Bendis isn't a bad writer and I'm tired of Cinemaphile treating him as Slott tier just because his DC work from the late 2010's was mediocre.

You're write that Cinemaphile is being its usual moronic self in completely writing off Bendis. He WAS a talented writer at one point. But for at least the last decade he's clearly let himself slip, he's nowhere near as good as he used to be.

        Do I, though?
I guess some people just can't turn their eyes from a train wreck. It's free now, anyways.

Too bad he never published those good works.

It's cute you think it's just his DC work

His "great" comics are mediocre. He was NEVER good.

His Superman was decent but Cinemaphile was too mad about Jon and memeing about him being bad to care.

Legion was awful and Young Justice was boring though I'll admit. At least we got some good books from other creators in Young Justice

Bendis is one of the worst writers on the market today and has done more damage to the medium than everyone else.

      >Bendis not bad
      >Whole body of work in the 2000s is about how much the Silver Age is dumb and street heroes are better
      >2000s see him trying to "update" Marvel, kills off a bunch of characters because he thinks that they're "lame" and tries to replace them with his Donut Steels

Because back before Cinemaphile I had no way of knowing if an author was totally dog shit or had an occasional bad story. You had to read a lot of trash to find the good stuff. Now comic book "readers" only read the same three books on every generic recommended reading list that gets shared around. If they actually read them and not a wiki summary or watch a YouTube recap.

How? Just read a little, and if it's crap, drop it.

I'm not saying you read a whole story of you're not enjoying it. You try a bunch of stories and keep the few you really enjoy.

Have you never flipped through a book in the comic shop? Comic fans read all comics. They're not just a bunch of zoomie morons who only read what's already vetted and listed on top 10s.

          >Have you never flipped through a book in the comic shop?
Of course. You can instantly tell if something is worth reading or not from a couple pages. You don't read the whole thing if it isn't.
Even most of the vetted stuff sucks ass.

Dark Avengers is the only halfway decent thing he's done and you have to ignore how moronic it is to have Norman Osborn back from the dead and ignore the Venom symbiote acting completely differently than it ever had in 616

Why did Tom King fall off so hard? he has a legendary run up until Batman .

He didn't fall. Between Batman and Heroes in Crisis there's a large group of fans who will shriek CIA MAN BAD any time his name is brought up.

Penguin and Wonder Woman are just as good as Vision, Omega Men, and Grayson were, back when Cinemaphile couldn't get off his dick.

This. He's been trash from day one.

Simple. When he first started, everyone thought he was doing something new and different plus many of the characters he was working on were C-D Listers who only the most autistic fricks gave a shit about. Grayson had Seeley stopping him going overboard with his bullshit.

More info came out about him plus after Mister Miracle, everyone began to realise he kept doing the same thing(s). Turn a franchise into him weeping about how bad he feels about the CIA, trying to imitate the nine grid style of Moore, randomly interject poetry/lit to make things "deep" and/or rip off movie plots with the hope that no one will notice.

People still swear by Mister Miracle, so I'm tempted to read it while hoping it's actually good. But frick, The Vision was pretty awful and so were his Supergirl and Omega Men, and people still swear by those too.

Miles & Jessica Jones add nothing to the Marvel universe they actually take way time from other & better characters.

I'd say what's much worse about Jessica Jones is attracting all the buttholes who look at a generic plainclothes woman who says "frick" a lot and fights a generic "man bad" villain and think it's mature entertainment that's what superhero comics should be.

The subject matter of her character being entirely based on sexual assault is just wrong.
