Why does DC hate Superman now?
>no solo movies in nine years, going on a decade
>no solo cartoons from this entire century (his last solo cartoon was Superman: The Animated series, which ended in 2000)
>no video games since that cheap Superman Returns movie tie-in (2007)
>titular comic book has replaced Clark with his gay son, Action Comics has him removed from Earth on some distant alien planet without even his classic suit
>rumor has it next DCEU movie is going to kill him off as a baby
What the hell? This isn’t a normal way for a company to treat a flagship character. Even if Batman sells more or whatever, it seems like DC leadership as a whole just doesn’t fricking like this guy on some personal level
and this is good.
they don't have people smart/talented enough to touch the character, it's better this way.
we need to keep Clark into one of those, let this super hero bubble pop and die and we bring him back in the future when it's really necessary
It isn’t good
NTA, but it is. He's just been left to rot for too long.
When you're more a symbol than a character it's over for you unless you get an exceptionally good representation that redefines the character.
Superman was #1 when comics were relevant, being #1 now is like being king of shit mountain.
WB hired Snyder
DC hired Bendis
People are too lazy to make a good Superman video considering his power set.
WW is getting a video
Superman was supposed to get a video game that became the suicide squad game due to his movies and comics failing critically
Executive decisions have been made and the money people in power have decided that Superman is no longer a money maker outside of nostalgia purposes
>Superman was supposed to get a video game that became the suicide squad game due to his movies and comics failing critically
And to piss on his grave some more, they made yet another Superman video game franchise where he's the bad guy murdering people. Sure he's brainwashed but that doesn't exactly help the character appeal to the audience much.
Superman is no longer DC's flagship character
Its Batman
That happened about 40 years ago
and was cemented around the early 2000s
Most of the people who revere Superman have all been fired or have retired
Now all that's left are the superman fanboys who are whining about evil superman and supergirl
>40 years ago
>2022 - 40 = 1982
I think you mean 33 years.
TDKR was published in 1986 so it's almost there. Besides, Superman started to decay long before that. TDKR was just the obituary

Executives get their lackeys to look online at social media bubbles who complain about Superman being overpowered and get cold feet. Then they expect their movies to make as much as Marvel, it doesn't do a billion, they panic and keep course correcting into the ground
He's going to get another animated series
No he’s not. Just trust me bro, I feel it in my gut. That’s going the way of Tartakovsky’s Superman and Superman Family
I think it'll go through. He's probably going to play second fiddle to Lois Lane, but I'll take what I can get
He's so cute. No homo.
sorry bro Lois and her strap on own that ass
porn when?
Clark is too pure for that
SuperBetaMale
thats not a bad update for Clark
just hope Superman doesn't act like that
Didnt they announce they had also been working on a second season at the same time or am i seeing things?
It's not going to be a Superman TV show. It's going to be Lois Lane and her pathetic castrated Super boyfriend who takes her strong independent woman schtick without ever sticking up for himself. Either in or out of his Superman identity.
>Lois Lane and her pathetic castrated Super boyfriend who takes her strong independent woman schtick without ever sticking up for himself
And that's not on par for the comics?
Clark Kent in the Superman cartoons may have been a goofball or being Superman playing a character. But he was never pathetic.
Run the IP to the ground before Public Domain gets a hold of it.
Ya know, this actually makes sense.
Who gives a frick if you destroy everything if youre going to lose it anyway. When is he going pub anyway? I honestly dont think hell go public though. They avoided it once somehow, Im sure theyll do it again.
lol the good stuff would take another 50 years to go public so you'd have superman and superman alone
Still got 10 years even for his basic stuff.
He isnt going to stop getting destroyed anytime soon.
This is a dumb I see repeated. Have you ever read golden age Superman? He gets established pretty quickly
What about Superman and Lois?
>it seems like DC leadership as a whole just doesn’t fricking like this guy on some personal level
He's was born and raised in a US state that voted for Donald Trump, has traditionally represented truth justice and the american way, he looks white (even if he is an alien), is straight and male, and married to a white woman with a kid. Even if it's not true. Most people in Hollywood look at that and think to themselves. "Yeah frick no. I'm not writing a boomer right wing conservative character that's also a good guy." Which is how you get the DCEU version of the character, Injustice, Red Son, the new Suicide squad game, and his son being turned bisexual.
Even though it's not true. Most people in Hollywood see Superman as a character who is only popular with people they politically despise.
Optimism, inspiration, idealism, etc. it’s all kitschy. The edgy ”I hate my daddy” bullshit is en vogue. That’s why Paramount turned a Star Trek show about a geriatric Picard into a grim pile of shit.
Because nobody likes him. He's really a boring character. Just a model citizen in the 50s.
But I like him
>b-but you don’t count because reasons
I like him anon
Don’t forget they made his only son a wiener-sucking homosexual and a Pride icon.
>his only son
So, we're just gonna pretend Conner doesn't even exist?
>a Pride icon
Okay, we get it, Cinemaphile hates gays. Moving on.
Not that anon, but isn’t Connor a clone or something? I thought only Jon was his biological son
All offspring are simply composite clones with a second template.
