You can replace the alien in the first movie with a boar and it's just as terrifying.
The horror comes from having absolutely nothing to defend yourself which is quite cheap
Aliens on the otherhand is able to find the horror within the action even tough we have military guys with an arsenal of weapons.
We don't. There are just some people with their head so far up their ass they can't see the greatness of both. One is a horror movie with action elements. The other is an action movie with horror elements. They compliment each other
Because Jimbo replaced the first film's impeccable pacing, terrifying atmosphere, and unrelenting sense of dread with lazy B movie action schlock, cringe one liners, and cardboard cutout characters.
Alien is slow as frick and boring. A normal person would call it pretentious drivel, but Cinemaphile, by their contrarian nature has to take the stance that it is superior to the near perfect action sci-fi thriller that is 'Aliens'.
Because fart-sniffing pseuds think that the presence of action and banter degrades its relative artistic merit despite the fact that Aliens is a more intellectually ambitious work with more layers, themes and moving parts than the original
>sequel is just two hours of epic, wisecracking space marines mindlessly blowing up aliens >some moronic homosexual on Cinemaphile thinks this makes it more layered, thematic, and intellectually ambitious
You see, posts like this are why I can't take anybody on this board seriously.
First one was a masterpiece. Really intriguing from the start, paced excellently with the terror slowly building as the movie goes on, lots of suspense, very claustrophobic. The alien was this mysterious force we hardly saw and learned about along with the characters. I'm not particularly movie literate so that's about as much as I can put into words but overall it felt really compelling to watch.
I was let down by the sequel. It wasn't bad at all but given that I went in expecting more of Alien, I was disappointed that it was a standard 80s action thriller. It was great as far as those movies go, far from the best though, not as good as Terminator 2 for instance.
>aliens know exactly where the survivors are holding up after the first fight >instead of bumrushing them and killing them all immediately the aliens sit around with their dicks in their hands so that the survivors can build defenses and have a fighting chance just so that Jimbo can film an epic fight and escape sequence and the movie can drag on another hour >oh yeah and now the aliens can kidnap people to be impregnated instead of just killing them >except this makes zero sense which is why it's never actually shown >all we ever see is someone getting surrounded then a hard cut to black
Alien aged better. Also, the xenomorphs seem like stupid and weak wienerroaches in Aliens. It's more like just a small scale version of Starship troopers. I don't hate it at all, but it's not as good in my mind as the first movie.
I personally don't.
I view them as two different kinds of movies not really comparable to each other since Aliens is an action oriented movie and Alien is a slow burner atmospheric horror akin to The Thing (the original).
Love both of them, simple as.
alien is just a basic b***h slasher flick with a space theme, you know if someone thinks it's better than the action kino known as aliens then they have terrible taste
Alien was a film that never needed sequels. Kinda like Blade Runner, Terminator, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard etc. Aliens makes the Xenomorph look like a basic monster. If you want action and extraterrestrial stuff, just watch predator.
why do alien morons need the xenomorph to be a cartoonish le ebin undefeatable species? is this supposed to be more cerebral? it's not; it's dumb.
in alien the humans struggled to defeat the alien because they were unarmed workers confronted with a complete unknown foe.
Are you high on glue? What gave you that idea. N isn't in the top 1000, S in the top 10 (for children).
because aliens is more of an action movie and the aliens turn into shitty bugs that they kill left and right
also I thought the dialogue was cringe. you can really tell in these old movies when it was written by some male boomer without much feedback

>also I thought the dialogue was cringe
The dialogue in Aliens is great for an action movie.
>genre makes it deeped
Aliens is a silly movie in many ways compared to Alien.
I consider both inferior to Prometheus/Covenant.
they didn't need to turn that movie into a franchise

prometheus > alien > aliens

Because it is. Alien is pure horror/thriller kino. Aliens is good action schlock.
Filtered homosexual.
They turned into an action extravaganza instead of the slow-burn horror of the original. The characters were also less memorable
Because fart-sniffing pseuds think that the presence of action and banter degrades its relative artistic merit despite the fact that Aliens is a more intellectually ambitious work with more layers, themes and moving parts than the original

woah

Imagine not understanding Aliens AND lying about it
Imagine posting a soijack in an unironic fashion.
Cinemaphile loves cheesy horror movies
Too much 80s flannel
1979 v 1986.
>Ripley goes back to the planet with a bunch of jocks and fights a ton of aliens and then a big boss alien
moronic idea for a sequel.
Now that I think about it, Alien3 continuing Alien 1 would've made more sense
Alien didn't need a sequel. Especially that one.
horror loves are homosexuals period
the alien queen was the worst part. a stupid spider that lays eggs
Only reddit thinks that.

Well done Jimbo, you hack fraud egomaniac.
Cinemaphile loves Aliens, what are you on about?

Prometheus > Alien > Aliens > Alien 3 > Covenant > Resurrection
Put Prometheus at the opposite end and this is pretty accurate
Alien was more pure sci-fi, Aliens was mors action sci-fi. Probably completely accidentally because we now know that Ridley Scott is a moron.
What?!
