AHEM
also to answer your question, it's a great way to end a show, the characters grew through their adventures and are ready to start a new chapter in their life, or die
Because the most poignant moment at this point their shitty lives for the California CalArts rejects was leaving mommy and daddy for college because their insipid lives are just that meaningless.
I'm not sure if I want a cartoon at all if I can't even control how many seasons it will get and have to make an alternative ending for every end of a season
Don't lie, you'd have fun with it while you can. When going to a network to do a show, you already know it will go for as long as they say it will. It's weird that you'd even consider signing up when you know that's how it works. Or is that all new to you?
Everyone except a few side characters dies in grand Shakespearean fashion. And if the network complains about characters being killed off, I'll just immediately bring them all back to life, but their heads are on backwards.
>dana: i hate the they lived happily ever after finales, they're cheap >dana: yeah let's finish this show with a they lived happily ever after finale, whatever
>I didn't watch molly's ghost to know the context
The ghost wasn't actually a ghost, he was just a depressed guy, so he goes back to his body and doesn't remember anything, then he leaves town to travel the world
Wait, wait, wait?
I was on the Scratch being a wraith theory train for a long time though I haven't seen the finale I wasn't surprised to hear that it was confirmed
But he loses his memory after going back to his body? What on Earth is the rationale for that?
>What on Earth is the rationale for that?
Cause he lost it when he became a wraith. If they got a season 3 there was gonna be a whole arc that sets it up with Oliver getting Alzheimer's
>Steven's case is fricking moronic, the whole final season was fricking moronic
He's so coward, he was dealing with the consequences of all his past adventures and the mental toll on him, but he escaped, left all those issues behind. Just like his father did, and this motherfricker had the audacity of calling Greg out for it. Fricking Steven became so arrogant and hypocrite in Future. Future was a mistake.
What i really hate is how in peridot's episode it basically has her say he can talk to her about anything, and then the next episode he acts like he has no one to talk to.
Perhaps to show viewers that they have reached the peak of characterization after going through trials and tribulations. Though, it's just a predictable way to end the show.
Steven's is the worst because he's a dirty murderer and should not be left alone. The rest are good.
TGAMM is also ironically the bolder version of the GF ending with the old character losing his memories and they stay lost.
I don't care that I'm eating bait here, but how is Steven a murderer? Technically if you really want to lean into exactly what happens in the show he is the flesh crafted abomination a murderer stuck its soul into but I wouldn't blame Frankenstein's monster for Frankenstein's crimes.
I see where you are coming from but look at it like this, if two boxers were having a fight and one of them died as a result would you call the first one a murderer? I'll give you a hint, the answer to that question is the same answer to whether or not you are autistic.
Jasper was training him and pushing him to test his own limits. Steven had fought her before and had seen her tank blows that would shatter most anyone else. It's negligent manslaughter at the most. Murder requires intent to kill.
Anne and the Pines Twins aren't leaving home, but coming back. And if what i've read about Molly is true, it also fits in the theme of not leaving but returning in some degree.
The Hero's Journey is an endless cycle, not a straight line. By moving on, the Hero takes their growth and uses it to become the mentor to future generations of Heroes, continuing the cycle. Failing to do so results in the stagnation of society, decay, and eventual death. Their story is over, but they can give rise to new stories by inspiring and mentoring new heroes.
Steven left to travel and experience life outside of the skewed bubble gem drama built around him.
Todd left to finally start living.
Anne had to leave or she'd never see her parents again.
Dipper left because Mabel needed a security blanket.
>Steven left to travel and experience life outside of the skewed bubble gem drama built around him.
Steven pulled a Greg. Hypocritical coming from him after calling Greg out for it.
Its "the adventure continues" ending
The show is over but the "heroes" lives go on
Basically the "the series is over BUT maybe we'll get greenlit for more later"
A more friendly version of "kill them all and let hasbro figure it out" that the beast wars team did for season finales.
There was a point for movies when SO many movies were doing this shit. I came up with some theory it was the writers being sick of having to work on sequels and trying to write the movies in a way they had definitive endings (Even though that would never stop a studio). At the time, Frozen 2, Toy Story 4, How To Train Your Dragon 3, and even Wreck It Ralph 2 had these very elongated "GOODBYE" endings.
I watched Hocus Pocus 2 with my niece and nephew on Disney+ when it came out and the ending was fricking depressing. I don't know why, but heartbreaking endings seem to have replaced the ending dance party.
I posted on Cinemaphile how steven should be driving away in a bevan because everyone was moronic or mean. They actually frickin did it lmao what a dog shit ending.

