Because his mere existence makes Bruce Wayne look old, which is unacceptable for some reason. Also, to be fair, Dick is all too often a gigantic butthole in pretty much every continuity, so it's funny to watch both him and his alleged fanbase get knocked down a peg.

    In any case, Lazarus Pit.

What's up with men jokes this season?
It's like characters can't go five minutes without going "ugh, men". It's not even funny since there are no jokes about it, it's women literally complaining at men just for existing.

The joke in prior seasons was genuinely horrible, unconscionable people were getting uppity about various other groups as if they had any fricking room to talk. But at some point the irony was forgotten by the writers.

You’re both wrong it’s somewhere between Rick and morty and venture bros quality wise with its best seasons being around the quality of the worst or more middling venture bros seasons (basically like season 1 season 5 maybe even season 2 level) and it’s worst seasons (this one and season 3) are slightly better than the average Rick and morty season

Caught up. Was hoping the season would have more Damian, pretty disappointed.

She did this, meanwhile Bane actually went and improved himself and learned how to make pasta.
Seriously though why did she do it and then blame it on the clone?

        It was Barbara's trans roommate.

        >was a fan of villain harley and looked up to her
        >excuses herself conveniently to party with the cold boys before Nightwing's body is discovered
        >extra strings wrapped around his wrist for some reason when his body was discovered in the tree compared to when he was knocked out in the snow

Although the last one might be an animation error, but I don't think the friendship bracelet had been drawn like that prior and it was emphasized too much for it to not be important visually.

He wouldn't wear her stupid friendship bracelet so she strangled him with it. Also, Batman is out of the picture because Bruce Wayne went to jail for tax evasion last season and the Joker is the mayor of Gotham City after being elected due to his platform on Socialism.

It gets evened out in later seasons when Apokolips enters the fray and even the heroes start to play dirty. Though the amount of that is greatly exaggerated just because a bunch of episodes in a row ended with a keikaku tag.

Eh it’s one of those shows where each seasons gets exponentially worse than the last season 1 was pretty good season 2 was alright though a lot of its more annoying quality’s reared it’s ugly head ,season 3 started off awful and got better around the middle of the season through the end season 4s been a pile of shit and I think it’s main flaw is that each season tries to focus on more shit and it feels bipolar for instance

        >season one, basically a Harley Quinn getting away from the joker story it gets a little convoluted once they have scarecrow kidnap poison ivy and shit but like it’s still all related to one thread
        >season two had that whole Gotham being split between 5 villains which they just dropped half way through also probably had the dumbest power creep with Harley somehow being getting powerful just because she was mad that kitechad was cucking her but it was still an entertaining ride and I did like that kite man was the one that ultimately left ivy
        >season 3 spent forever on the stupid frank getting kidnapped plotline and sidelined the secondary cast and had shit like that stupid two face plot that had literally zero purpose but the Batman mind stuff was decent and they at least had good reasoning for it
        >I can’t think of one good thing season 4s done the moon episode was alright but even that was just 20 minutes of “rich people suck” jokes and everything they do in this season is just fuvking it felt like they did that time travel shit to make some excuse for a serious plot

Eh yeah honestly the think that really ruins this season is the bat family shit like that shit hasn’t been entertaining since like the third episode of the season when they started having Harley sleepwalking and shit then it just got repetitive or had stuff like that episode where batgirls missing and they use it as an excuse to have Harley talk to a trans college student for a whole episode and killing nightwing was just really stupid

Nightwing may not actually be dead. Maybe it's a fakeout thing where he's just deep under cover as part of the investigation. Talia is there and Lazarus pits have been referenced a bunch of times, so if he is actually dead, maybe they'll bring him back that way.

          Anonymous

Everything wrong with season 4 is as symptomp of the big cliff this show was inevitabily gonna dive off of.

You can see in seasons 1-2 that they wanted to actually have a nuanced display of Ivy and Harley's relationship and show how toxic it is and how two incredibly fricked and unwell people getting together for the sake of codependacy is not gonna help anyone.

But then realized they can't portray a lesbian realtionship with nuance and faults without getting killed in the street so for seasons 3 and 4 they have been constantly forcing Ivy and Harley into the perfect comfy couple without any faults and everyone else in the world doesn't matter.

The sad thing about this is that in Black Red White they had a story where Harley and Ivy got together in a healthier way and they kinda pulled it off there. So to see this show fail at it is kinda baffling.

He's boring and overrated. Tim is the best Robin and Jason is the hottest batboy.

People forget the times when having a big butt made you the butt of the jokes. It wasn't cool or hot. It made women think you were a big homo.

The problems with Tim Drake started with Dan Didio and Dick Grayson, along with Jason Todd then Damian Wayne.

