It's literally an atheist movie. Bergman's Magician is a thousand times better than this boring crap. The only good parts are those with death, the 'Christian visions' all appear sappy and fake, the story is splat nothing.
>literally all the great thinkers of the 20th century were atheists >the stereotypical fedora "enlightened by my own intelligence" caricature is based on atheists
>literally all the great thinkers of the 20th century were atheists >the stereotypical fedora "enlightened by my own intelligence" caricature is based on atheists
yeah...anyway
Brother Guy Consolmagno, a Jesuit, became the first religious brother to be awarded the American Astronomical Society's Carl Sagan Medal for Excellence in Public Communication in Planetary Science in 2014. The judges noted his six books, and nominated his 'Turn Left At Orion' as having had an "enormous impact on the amateur astronomy community, engendering public support for astronomy." They described Consolmagno as "the voice of the juxtaposition of planetary science and astronomy with Christian belief, a rational spokesperson who can convey exceptionally well how religion and science can co-exist for believers."
>Tolkien CS Lewis, Waugh
Shut up you utter moron. This is humiliating from a Christian standpoint and just shows you never got beyond milquetoast Catholic conservatism. None of these are 'great' thinkers, though they may be great writers (compared to T.S. Eliot or Goethe that's really pushing it).
There should be a modern remake of this but with a better story, just keeping the same overall themes and iconic moments like the chess game and the final scene. Whens the last time we got a good film that dealt with the spiritual in the biblical tradition?
I struggle with my belief in many things, among them that any of the self-professed Christians ITT aren't vampires who would go up in a cloud of smoke if they so much as glanced at hallowed ground.
Because atheists get filtered by most movies. I'm not even religious, but I understand that you have to have a certain openness to be able to connect with and appreciate art. Atheism doesnt philosophically cut you off, but the culture around atheism absolutely cuts a lot of internet-style people off from the ability to appreciate beauty.
But at the end the Knight is the one coping about his inevitable death and the Squire accepts the absurdity of reality and what death means. It's definitely not a movie with a religious message.
if you wear atheist as a label and not a description of a subset of some of your thoughts you are mentally ill. It is maladaptive to be against the prevailing communal belief.
It's fricking boring
>Filtered
It's boring, cope
because it literally sucks and is boring and not well made or written or filmed
What do you mean?
Atheist think of morality as an opinion, so the shock of realizing their inability to grasp moral dilemmas leads to frustration and inevitably rage.
Why would there be dilemmas if they're not an opinion?
There's no dilemma with 2+2.
>inability to grasp moral dilemmas leads to frustration
the memes make themselves as seen here:
great film, love Ingmar Bergman
It's literally an atheist movie. Bergman's Magician is a thousand times better than this boring crap. The only good parts are those with death, the 'Christian visions' all appear sappy and fake, the story is splat nothing.
>It's literally an atheist movie
Actually filtered kek
It outright says death is the only thing after life, and was the product of Bergman's neurotic obsession with dying and turning into nothingness.
Just because its existential problems cannot be comprehended by flat-brained and dogmatic atheists does not mean it is a Christian movie.
*carries Bergman*
What? Atheists love this movie. Stanley Kubrick was an atheist and he was a huge fan of Bergman.
Atheists are used to only watching marvel movies and tiktok.
That's literally exclusively Christians and Muslims who watch that shit.
cope
the dumbest blockheads in the world have bible verses on their ig and follow marvel dogshit
Shut the frick up you hylic Black person dog.
I don't do either of those things
>t. atheist
You get to be an honorary Christian.
Peculiar thing to assert.
>Why do atheists get filtered by this movie?
Atheists get filtered by reason, intelligence, thought, heritage, philosophy and growing up.
>literally all the great thinkers of the 20th century were atheists
>the stereotypical fedora "enlightened by my own intelligence" caricature is based on atheists
all the great thinkers of the 20th century were atheists
You're a badly educated idiot and brainwashed into pig ignorance.
Jokes on you, I was only pretending to be moronic.
>Jokes on you, I was only pretending to be moronic.
ok then you were very convincing, it was the atheism that really did the trick.
Those people may or may not have been thinkers, but I can assure you very few were great. Most are mere idealogues.
I guess you are leaving out Tolkien CS Lewis, Waugh etc etc but including marx as a 'great thinker'. It's probably because you are stupid.

By what fricking metric were Tolkien and Lewis great thinkers?
Made a new language by himself just for fun
He was a philologist, it has nothing to do with great thinking, and his 'new language' is very close to Finnish.
Maybe if you're a soulless Analytic.
gödel, ts eliot, heisenberg, etc weren’t atheists.
There should be a modern remake of this but with a better story, just keeping the same overall themes and iconic moments like the chess game and the final scene. Whens the last time we got a good film that dealt with the spiritual in the biblical tradition?

9th gate is better
But at the end the Knight is the one coping about his inevitable death and the Squire accepts the absurdity of reality and what death means. It's definitely not a movie with a religious message.
Neither is it particularly good.
Who cares what atheists think? They all have piss stains on their boxers
An answer. For all.
You need a soul to be religious.
Marvel movies are more suited to atheists I would imagine?
Persona is Bergman’s only good film
Pretentious, boring garbage
Freidkien's Sorcerer
I want a rip
I can't find it anywhere. Criterion. Mumbi.
The frick?
Torrent it dingdong
Whoa, he's literally me.
Great movie.
no thanks, I hate animal movies
I'm not even religious but I still love this movie. I love all Biblical kinos.
