That game is underrated as frick. I never finished it as a kid but finally did during COVID and I enjoyed every second of it.

I'm not so sure about that. When people talk about Monolith's good games I almost never hear it mentioned. People mention Shogo more than they mention Tron 2.0.
Games are only ever considered canon when they're first released. They are always ignored when the next thing comes out. Ghostbusters is a prime example. Everyone regarded the 2009 game as the third film. Dan Aykroyd himself said as much. It was written by him and Harold Ramis, and was the last Ghostbusters thing Ramis worked on before his death. You'd think they would give it the respect it deserves, as it's the last story all four actors worked on. But no. Afterlife completely ignores/invalidates it.
I hope so too but I'm not optimistic. When was the last sequel Disney made that was good?

Tron Legacy had great visual design, music, and casting. But the story was kind of lame. Also very little action. Lots of scenes where people stand with their hands on their hips or behind their backs, throw like one punch, then go back to poaing and thats the "action scene"

It's funny because similar big-budget sci-fi movies like Oblivion or Elysium were universally considered mid or adequate 10 years ago, but to imagine either movie coming out now would be impossible and if they did would be considered brilliant or breaths of fresh air.