Didio wanted tom make Tim into his vision of the iconic Robin archetype. Teen Titans, dead parents, etc. This was all done with the expectation that Dick Grayson would be killed off in Infinite Crisis, so Tim could step up as Batman's heir apparent. But then Dick didn't die. Last minute change. The plans for Tim still played out the same. Bruce adopts Tim. Tim moves into Dick's old bedroom. Tim leads the Teen Titans. Tim is still destined to become Batman. Tim even starts calling himself Tim Wayne. With Dick off in New York this status quo could have worked... but then Grant Morrison came along.

The real problem was Morrison picking Dick Grayson to be the next Batman. DC spent over half a decade prepping Tim for that role and Morrison blueballed the entire character arc. To make it worse, Tim couldn't even wait it out as Robin, because Morrison wanted to use Damian. But because DC spent so much time destroying Tim's old life to make him more "iconic", Tim didn't have anything to fall back on.

The New 52 made it clear that DC really had no idea what to do with the character. Damian as Robin was a hit. Nightwing was as popular as ever. Jason Todd was alive and an anti-hero. Barbara was back as Batgirl. Tim Drake no longer had a role to fill in the Batman Family. And here we are a decade later and nobody still has any idea what to do with him.

Jason coming back makes Tim's story of becoming Robin pointless, he was supposed to be the successor to the failure of Jason's Robin. But with Jason coming back? Whoops, all that guilt that Bruce had, and Tim's pressure to live up, and surpass Jason is all gone. It displaced Tim's role in the Batfamily, but he still has a role in competing with Jason to prove that he's better than Jason as a Robin. But then Damian happened, and we all know that story.

Tim's role to be the successor of Jason was dashed, but it was still to be the light to Jason's dark. With Jason alive, has to prove himself better. But Damian fricking Wayne came in. He stole Tim's role as Robin, thereby not even giving Tim a formal leave, or grand storyline, of exiting his Robin mantle that he made popular during his generation. Damian stole all of it, but I can forgive that Pre-New 52, as Tim was still a big player. But then New 52 came in, and retconned all of this shit, with Jason being goody with the Batfamily, and Damian being pushed hard. Damian being added to the cast displaced Tim's role even more, with Jason being there, and a new Robin in the role. Tim's role and place was basically frick all.

Frick Dick, Jason and Damian, they're the reason why Tim Drake is in a hot mess right now. Dick should have left Tim alone, and Jason/Damian should have at least kept one of them dead.

I don't really get it. I'm not a big fan of Batman in general so I'm probably missing a lot of context, but Nightwing looks like a very simple character concept.
    >Main hero's sidekick/protege grows up and becomes an independent hero in his own right
Why is it that every time I see something about this character he's treated as a joke or getting the short end of the stick? Is it just a running gag?

    Here's my theory.
Nightwing is strong and skilled, usually second to Batman. The show is hellbent on wanking Harley so he's an obvious target to show how superior she is.
If you have Harley kill Batman, you'd piss off a lot of people. Nightwing is a second best thing. That's why earlier in the season they established why Harley is a better fighter than the rest of Bat-family.

In all honesty, ever since Haley Quinn’s original VA died. It seems insulting for WB to keep renewing this slop. Sure she was likely fine with it, but the show as a whole leaves an awful pit in my stomach considering the original Batman animated series already gave Harley and Poison Ivy a good send-off with them being happy and escaping Joker. Every portrayal of Harley Quinn after that always felt wrong, the HBO Max show especially taking the cake.

For the first time ever Nightwing has a critically acclaimed solo book that hasn't been cancelled so the team can work on Batman.
Dick is starring in 4 books a month, plus a few additional guest appearances each month. That's the most concurrent titles since the DickBats days.

I do feel like earlier seasons of this show were kind of in on the joke and all the psycho ramblings of harley were very clearly ironic because then she would go do some extremely heinous shit to undermine herself. Then sometime around season 3, the show got really obsessed with making harlivey work despite it's clear toxicity and putting hardly on her hero path. The problem is Harley and ivy are terrible in a serious relationship and their chemistry just feels forced. And the show has ironically had the worst redemption arc for one of the evilest Harley's, she pretty much got strong armed into being heroic by Barbara's nagging and it doesnt feel that natural since shes still doing a shit ton of evil. Compare this to her much more natural redemption in the BTAS verse where it's clearly shown that she really is a good sole that has had her mind warped by the joker, and just cant find the strength in herself to break free, while it doesnt excuse her actions it does make you feel for her. This harley is her own woman, and all this woman wants to do is kill bang and steal and doesnt really have a compelling reason to turn good. Poison ivy felt much more suited to a turn towards the good in this show, since her motivations were always consistent and she had been show to want to do a lot of good. The show even explicitly stated that she was at war with herself.

Honestly, a Good Ivy vs Evil Harley end game would be much better than where this whole story has gone for two seasons. Most of the fun waltzed right out of the show when they got together. The episode this season with their future daughter was straight up painful.