I'm guessing that you still live with your parents.
I'm not judging. Some people just can't afford it.
I'm just pointing it out.
It shows that the story is over, sure there's a chance they might return but it's unlikely. Although I wonder, how would (You) end a cartoon?
I'm not sure if I want a cartoon at all if I can't even control how many seasons it will get and have to make an alternative ending for every end of a season

>you already know it will go for as long as they say it will
No, it doesn't work that way? In what imaginary world do you live?
Gravity Falls ended prematurely due to this conflict.
>show ending when the creator wants it to despite le network wanting to continue it forever is "ending prematurely"
smartest Cinemaphilegay
it's just a simple way to end a story, also it happens all the time, even in books, it's very common
I personally prefer the celebratory ending where everyone is having a big party/festival, ending on the high note instead of after it.
everyone leaves after the journey is complete
Everyone except a few side characters dies in grand Shakespearean fashion.
And if the network complains about characters being killed off, I'll just immediately bring them all back to life, but their heads are on backwards.
leaving to never return is such a cheap ending. all the characters you grew to like are just gone? it's shit like Samurai Jack undoing the future
>leaving to never return
Who said that
>dana: i hate the they lived happily ever after finales, they're cheap
>dana: yeah let's finish this show with a they lived happily ever after finale, whatever
i mean i could go search the Twitter post, but eh, it's Twitter, who cares.
they're telling you to
I will just watch the next show for children that comes out
Anne doesn't live in frogworld, she had a home to go back
Dipper and Mabel were in gravity falls for a vacation, they don't live there
Steven's case is fricking moronic, the whole final season was fricking moronic
I didn't watch molly's ghost to know the context
>I didn't watch molly's ghost to know the context
The ghost wasn't actually a ghost, he was just a depressed guy, so he goes back to his body and doesn't remember anything, then he leaves town to travel the world
WHAT
What did you think had happened from that image?
Yeah the finale gets real weird
This is fricking stupid
Maybe that's why it got cancelled.
Why?
So his wife just spent her whole life going on vacations? What?
Wait, wait, wait?
I was on the Scratch being a wraith theory train for a long time though I haven't seen the finale I wasn't surprised to hear that it was confirmed

>What on Earth is the rationale for that?
Cause he lost it when he became a wraith. If they got a season 3 there was gonna be a whole arc that sets it up with Oliver getting Alzheimer's
But doesn't the first season finale hinge on Molly purposefully wraithing herself and being fine afterwards?
Cause she didn't do it for too long.
>Steven's case is fricking moronic, the whole final season was fricking moronic
He's so coward, he was dealing with the consequences of all his past adventures and the mental toll on him, but he escaped, left all those issues behind. Steven leaves to finally live as a human, away from all the gem shit.
he should've invited the Pizza sisters.
Things change, anon. Show's over. Time to move on.
>main character
Two of those characters weren't introduced until the finale
Cheeky c**t you are
ripped off so much shit that they had to do the main character
Its a message to you manchildren to leave mom’s basement and touch grass
Because years have passed. They're now fully grown, got a job, got married with kids, etc.
Cinemaphile doesn't understand that concept.
Are you really villainizing the theme of "Grow up finally and move out of your parents basement" OP?
Really?
Both the Pines and Anne go home though
Perhaps to show viewers that they have reached the peak of characterization after going through trials and tribulations. Though, it's just a predictable way to end the show.
>they have reached the peak of characterization after going through trials and tribulations
But there’s still like six more games after it
Steven's is the worst because he's a dirty murderer and should not be left alone. The rest are good.

He actively killed Jasper. And yeah this show is cheap enough to revive her later, but that doesn't nullify the intention of killing.
>Murder requires intent to kill.
Then this case IS murder. This wasn't sportsmanship, Steven actively killed Jasper.
>Getting filtered by SU Future
Anne and the Pines Twins aren't leaving home, but coming back. And if what i've read about Molly is true, it also fits in the theme of not leaving but returning in some degree.
Steven.
>These days
Fricking heroes journey homie
Including Amphibia is disingenuous as frick
From the first episode the premise of the show is Anne eventually getting back home
Because abandoning your friends makes you grown up and the more friends you abandon the more grown up you are.

Well at least it boosted alot more ConniexGreg NTR art.
Steven Universe would have a better ending if all the gems got wiener vored by white diamond after she made them sniff and lick her gigantic feet.
