He's saying the climax of the run got gutted because of the War Games tie-in, which is true. Everything got crammed into issues 99 and 100. And then the fallout got sidelined for Nightwing: Year One, which was originally going to be a stand-alone miniseries.

His girlfriend dumped him, his boss fired him, his circus burned down, his apartment building was bombed to rubble, and he was sleeping on fire escapes under newspapers for extra sadboy points while taking his anger out on his z-list mercenary rogue's gallery. He gets beat to shit for a year or more, then lets Tarantula kill Blockbuster, then lets her rape him, then follows her like a lost puppy and nearly marries her, then gets dragged into a Batman event and brings her along. Then he puts her in jail and joins the mob?
