the movie offers a lot of backstory to both the realistic and supernatural elements. if you seperate the supernatural/weird stuff as an interpretation of evil or human emotions/intent, it makes a lot more sense.
I followed most of the show and the themes but what I mean is the ending was just bizarre kino.

oh yeah, it is obviously bizzare and surreal by design. thats why 'explanations' and essays about twin peaks are irrelevant. there is a core logic to the whole thing but also a lot of ambigious scenes and characters that make a very basic tvshow plot interesting.
I just watched RoboCop yesterday and seeing Albert get blown up after snorting coke of off some breasts is so funny. The guy was so good at playing white collar doofuses
he'a got that punchable douchebag face. perfect villain type character and they subvert it nicely in twin peaks where hes still an eccentric douche, but with a heart
watched S1 and S2, stopped watching S3 since I need to watch the movie first apparently. It's very good, a little boring here and there, but it's good. I don't think there's something more to it other than being well directed, an innovative mix of genres, good characters/actors, great soapy humour and this whole sense of it all being sort of a caricature. Love the settings too. It's simply a tasteful creation.
