>Batman fans used to love Bob Kane, until they discovered he stole most of his ideas and all the credit from Bill Finger. That makes sense
>Harry Potter fans used to love JK Rowling, until she became transphobic, even though most Harry Potter fans are liberals. That makes sense
>Star Wars fans used to love George Lucas, until... he kept making Star Wars movies that were just as good and successful as the others...

The hate for him was mostly non-existent until reddit letter media made those reviews shitting on the prequels. And since most people are npcs who don't or dislike something unless someone tells them to, many a homosexual latched on to them
>The hate for him was mostly non-existent until reddit letter media made those reviews shitting on the prequels
Uh, okay? This isn't even in english. What point are you trying to make?
this addresses everything. also george went against congress or the film registry and demanded that classics shouldn't be touched (except for his, he can remake/re-edit/specialize/etc his films as much as he wants). it's a great documentary.
>also george went against congress or the film registry and demanded that classics shouldn't be touched (except for his, he can remake/re-edit/specialize/etc his films as much as he wants).
he was talking specifically about colorizing movies after the original filmmakers died so the situation is in no way comparable
dumb zoomer
Cope. There was a Simpsons episode making fun of the prequels years before RLM even existed.
Simpsons is a show made by and for normalgays so it doesn't count. Normies are very careful to not enjoy things too much because they pathologize people being rapt by their interests as "obsessed" and "autistic" so they can only enjoy things on the surface level and if they think it's bad on the surface level they write it off entirely as bad
Where did this revisionist history about people liking the prequels until RLM came along come about? They were a punching bag for years, there was an entire goddamn documentary about it. Shows like Family Guy and The Simpsons even made fun of them.
it definitely wasn't just RLM. that's wrong. hating the prequels is a big part of bro nerd and reddit culture in general, like the big bang theory, seth rogen and kevin smith movies, etc
They came from Zoomers and mentally ill people
The movies were extremely successful. Haters were a minority until YouTube gave them a voice.
SW fans love Lucas. Nu-SW drag queens who dilate, feminists, and assworm-plagued people prefer the woke Disney stuff.
for me, it was jarjar, I know he made him to appeal to kids but I was a kid when Episode 1 came out and I hated that annoying fricker even then, learning the actor almost killed himself gave me some small schadenfreude
but for most fans now I'd say they just hate him because of the yidsney sale, I would rather see SW stone dead, (and haven't consumed any of it since TLJ and will not consume any more) than see the mouse have it.
I loved Jar Jar as a kid
I guess I never looked at SW as needing obnoxious comic relief, even as a kid.
I just didn't find him obnoxious
Yes, but you were also a fatherless little shit who ate worms to try to impress people.
I love my dad and he loves me
I loved the ewoks
>I love my dad and he loves me
Yes, and i bet your mom told you he's coming back some day to meet you, when he gets back from his encyclopedia selling job.
lol what are you talking about? he lives at home
Yeah, at a home 7 states away with his gay lover Gary.
are you just blogposting about your shitty upbringing? stop projecting on me weirdo
I saw Return of the Jedi when I was 8 years old and even then I knew the “Ewoks” were shit.
If you liked Jar Jar, then I beg you not to reproduce.
were you one of those "special" kids?
Are you like a 60 year old OT autist or something? Cause normal kids who grew up at that time liked Jar Jar
I wanted him to frick off so we could go back to the lightsabers
>Jar Jar
>Finn, Rey, Rose, commander purple-hair, space Leia, and everything else in the sequel trilogy
Which is worse? Be honest.
They're both terrible. I don't see much point in arguing which is more or less terrible. Doesn't matter, they both suck dick.
Lucas is responsible for both, technically, he could've just not sell the franchise
The sequel characters
>for me, it was jarjar, I know he made him to appeal to kids but I was a kid when Episode 1 came out and I hated that annoying fricker even then, learning the actor almost killed himself gave me some small schadenfreude
no kid ever reacted like this to jarjar even once. this is the reaction of a childish adult
Only Yidsney stockholders hate Lucas.
Well, no one really believes he sold to Disney because they were artistically the best custodians for Star Wars. He did it because they were paying the most. He prostituted it out. He took something beautiful and he prostituted it to some of the lowest, dirtiest israelites out there in return for money that he didn't even need.
he sold to disney because they were the only people who could fricking afford it
I view the Disney sale as Lucas just washing his hands of the whole thing. He didn't wanna deal with whiny b***hass Star Wars redditBlack folk anymore. He had plans for the sequels and decided not to make any of them.
Meh, they would have sucked anyway if he made them. No real loss. Star wars died in the 80s guys, sorry, come to terms with it.
Star Wars was great in 1999, 2002, and 2005 though
Have you talked to your therapist about these irrational feelings you've had about the prequels?
>hey doc, I like the Star Wars prequels
>me too
>cool
>cool
Yea I did, turns out we both liked 'em.
Star wars became a success in spite of George Lucas, not because of him. The OT was made by a massive amount of talented people who ganged up and knew when to tell him to STFU and let them do their business.
He proved that he was never the creative force behind the series when he butchered the OT in the stupid special editions, and then went on to make that cancerous abortions of the prequels.
Here, learn some stuff. This guy debunks this whole myth with specific sources
Star Wars was essentially created ex nihilo by George Lucas
>essentially
uh huh.
