Why so much black bars?
I dislike the fact that the show has a double standard.
>Why so much black bars?
Some people just hate freedom.
I don't hate her, I'm just scared of getting my foreskin caught in her braces.
I adore her
I actually find Mabel funny, I hate Dipper though.
Boring artstyle, Everything looks static try some dynamic posing and working on making things look like they're actually moving instead of barbie dolls being posed. Too much dialog if I wanted that many words I'd read a book. Also stop tripgayging Black person
>meh meh meh meh meh meh
frick you
Thanks anon, I'm sure he will in no way think you're me and this will fix everything instead of making it worse
damn, really thought I'd licked the static posing. I'll have to work harder. Starting to grasp that line-of-action shit.
This is literally based on a greentext I wrote though, so it's gonna be long and wordy.
>meh meh meh meh meh meh
well frick you too
I'd say his art is decent, but not very expressive. I don't even mean facially expressive though. He should try some more dynamic perspectives and experiment with foreshortening. For example, having a character on her back is fine, but if you tilt the camera with it, it instantly becomes way more attractive.
I won't say you're a saint, but you're the best kind of sinner, CF.
Like your stuff Cold, but I'm not really a fan of this style of faces.
Just tryin somethin new. aping DoublePines as hard as I can, it's doing neat things to my expressions. I fully expect it to become more anime over time.
at least i'm not doing the outer-nostril-corner detailing. I don't know how anyone stands doing that.
don't get mad at anon, he's just a nopon.
>aping DoublePines as hard as I can,
Yeah, I could tell. Personally I think your skills are better applied in more stylized designs, but I won't begrudge you for experimenting and trying to expand your artistic range.
She needs correction. She's part of what's wrong with gen Z.
People tend to weirdly over emphasize her selfishness
The show did let her get off way too easy with being self centered but she didn't fricking do a hate crime
>she didn't fricking do a hate crime
Let's be honest, if she did Cinemaphile would love her for it.
plus every show gives special treatment to girls, and has at least my entire lifetime.
It actually took me a really long time to realize how badly I'd internalized all that, and how I was giving all the flaws (and thereby, interesting characteristics) to my male characters, with only the most tomboyish females having anything remotely bad such as being kinda dumb or impetuous.
You're raised on the paradigm that it's only funny for a guy to get shot down romantically, or injured, or just fricked with by life. But then you actually try to do that with female characters and it turns out it works great. Maybe even better. Not that a girl would ever be shot down romantically, but you get my point.
Reminds me of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Kaitlin Olson (Dee's actress) actually had to ask for Dee to be brought down to the rest of The Gang's level.
Gumball is the only exception to this alot of the female cast gets physically hurt and don't even get away what their doing most of them time.
Redditor
>The show did let her get off way too easy with being self centered
And that's we're hard on her.
No one is pissed off at Bill Cipher even though we don't root for him, because Bill Cipher lost and got his comeuppance. No one is frustrated over Dipper getting away with jack because Dipper doesn't get away with jack. Mabel is set up for a humbling on so many counts...and it just doesn't happen
Yeah, the time travel episode is a good example. Delaying your oneitis who will never be with you from getting into a relationship is not more important than keeping a beloved pet.
ehh naw they would have ended up together
the secret here is A) they should have tried more re-dos and B) Dipper should have just refused to throw it, telling her it'll hit her in the eye and/or jumped up in the way of it
I haven’t watched the show, so, the only thing I have to go on is rule 34, so no.
It's a fun mystery show with lovable characters, although I assume you got your ass mad spoiled on it...
I don’t know shit about it, other than the fact that there’s a triangle guy.
go watch. if you don't enjoy the first couple episodes then it's not for you, but you really shouldn't get spoiled just in case you love it.
Yeah, I should push it up the backlog now that I think about it.
It's really damn good, even if you don't care about the mystery plot stuff, it's still just a lot of great character moments and some gags that feel straight out of old Simpsons (largely Matt Chapman's doing, I bet)
yes that is a perfect example. and American Dad got so much better when Francine stopped being the voice of reason and started being a ditzy adorable idiot.
Personally I think Mabel (and Star and some others people complain about) are a great step toward accepting girls as the flawed beings they are. Getting special treatment is just part of being kind of moronic, the thing is you also need to be disciplined and curtailed. That's the next step.
fun show even if S2 was a bit rushed. It's been a while since I've watched but overall I think it's good and probably the best "lore" cartoon there is
once again smeet i'm into into a lot of what's going on here, but you've done a masterful job at it.
hey what does a hairband like that even do for hair, like how does it change once it's removed? it's not just holding her swept-back bangs on the sides or something, is it?
Artists should be friends. especially artists who both like drawing erotic mabels.
not* into
I need to sleep
>hey what does a hairband like that even do for hair, like how does it change once it's removed? it's not just holding her swept-back bangs on the sides or something, is it?
In most cases, yes that is its intended purpose. Though you can just wear it purely for fashion purposes.
