Who is "you"?
(You)
Me?
I really wouldn't bother trying to talk about Finn here. You'll be drowned out.
I don't like any of the younger black actors they are all atrocious
I don't hate him but I see him as wasted potential. At least he got some potential, that's more than I can say about Rey
Issue with the new trilogy is they made a female Luke clone instead of Finn the main protagonist. Finn was genuinely more interesting in character and origin than Rey. We didn't need a rehash of Luke's story.
I really don’t. As annoying and as forced racial diversity is, a well built black man doing some crazy physical shit that requires lots of strength won’t ever take me out of the experience of a movie like an average build women will. Grant it I never watched any of them past Force Awakens so maybe he became far more annoying.
aren't all stormtroopers supposed to be clones of jango fett? why is he a Black person?
they literally bring it up in every movie
pay attention
i only watched some clips of attack of the clones on youtube years ago, i don't care about star wars. now give me an answer or frick off.
Between episode 3 and 4 they hired normal humans, clones age faster than normal humans
>i don't care about Star Wars
he said, in his second post in a star wars thread
If only you knew how bad things are
stormtroopers=/=clone troopers
>He never played the battlefront 2 501st campaign
Oh my sweet summer zoomer
Didn't Disney themselves say this wasn't even canon anymore?
Finn should have been a low level imperial shuttle pilot instead of a stormtrooper randomly getting PTSD.
That was the clone troopers. Storm Troopers were recruited from various core systems. There's a bunch of old (now non-cannon) writing that explained how they were trained.
Because he's black. Despite that, he was actually my favorite of the three protagonists in The Force Awakens as Rey and the pilot guy were just so boring. The movie as a whole sucked though, so I didn't bother watching the rest until the entire trilogy came out and I watched them all drunk with my friends. He became just as boring as everyone else though. All the Disney Star Wars movies sucked, but The Last Jedi was the most entertaining solely due to Ryan Johnson intentionally destroying all the teased story hooks. The hilarity of Disney being forced to revive Palpatine with zero setup because they had no other ideas was more entertaining than any actual part of the Disney trilogy.
I hate star wars in general.
Harrison Ford is right, Star Wars is for soiboys. That’s why he hates being in it.
Ugly actor playing a bad character in a trilogy where everything was either wrong or wasted.
kind of really all that needs to be said any more at this point.
never had a problem with him "betraying" his fellow stormtroopers. we never saw that his "friend" was actually a friend just another stormtrooper who was dying and seeing that freaked him out. he was a coward who b***hed out in combat and ran. i thought that was a nice starting point.
too bad rian sent him to the back of the bus
I almost never think about Finn the character, he's forgettable and a wasted opportunity, those are my thought about him. The actor himself can die for what he did to Pacific Rim.
I think Boyega is fricking ugly with his giant nostrils and pancake lips. Plenty of good looking black guys out there but you cast the most niggest looking ape man you could find.

Women wrote him. That's why I hate him. He has nothing to him. He has no edge. No bite. There's nothing cool about him. He isn't conflicted, he isn't awesome, he isn't permanently crippled by a lightsaber or heroically sacrificed, his love interest is impotent, the actor is good but isn't really handsome so most women will look right past him as more than "Rey's kinda funny friend".
He's inert and impotent throughout the entire story. He makes no declarative moves on Rey, he is utterly fricking wasted on a nonsense sideplot in a nonsense film and truly the trilogy did him no favors. His character was viable for a romantic three-way will-they-won't-they unnecessary Twilight situation but they cucked out. None of these people are lookers so watching them whine and moan about romance probably would've made the movie suck even harder. Anyway Finn has no heart that matters. At least Poe was fighting to do something in the second film. The lame shit they set up for him in the third film with that black chick being his sister is STUPID. Just give him an actual romance and not a STUPID FRICKING LAST DITCH LOW EFFORT OUT OF THE BLUE FANFICTION CHARACTER sibling. Poe gets an old flame in the form of some obnoxious b***h in a helmet but Finn can't get a Good End that men would actually be happy for considering his he has virtually nothing else? Lame. Tying him to the only other prominent black man in the series? Super lame. Having a girl as the protagonist? Doomed from the start I don't give a frick what you do. Activists and hacks don't know how to tell stories staight men want to see.
You know what's really moronic about Finn? Him being black means the evil empire that's supposed to be practically a 1;1 analogy for the nazi party is somehow a diverse and inclusive organization that recruits and accepts people of all ethnicities. Even the space nazis are woke in these fricking movies
>You know what's really moronic about Finn?
The fact that his character never made sense on any level and the fact that they cast a fat Black person as a character who up until this point has spent his entire life training to be an elite soldier.
They couldn't even commit to his checkered past, he was a janitor.
He was an elite soldier who was also somehow a janitor who was also somehow not indoctrinated, but no one noticed. He was also a child soldier who had never been blooded for some reason, but they decided to send him out for rhe first mission on the first orders most critical mission up to that point. Then he decided to become instant best friends with the guy who killed his former best friend and who caused his trauma, which he instantly forgot as he gleefully shot the only brothers/family he had even known.
>Women wrote him
>He's inert and impotent
exactly. all of these characters are just "there". Storytelling 101 would have your characters being DRIVEN by some strong desire to do something. Finn and Rey just kind of go along with things
people who lack testosterone (women and nu-male estrogen basedboys) clearly are less active than men and this bleeds over into their writing, especially standard hero action stories.
This.
Never had a problem with Lando Calrissian. Him leading the assault on Death Star II was perfect.
