zoomer here, my (gen x) dad loves family guy, constantly references it, peter griffin impressions, etc. i literally grew up watching it, my parents thought i would be too stupid to understand what was happening, they were wrong
original family guy (s1-s3) is completely gen x humor, i'm surprised younger gens find it so funny, it's incredibly dorky and dated now

Millenials had no idea this show existed on Fox until it got cancelled. Then Adult Swim picked it up and we started loving it. After a while we grew to hate it.