>Artists should be friends. especially artists who both like drawing erotic mabels.
But what if they compete to see who can draw the most erotic Mabels?
well that's why the term 'friendly competition' exists, anon!
also Most Erotic Mabels sounds like a wonderful early 2000s website from back when the web was great.
>well that's why the term 'friendly competition' exists, anon!
Hatred breeds results. Hate is how we got to the moon, and hate is how we'll get the best fapping material.
You can't fap with fists clenched in ire, anon.
Not with that attitude.
we secretly wanted to love russia, they just made it hard
>Artists should be friends
and I'm sure her hair is going over her ears and the headband is keeping it there.
Taking any requests Smeet?
>CF and Smeet in the same thread
Only one thing can happen now.
FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
Because Hirsch wrote her to have the awful qualities he believes his sister has.
Basically he wrote his self-insert Dipper to be the victim
Considering the comics he wrote
I think its more the other writers liked her too much
yeah but come on, everything he did from the last 5 episodes on was in response to public response, this more than anything
not that there's anything wrong with listening to your audience, but it isn't really the same as doing your own thing
>is that an eleven year old
Uoohh correction is needed
she was great in s1, could be a tad annoying but she had a certain charm about her that made her endearing despite occasionally doing something objectively shitty to somebody
then in s2 they kept making her do shitty things and never facing any real consequences for it, but they forgot to make her charming and likable so she just becomes tiresome to watch
'the last mabelcorn' was kind of confusing
like she has to admit she has flaws but then it turns out the unicorn was just fricking with her
last mabelcorn was really contrived with Mabel's bad deeds like the dandelion stuff but what was even the theme for that b-plot? I thought it was going to be something about girly morals not being enough with Wendy or taking the good with the bad but it's just all over the place. Why did the other unicorns even expose the scam and then fight together?
>Why did the other unicorns even expose the scam and then fight together?
They hate each other, but they hate outsiders more.
Ah, so they're anons.
I don't,bye
Dipper has wider hips and a puffier chest.
Pretty sure she wouldn't dress loose.
she would do anything for a boy she likes
you know that to be true
Whose the chick with red earrings and the one with the afro? Also do you have single fact to back up that statement?
>Whose the chick with red earrings and the one with the afro?
Pacifica's friends, one of whom is presumably named Tiffany. They make a few appearances.
>Also do you have single fact to back up that statement?
Not that anon, but she staged an elaborate puppet musical for a puppet weirdo she briefly felt attraction to.
I think this picture convey well the sentiment of Cinemaphile over Mabel.
Would Stan even care?
Not to some massive extent, he'd probably pull Dipper aside to have a talk about treating your siblings well and not striking out in anger. That'd probably be the bigger issue Stan would have with it.
???
Watching it for the first time. On episode 4.
I dont know why you guys hate Mabel. Without spoilers, what the frick did she do?
look it's just
did you ever have a sister? did you notice how she got away with everything while you got punished way harder? and did you notice how you grew up into a real human being, while girls all grow up into monsters? it's that. they're projecting that onto mabel because this show was made at a time when that was happening. It's about as valid as feeling all 'eew racism' just for a show in the 60s having a black guy and he's a butler.
When did Dipper get "punished harder" than Mabel?
basically constantly. but it only bugs you if you're looking for it. it's the double standard. sometimes we get the short end of the stick, sometimes girls do.
Any examples?
Dipper gives up his Wendy-adjacent pool job so Mabel can see Mermando off and still not even be with him
The pig thing
Dipper getting shit on for flirting with girls when it's okay for Mabel to hit on a million boys
the thing dipper gives up at the end so mabel can be happy
etc
spoilin because didn't you say you're only on ep 4? don't read ahead, dude. just enjoy.
I'm a different anon.
>Dipper gives up his Wendy-adjacent pool job so Mabel can see Mermando off and still not even be with him
Mabel was helping a guy reunite with his family.
While Dipper only got the job to perv on someone who wasn't into him in that way.
>The pig thing
Trying to preserve the original timeline and stopping Waddles from having an unhappy life with a pre-character-development Pacifica.
And again, Wendy doesn't like him that way. So he's doomed either way.
>Dipper getting shit on for flirting with girls when it's okay for Mabel to hit on a million boys
I'll give you that one.
But it's not as if Mabel's flirting was seen as a positive thing. Cringe comedy at best.
>the thing dipper gives up at the end so mabel can be happy
A normal childhood?
I'm pretty sure he only has to wait five years for Ford to take him on as a sidekick.
Still not seeing where the hate comes from.
anon!!! spoiler things for that other anon, jeez!
>wasn't into him
It's sad you think that, and that it's such a major part of your argument.
but not as sad as you thinking a normal childhood is even acceptable, let alone good.
>anon!!! spoiler things for that other anon, jeez!
I apologize to the other anon. But honestly the show ended 7 years ago.
He's going to find worse spoilers just by browsing.
