Why do autistic cope this hard that Blockbuster is gone?

Why do autistic cope this hard that Blockbuster is gone? Surely the library can be a substitute for physical media renting if their autism prevents them from digital downloads or streaming.

You see, Zoomer. People used to go outside. This is before wireless internet, smartphones, Doordash, work-from-home, distance-learning, Amazon delivery, etc.

America was a majority White country and, without a terminally online populace, it was generally an interesting and safe place to go out, explore, and find friends/acquaintances or random activities spontaneously.

Along with community events, regular sports, clubs, leagues, congregations, and other social avenues, people enjoyed the experience of going to the rental store on the way home from somewhere, and felt genuine excitement stumbling upon a tangible flick in physical space. Sure, the movie-watching itself might be the same, but it's like comparing sex with a random hoe you found online and foreplay + sex with a girl you actually pulled in real life.

This. Locally owned rental places were always 100% better. Mine had all the classic B-horror to rent for $1 PLUS free bag of popcorn from the popcorn maker. Blockbuster was for normies looking to rent the latest Ben Stiller comedy. One thing Blockbuster was usually superior at was video game rentals. I remember every time a new game came out, my local place would usually only have 1 or 2 copies, and you had to check every day if it was available for rent. And that was only for the big popular release games. Blockbuster always had many copies of every new game, for every single console.

You just explained why blockbuster was better. Movie and game prices were almost the same and you could get a whole weekend worth of fun from a game instead of a few hours.

          > Movie and game prices were almost the same.
No way, at least not where I was from. I remember the prices at my local place specifically because I was there so often:

          > "New release" movies:
          $3 for 2 days.
          > "Old" movies
          $1 for 1 day.
          > "New" games
          $8 for 5 days
          > "Old" games
          $5 for 5 days

You could rent movies for a day or two, but my place rented games a minimum of 5 days. Sometimes you just want to spend $2 for weekend movies. Plus, you're comparing two different media. It isn't an either/or thing.
