it's a more efficient codec. same quality, smaller size. you're just angry your shitbox of a computer doesn't have the processing power required to play x265
>smaller size
It's literally twice as big in OP's image. Why would you tell such brazen lies on Al Gore's internet?
What the frick did I ever do to you to deserve such disrespect?

hi tech illterate. it is because of the settings, x265 is more efficient algo that makes files of the SAME quality much smaller. This doesnt account for people who dont know how to use it or use higher quality settings. x865 has 8, 10 and 12 bit color schemes as well
>trust me bro it's worth it to download 50gb files so you can load more colors that the human eye can't even see, just buy some ~~*external hard drives*~~ if you don't have the space
You must think I was born yesterday
Where did I suggest you download 50gb files you mouth breathing donkey. I specifically said it makes smaller file sizes for same quality. Are you an actual moron? Also you can see the color differences or else why would they use it you fricking moron

>I specifically said it makes smaller file sizes
And OP's image shows that the exact same movie is twice as big in x265.
Computer file sizes aren't golf scores, the bigger number is worse. >Also you can see the color differences or else why would they use it
You've gaslit yourself and I'm happy that you're happy but personally I'm not going to fall for this nonsense.

I already explained it is because of the settings the person who encoded it used. Yah it is bigger but is using higher quality setting you stupid frick. Actually it using the same settings because the person didnt lower them. But the same settings = much better quality in 265 which is why I said the person using the encoder doesnt understand this most likely. They most likely used the 20 setting for both when they could have lowered the 265 setting to 15 or 10.

Kek, you're tying yourself in knots and can't even make this shit make sense from one sentence to the next.
Just accept that you're objectively wrong and move on with your life, I forgive your stupidity fwiw
Nobody does. Zoomers stream, boomers stream, most millennials stream. Its that gabe quote about beating piracy by offering a better service, personally I don't think streaming services do offer a better service but normies categorically do and even the nerds who ought to be pirating don't seem to anymore. Piracy as a significant thing will die with millenials, I mean it kinda already has since you never hear companies b***hing about piratebay anymore like you did 15 years ago, so they clearly arent feeling the impact like they once were.
In Australia they banned piracy websites. Your ISP blocks your connection to them and it shows a message like this. Not only piratebay, your ISP also blocks sites like kisscartoon under the guise of 'the website is unsafe'. People aren't just losing interest there's an active effort to stop piracy
OG Pirate here, I hung up my captains hat for many years and recently got back into it. It's the most satisfying thing knowing that you have your kino saved- you don't have to rely on bullshit streaming sites or services. Streaming sites have potato tier quality in both audio and video.
>inb4 poorgay
I was subbed to multiple streaming sites and many prime video channels, region locks fricked with it and I am not going to dish out on a vpn- just because you have money doesn't mean you should blow it to just watch some movies.
This. I tried watching planet of the apes on netflix but the quality was abysmal so I just torrented it. They are slowly decreasing the quality and introducing ads so you must pay more to get the same luxuries as before, it's so shit
hide.me has a free browser plug in vpn, give it a try
I used to buy dvds/blurays but they've stopped giving a shit about special features like commentaries and behind the scenes stuff so there's no reason not to pirate now. I think it's really sad tbh

thanks but I don't trust free vpns. tor browser gets around it and I've never gotten a complaint from my ISP despite never using a vpn
do a direct download instead of torrent
https://yts.mx/movies/dredd-2012
if you click "watch now" at the bottom it gives a link where you can just dl the video
then it takes you to this page where you can click the arrow at the bottom here to download mp4 or click "download" at the top here and it is a zip file with the subs included
you are downloading torrents where the other users have your ip. This is private server where you can use that free vpn if you want I sent you a link to or tor. This is a no brainer

I'm the aussie not that guy. YTS quality is on-par with netflix, I try to get 12-24GB movies
change your DNS
Doesn't work. It worked when they blocked Cinemaphile after the christchurch shooting though
delete system32, that's the folder which tells the ISP that you're in Australia
The point is a lot of people wouldn't know how to bypass it or they'd get scared off. It at least makes piracy more difficult
then it takes you to this page where you can click the arrow at the bottom here to download mp4 or click "download" at the top here and it is a zip file with the subs included
Because they're smart and invest the money they would've spent on media in index funds instead and can retire years earlier thanks to not being moron consoomers.
For the obvious reasons, but it has to be said that they have remarkably shit taste if picrel gives an accurate image of their preferences.
Watching and acquiring nu-slop without paying will still cost time that they could have spent on something more worthwhile instead.
>Watching
I'm not watching any of that I get them for my gf, movies peaked with Casablanca I just watch that once a month. >acquiring
Literally 1 click, get a grip
>mfw watching a 600mb copy of Beyond Thunderdome
Why waste the space? This way you can pack in ten times as many movies. Remember if the ladies don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
Is it possible to connect a large storage drive directly to my tv to play movies off of it? And can I download said movies on my computer and then put them on the drive wirelessly? I haven't pirated anything since college but now that I must return I want to take the experience to the next level
>Is it possible to connect a large storage drive directly to my tv to play movies off of it?
most tvs have a usb ports. but some TVs only mount drives with tiny capacity
>And can I download said movies on my computer and then put them on the drive wirelessly?
for wireless just buy a tiny pc liek a NUC and connect it to the TV with hdmi
Yeah there's an app called Plex that does that, you tell it where to look on your HDD and what kind of media it is (movies, tv, music) then it populates a personal streaming app with your files, complete with cover art plot synopsis and IMDB links for actors. So long as your PC is on and the plex server is running you can log on with a roku stick and stream your own stuff.
>he thinks those numbers are big
just fricking lol
its extremely easy and free
>720p 800MB
who is downloading these
Smart people who realise modern hollyslop isn't worth more than that
oh no not the yts torrent
Thanks YIFY
people who watch movies on a thinkpad
Indians
Me. Looks and sounds fine on my 1080p screen
Normal people who are not autistically obsessed with compression quality other than "fine".
I watch on a 1080p computer monitor (4k gaming is a scam)
Jeets
I don't watch pixels, I watch content.

Except everyone uses it to make the size small enough that it does have worse quality.
x265 is the next gen standard tech illiterate

You morons. This obviously a data mining thread. Frick out intern!! A couple of lucky guesses wont stop piracy.
Why OP make the same threads in different boards?