>>wasn't into him
>It's sad you think that, and that it's such a major part of your argument.
She wasn't.
She was only friends with him because he was the grand-nephew of her boss.
They did develop a true friendship as the series progressed, but any romantic interest was purely one-sided.
I'm sorry that your porn-addled mind sees any affection from a big-sister figure as thinking she wants to mount him.
>but not as sad as you thinking a normal childhood is even acceptable, let alone good.
Why not?
Just let kids be kids, teens be teens, and they can worry about adult stuff when they actually are adults.
okay keep being blind to reality I guess. obviously the things you support turn out great and in no way tear everything down.
This sounds like projection from someone who is underage. Or a groomer.
It's not like he's being abused or something. Or lives in a war-torn area.
The only issue with his normal life is that it's mundane as frick.
But honestly that's a good thing.
Living out the rest of his childhood in relative peace. And then starting his grand adventure when his body and mind have fully matured.
All of these are about sacrifice though, and that's what people's issue boils down to. Throughout the show, Dipper is constantly sacrificing while Mabel isn't. A step towards a crush he has even if it's unrequited, essentially a partnership with a man who's everything he wants to be, his physical health. Sometimes it's to fix a frick up he made himself, sometimes it's to put someone else in a better spot, but it's always for the greater good.
The only sacrifice Mabel makes iirc are releasing the boyband and the finale, where the former didn't actually build her character and the later painted her in a bad light because she knew what was going on the entire time.
These two side by side makes it seem like Mabel cares about Dipper far less than Dipper cares about Mabel.
Dipper fixes a lot of Mabel's messes because it's a good brother but she rarely does the favor and usually causes problems for him even when something is supposed to be really important to him.
It's not any one thing, it's like the other user said, Dipper gets the short end of the stick.
It actually can make Mabel less fun, the fact she never seens to learn or grow, but it's not worth "hating".
>Watching it for the first time. On episode 4.
>
>I dont know why you guys hate Mabel. Without spoilers, what the frick did she do?
S1 Mabel is fine.
S2 she comes across as the writers' favorite character who can do no wrong.
Also in the finale, once she gets a world where everything goes her way, she forgets about the apocalypse happening outside, which she's partially responsible for.
i gotta say it's nice to see all this even-handed griping. people are being much more fair than usual and I don't even disagree with them.
I don't hate her, although I think she gets off way too easy sometimes when she's supposed to learn a lesson. What I do hate, however, are the people who always go out of their way to excuse every one of her flaws or actions with "She's 12!"
yeah do they not realize that people are like liquids, filling whatever container they're put into? if you excuse behavior with things like someone's age or some other attribute, they'll stay in that life-stage as long as possible. Or even if it's not an excuse, if it's just you throwing your hands up and saying "they're all like that, nothing we can do about it" same deal.
Post her feet.
Where do people like this even come from and how did they find Cinemaphile
twitter/tumblr/reddit thinking this is someplace they can be be part of a community. Instead they find that its an autistic grind stone and unfortunately we have to deal with people getting better and worse because of it. Tism's get sharper or duller and everyone suffers.
they can be a part of a community here. Our community. the community of people who are normal, from olden times til now. Not the tumblr people who want to rewrite the norms.
there is no community you dumbshit, just a loose confederation of like minded asshats and we don't want you or the other guy
that's all community ever is, anon
reminds me of my tumblrina cousin who is now a barista fat ugly dyke
She still has a pussy. Give me her number.
I don't hate Mabel
Why is she shirtless?
Pretty sure 12 year old's aren't fixated on panties.
this appears to be either an edit or an unfinished version that later got the neckhole of the sweater touched up a bit
but hey why not shirtless? Mabel don need no shirt.
>I know how people are at every age and I use apostrophes for plurals
she's fixated on all manner of fashion stuff. Sweaters, shoes, barrettes..
She's annoying and never really gets her comeuppance. She's the cause of many of dipper's problems or at least never really helps him. Like the Puppet episode or the one where she gets the Pig. Its clear her needs go over Dipper's and she never gets put down. Dipper just gets shit on and she gets her way far too often. Dipper will sacrifice things for her and she never does the same for him
She's a shit sister and needs rough brotherly correction
Dipper really does need to get manlier so he can keep her under control
That is true, needs to be more like this
Really dipper needs to take that ignorant happy go lucky brat and make her a more submissive and well behaved girl.
naw that's grumpy low-test shit
Dips needs to grab her by the metaphorical scruff and give her good lovin
Low test if you don't make them love it. A lot of girls need discipline young that rutting and slap could save Mabel from becoming a thot
Well, keep the thread going. there will be art on the quicksoon.
She let her brother give up his dream so that she wouldn't feel lonely. And there was no reason that she couldn't also stay in Gravity Falls (parents don't like separating twin siblings, I should know).
nice smeet, now draw her dressed as wendy
but I've done that already
buh I want moar?
>you wan some 'oar?
>No, sir I said