Mace Windu was ok... kinda boring in Ep1 but in ep3 he's awesome.
Boyega is just the black Shia Labeouf, has zero charisma and we're supposed to like him only because "he deserves it because he's black". Fricking Hollywood.
Purely socio-economic reasons
making him and white Mary Sue a canon ship was a bridge too far for chinese audiences so they shipped him with the ugly chinese girl instead for extra diversity and inclusion points.
everything about modern star wars is wrong.
>Why do you hate Finn?
Because he's a potentially interesting character who's completely squandered. The guy who's been raised by a fascist military dictatorship from birth to be a stormtrooper should not be your comedy relief character and betraying and killing his comrades is not a decision that should be taken lightly.
Also he's played by a catastrophically ugly big nosed boon.
Turns out he was a janitor haha and yet the only captain storm trooper in the whole First Order and the only one in chrome armour knows him personally
i hate Finners
Have you tried playing as him?
honestly? it's because he's ugly. I have no problem with good looking black actors. Finn is so fricking ugly it is distracting
also, he can't act
The actor they portrays him is an arrogant shithead that has child bearing hips.
The ex-Stormtrooper angle was interesting to me and then they did abso-fricking-lutely nothing with it.
I thought the same thing with the premise of the first Mandalorian season, they make a point to state that the empire is reduced to squabbling splinter groups. Then towards the middle of the season they say frick that and instead of acting any different, they act exactly like the fricking empire does. They'll court the idea of a new perspective on the empire and then when they get just a little too close they get scared.
I still have no idea how the politics of the galaxy works after return of the jedi.
Neither do any of the people who currently write Star Wars. That's why every other thing in the setting contradicts the last thing you read.
That's why you read the eu instead of continuing to suck mouse wiener, you fricking homosexual.
I can vividly remember that brief moment I was actually interested in the movie because an ex-Storm Trooper was a novel idea that was rich with potential for a morally gray person who wants redemption and they just fricking squandered it so hard it makes you realize they never even realized the potential they had. They were totally blind to it.
me and my friend burst out laughing in theater when finn and kylo fave revealed the first time
what an annoying shot. is she actually kneeling down to give him a hand.
I actually really don't hate him at all. Boyega, though, I don't like at all, as a person, unrelated to the color of his skin or apish features.
Finn was mostly just a disappointment. They had a chance to make a bad ass tough guy character and instead made him a lame joke. Then, instead of giving him a real arc where he can rise to the occasion and become the grizzled bad ass he was meant to be, he just gets relegated to irrelevant side adventures. He starts off as a goofy idiot who stumbles into the plot, and he ends the trilogy as a goofy idiot who bumbles around the main plot without interacting directly with it.
What a waste of a character.
Because he was wasted potential right out the door.
>Backstory of being a PTSD-struck cowardly Stormtrooper literally didn't matter at all 5 minutes into the first movie.
>Basedface scene where he ignites Luke's saber and fights TR-8-OR instilled the false idea that he'd basically be a Kyle Katarn-adjacent character.
>Gets sidelined in the sequel for some truly awful casino sideplot that doesn't actually end up mattering at all.
>Meaningful self-sacrifice scene is wienerblocked by Squinty Potato, for a scene that genuinely ends up making no sense.
>Might as well have not existed in the third one.
I think the bigger question is why did the writers and directors hate him.
he misspelled "breathe" as "breath" on twitter when trying to come across as the more intelligent and level headed one
He’s ugly. Some african-americans have decent bones structures & facial features thanks to their white dna which is why anons prefer the actors of the 90s.
Could a white actor employed by Disney have gotten away with a "laying the pipe" tweet referring to his female costar?
>white actor
>employed by Disney
I guess we’ll never know
Touché.
I hate that his character had potential and they completely blew it. He could have done something interesting like from the Colin Trevorrow script and humanize stormtroopers, and inspire a stormtrooper rebellion, but in the end he was just the comic relief gun toting black. his sacrifice to fight kylo at the end of Force Awakens was pointless because they just stuck him in a bacta tank for 10 minutes and he was fine. they should have had him do more buddy cop shit with poe. just shit films
Can't have him do anything heroic or manly, the force is female now. Can't show male bonding either, because that would detract from how amazing women are by making you care more about the men in the story. That's why every man in these films is emasculated and reduced to being a female accessory. Even Kylo Ren is ultimately defined by his adversarial relationship to Rey. He loses any kind of coherent purpose or goal in the second film and just starts obsessing over Rey, eventually kills his own boss for no real reason, then betrays everything he previously stood for to die for her.
they def frick his character he was supposed to be a scoundrel that learn to use the light saber just like kyle katarn.
He was a member of the Empire's Stormtrooper Corps who deserted service after learning the Galactic Empire was responsible for the death of his father.
see basically the same story as kyle.
Because they turned him into a joke for The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker
I feel bad for Boyega.
>I feel bad for Boyega.
Frick that moronic dumb frick Black person.
>I feel bad for Boyega.
I envy your ignorance of his prolific social media posts.
Couldn't have happened to a better person.
Because I hate Black folk.
>defects from the FO because he doesn't want to kill people
>upon leaving the ship he immediately starts massacring his own friends that he's probably known for years
he should have been a pacifist or something
his back story was interesting, I wanted him to be force sensitive and face off against Kylo. The story could have gone in so many different ways, but no the fricking woke/feminist/lgbt mind virus was beginning to take root, and we didn't get an interesting story.
