tobacco really helped people look younger nowadays as they age.

Zoomers drink & smoke less + actually wear sunscreen

Does smoking really cause that much skin aging?

        Anonymous

Yeah. It impairs collagen and elastin production, and causes cell death which impairs circulation. Long term results being your skin dehydrating and not being able to maintain its elasticity

Yes, actually. This video goes into detail about it

Like it says, some of it is just perception of what we think of as "old" but at the same time, thanks to cutting back on smoking and actually using good sunscreen, people today aren't increasing our lifespan, but we are staying youthful for a longer percentage of our life.

At least Bright then basically looks the same for the next 20 years. He still looks younger than Dozel did at 28 in his 40s.

I think it was a stylistic choice to create a sharper contrast with the teenage soldiers, which were so common in Gundam.

How soon after? Little known fact of both world wars was how widespread malnutrition was, even to the point of starvation. The right image shows signs of being malnourished. My grandfather served in World War 2 in the Pacific theater, and when he returned all the troops were given steroids because they looked so gaunt that it was considered too demoralizing to show the American troops in such a state. And yes, you can look that up. It was common practice.

American education? Everyone knows europeans were starving during that time.

Yes but I'm referring to the soldiers specifically, including the Americans. And I specifically referenced the Pacific theater to show it was not localized to the European theater but rather everywhere during the war.

well in Dozle's case he's a gigantism afflicted turbo-war fetishist not-Skorzeny constantly engaged in the stresses of personal combat sorties (which he shanghais himself into under the excuse of 'frontline inspections' because he's not supposed to do that as a top-rank flag officer) who also ate an entire car bombing to the face and no-selled it if we accept at least that part of Origin, so he's probably got a sufficient number of excuses for looking like a vaguely human slab of 40+ year old meat

Who is his daughter? Wong isn't listed as having any family or relatives that I can find, not even Gundam wiki lists anything.

Who is his daughter? Wong isn't listed as having any family or relatives that I can find, not even Gundam wiki lists anything.

According to A New Translation, Stephanie Luio, the woman from Luio & Co who helps the Audhulma resupply while at Hong Kong, is Wong Lee's daughter. It's a detail that's contradicted by the original Zeta, as when Amuro goes to the Luio & Co office and gets his shit kicked in he's informed by Stephanie that Luio Woomin, the person he was looking to speak to, is her father. It's also contradicted by Gundam NT, which is consistent with the original Zeta and has Luio Woomin as Stephanie's father.

The only other piece of Zeta related media that supports any relation between her and Wong is Zeta Define, where it's said that:
          1. "Wu-Ming" (Probably a different transliteration of the name Woomin) is her father
          2. Wong Lee is referred to her as her father in law

Of course Zeta Define isn't part of the main UC continuity as it is a retelling of Zeta Gundam, on top of being a direct sequel to the Char's Deleted Affair manga, so you can take what it has to say with a grain of salt.

            >as her father in law

            That just raises further questions!

              Anonymous

Yeah, it would imply that Wong has a son that we have never seen or had any other reference too. And given that Zeta Define, at least as far as I remember, has made no attempt to adjust Wong's age, it would imply that he's still 25 at the time of the story. And if he is then it would be impossible Stephanie to have married his son, because even if he had a child at like 16 years old his son would only be like 9 years old at most. The only way him being her father in law would be if he had an adopted son, but nothing has ever hinted at that and I'll be honest Wong seems like too much of a dick to adopt a kid.

The only other information given about the Luio family is that Stephanie's predecessor at the company, and the one that would work with other powerful figures in Hong Kong, was some man called Shao-Min Luio, but I don't think he has any direct relationship to Stephanie other than family name/blood given the fact he looks old as shit.

how much useful combat data did they get from the AEUG testing out AE's latest inventions? how much money did AE make marketing and building all those prototype Zetas that the Feds kept paying for but rejecting because it just wasn't quite the right mix of cheap and good yet?
