LOL, John Henry was a prisoner in real life. He was sentenced to jail for 10 years in 1866, and was forced to tunnel for C&O Railway. The "white house in the sand" that he was buried in the famous song is actually the white house of the Virginia State Penitentiary.

I've been slow-cooking an idea for a LAm story centered on a family of thieves and my Mexican friends (all 3 of them) thought it sounded cool. I asked why, their response was "just sounds cool".
So I would think it's just because most media portrayals make Latino criminals look cool in spite of their antagonistic alignment.

Clarkson rounded off the remarks by suggesting that the Mexican Ambassador to the United Kingdom would be too lazy to make a complaint.

Because no Mexican/latino with self-respect actually cares about how is prortayed as long as the mexican/latino character is cool.
Speedy is the coolest guy ever, even if he's a stereotype.

Seething and being mad about stereotypes is just an American thing, specially black Americans.

Am an actual Mexican, everyone hated this because is a stereotype about how white Americans see Latinos in general.
And tried to put as many stereotypes it could In a cartoon, making it extremely racist.
Ironically the author is an actual Mexican descendant, so that's make it funnier

Is like the Disney cartoon of the black family but more offensive.