Yes, essentially. He came up with the entire thing in his mind, this "massive amount of talented people" people give credit to now all credited Lucas, and most of their work was very minute. It was Lucas who invented everything you love about Star Wars. This youtuber cited all his sources and backed up everything with facts
Which brings me back to the original question in the OP, why have Star Wars fans started to insist George Lucas doesn't deserve credit for coming up with Star Wars?
>why have Star Wars fans started to insist George Lucas doesn't deserve credit for coming up with Star Wars?
Because he didn't. Just some mid grade youtube vid claims differently doesn't make it true. He had almost nothing to do with the second two films, because he made a total ass of himself by taking everything on in the first one and had to be bailed out by numerous actually talented people.
>just some mid grade youtube vid claims differently
no no no anon, those "numerous actually talented people" claim differently. this narrative you are sharing was made up recently by star wars fans who hate lucas. I want to know why they made it up.
>this narrative you are sharing was made up recently by star wars fans who hate lucas
There was documentaries made about this in the fricking 90s stupid. Hell, there's raw vids on youtube of the actual original star wars shoot where everyone treats Lucas like a laughable moron, the cast jeers him because they can't stand his ass, people had to hold his dumbass hand through the whole thing.
>source: ass
Anon, would you be so kind as to post links to these "raw vids", please?
I'd even accept those documentaries made about this in the 90s
There used to be a series of vids that showed the original movies, like the theatrical cuts, but between each shot they would play tons of footage of behind the scenes stuff pertained to the theatrical shot. The vids were like 6 hours long for each movie. Looks like they've been memory holed.
Man I didn’t know Lucas had the capacity for such a vast coverup. How crafty of him
how many posts until you bring up the gay theory that his wife edited it too? lying sack of shit
B-but anon his wife SAVED it in the edit. (he will conveniently neglect to mention how literally every movie that has ever been made is """"saved""""" in editing)
he will also conviniently neglect to mention that the version of the movie that was shit was also edited by marcia lucas
Lucas's wife edited Star Wars and Empire. She left and oh wow, suddenly there was never a good SW movie again. What does that tell you?
it tells me you don't know what survivorship bias is.
>Marcia Lucas worked on good film so film was good because of her!!!
>and bad movie she didn't work on was bad because there was no her!!!
stone solid logic my friend, just ignore the other thousand or so people who worked on it. She wasn't even the only editor. and she's not the only person who worked on the original who wasn't involved int he prequels.
No Logic? RLM fan perhaps? sees a video that debunks his "theory" goes with worthless platitude hypothesis instead.
And what work did she do in editing? What specific changes did she make?
Oh, mostly ones that were reverse and overturned by George before the first films release? Wow, so cool! Bravo Marcia!
The world would be a better place if Star Wars never existed. Lucas should have stopped making movies after his greatest film, American Graffiti.
I also don't want to hear about Indiana Jones
>Hurr he came up with the idea of remaking 30s and 40s adventure serials, what a genius
Fans hated Lucas for reissuing Star Wars every few years with alterations. Then they hated him for the prequels. Now those same people love him because they now see how shitty it all could have been.
with the recent rise in popularity of Dune I've been watching some Dune lore videos and it's amazing how much shit Lucas stole directly and got away with it
Dune stole directly from Lawrence of Arabia - like Black person obvious directly.
I don't hate him, not even after RLM as other anons claim. He just got old and stopped making good movies; it happens to everyone. Spielberg started making shit movies as well.
The prequels are bad movies but that doesn't mean I hate the man.
I was a kid when the Prequels came out. Didn't have an opinion on Jar Jar. Just skipped his parts. Liked the first movie for the fith with Maul. The race was ok.
The second movie I hated it and watched it in theaters. I didn't think anything about Yoda jumping around, but simply the movie didn't make it. It was boring and I thought it was a bad movie. I was 7? I think.
The third movie I loved it. Thought it was the coolest thing ever. Felt weird seeing the hero be brainwashed by the evil. But it was enjoayble.
My favourite movie from was ROTJ. I didn't like Empire (I think I was spoiled by Toy Story 2), and the first movie was very exciting, no lightsaber battles, weird special effects...
Cus they are whiny gays
I hate George because he sold Star Wars to Disney. Before that, I was okay with him even if RotJ, TPM and AotC are flawed movies.
Why did he even do it in the first place?
Money I guess
Because Red Letter Media brainwashed people into hating George Lucas.
Mike Stoklasa is jealous of Lucas (George Lucas is everything Mike wishes he was) and decided to devote his life to dethroning him.
Even though this notion is false, I like it simply because it upsets people, and because the thing you said about Mike is unironically partially true.
Mike really does look like a fricking loser when you compare his life to that of George Lucas. His Plinkett reviews really are expressions of envy, a sad and salty little man seething about his betters for hours on end. God knows why they are popular. Lucas uses film as a vehicle for positive messaging and creativity, whereas Mike can only pour personal bitterness and spite into his works.
But anon, he spends AN HOUR talking about the movies! A full hour, analyzing one movie! Isn’t that impressive? And it has funny jokes about dead hookers, lol, so random!
RLM the frick is that? Looks so cringe I'd automatically block that channel if I ever encountered that in the wild.

Marcia bros.... George actually saved star wars from her edits..... NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
